Notes:
A light fruit ale, made with Maine wild blueberries. As opposed to many of the sweeter fruit beers on the market, our addition of fresh Maine wild blueberries in this light ale yields a subtle blueberry aroma, without the sweet aftertaste. A mixture of the following Mutton malts, pale, crystal, and Munich, are combined with wheat to give this ale its lighter body, and we only use minimal amounts of Target and Willamette hops.

Poured from a 12-ounce bottle into a Cavalry Brewing Co. pint glass.
A: Very light, pale copper color with lively carbonation building to a two-finger head of off-white foam which settles rather quickly to a fine layer of bubbly sediment leaving behind little lacing.
S: Fruity blueberry aroma with hints of lightly toasted grains. No hops noted, just the blueberry smell, which isn't too artificial smelling.
T: Slightly spicy and grainy malt flavor at first leading into a fizzy, watery rush of fruity esters and slightly metallic carbonation before finishing semisweet and fruity with a light, bitter blueberry syrup taste. The slightly metallic bitterness clings on in the finish ling after the blueberry fades.
M: Sharp, crisp and light-medium bodied ale with ample carbonation and no adverse, artificial blueberry residue.
D: Kinda tough to place it as a good beer in the winter, or any season for that matter. The malts are a bit harsh and grainy, imparting little sweetness to compliment the very light blueberry essence, which is far more prominent in the aroma that the flavor. Sort of a macro, blueberry beer at 5.2% ABV, so if that's your bag, have at it. Not I, however.

12oz bottle, best by January '13, poured into a Duvel tulip.
A: Clear, deep orange body under a finger of frothy white head. Ok retention, spotty lace. Not bad.
S: Blueberry muffin, faint hops, and a metallic twang. Ok, not great.
T: Sweet fruit up front, bready malt midway through, and a moderately bitter finish. Bitter blueberry skin on the aftertaste. A little boring - definitely no better than average for the style.
M: Light-to-medium body with a goodly dose of creamy carbonation. Really excellent.
O: An average blueberry ale. No more no less.
Cheers!

Into a pint glass:
A: slightly hazy amber colored body and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. The head lasted longer than I thought.
S: blueberries, light malt
T: blueberries, malts taste toasted
M: light to medium, sessionable, toasty yet sweet aftertaste, slightly bitter finish
O: good for the style and me, I'd probably have it again

Poured in a pint glass, a perfectly clear, rich amber color, thin head that dissipates quickly.
Not bad at all! A malt beer with very little sugary sweetness and with hints of hops. Fruit taste is quite subtle, with a nice light biterness and very subtle sour notes towards the end. Refreshing and pleasant.
Strange though that nowhere on the website, on the bottle or on the 6-pack is any mention of the alcohol content, which I evaluate around 4.5 to 5%...
