Took a 3rd place medal at FoBAB in the Strong/Double/Imperial Dark beers category.
A - Dark, cola-colored beer with a tan head that left a few spots on the sides. Rubies a little bit on the edges.
S - Lots of molasses and caramel malts. You get a nice whiff of alcohol in there along with some fruity notes. Really kind of a sweeter smelling beer.
T - Lots of sweet stuff. Sweet bread, toffee, caramel, molasses, some dark fruits, brown sugar, kind of like a less sweetened (and less gross) fruit cake in it's own way.
M - Medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation.
O - Good beer, pretty interesting, a little on the sweet side. Some hops might have done a little bit to break this up. Still good, and I like trying eisbocks as I have not had many of them.

On tap at the Bistro Barrel Aged Fest in Hayward, CA.
Mostly clear dark reddish-brown in color with a medium-sized tan head and decent retention.
Aroma is caramel, oak, red wine, berries, and nuts. Smells very good.
Flavor is sweet, malty, and nutty, with lots of caramel and toffee, red wine, oak, vanilla, and some other fruity notes in there. Complex and tasty.
Smooth on the palate with medium body and soft carbonation.
Drinkability is good. This is a hell of a beer overall.
