Notes:
A light fruit ale, made with Maine wild blueberries. As opposed to many of the sweeter fruit beers on the market, our addition of fresh Maine wild blueberries in this light ale yields a subtle blueberry aroma, without the sweet aftertaste. A mixture of the following Mutton malts, pale, crystal, and Munich, are combined with wheat to give this ale its lighter body, and we only use minimal amounts of Target and Willamette hops.

12 oz brown long neck twist off, hmmm … the same bottle that Shipyard uses. Even the freshness date is the same format of Shipyard … the assumption is that it really is contract brewed.

Appearance: Clear and tawny brown, the thin bubbly lace holds virtually no retention at all.

Smell: Blueberries, what else? Light spicy hop and some malt sweetness … that is about it.

Taste & Mouthfeel: Ample crispness within the light to moderate body. Slim maltiness limply throws a sweetness on the palate. The blueberry flavour is nice and even throughout. Good spicing with the hops, just enough to balance and not get in the way of the fruit flavour. Touch of dextrin and blueberry sweetness in the finish.

Notes: An all around good blueberry ale, nothing that jumps out and surprises the senses … after one I had enough for the day.

12oz bottle, best by January '13, poured into a Duvel tulip.

A: Clear, deep orange body under a finger of frothy white head. Ok retention, spotty lace. Not bad.

S: Blueberry muffin, faint hops, and a metallic twang. Ok, not great.

T: Sweet fruit up front, bready malt midway through, and a moderately bitter finish. Bitter blueberry skin on the aftertaste. A little boring - definitely no better than average for the style.

M: Light-to-medium body with a goodly dose of creamy carbonation. Really excellent.

O: An average blueberry ale. No more no less.

Cheers!

Into a pint glass:

A: slightly hazy amber colored body and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. The head lasted longer than I thought.

S: blueberries, light malt

T: blueberries, malts taste toasted

M: light to medium, sessionable, toasty yet sweet aftertaste, slightly bitter finish

O: good for the style and me, I'd probably have it again

Poured in a pint glass, a perfectly clear, rich amber color, thin head that dissipates quickly.

Not bad at all! A malt beer with very little sugary sweetness and with hints of hops. Fruit taste is quite subtle, with a nice light biterness and very subtle sour notes towards the end. Refreshing and pleasant.

Strange though that nowhere on the website, on the bottle or on the 6-pack is any mention of the alcohol content, which I evaluate around 4.5 to 5%...
