Jeff Squires Jsquires brought us over to this small city. It seems like a hole-in-the-wall but is as big as a Walgreens. The beer is organized fairly well by alphebetic order and country. Most are available in singles, and they were good about breaking new 6-paks for us. Of course, $300 and over 100 bottles later was an amazing sale for them, however the older kind lady took a half an hour to ring everything up-that was very inefficient. Also not all the prices, particularly on bombers, were attractive. I did like that most beers were available on the shelf rather than cold.Good selection of Left Hand and Lagunitas compared to other places. Belgium and German also above average.

One hell of a selection, this store. You wouldn't know it from the outside but this is definitely worth a stop. I didn't make an actual count but I'd estimate there were about 500 different beers here. Separated by country, and filling about 1/4 - 1/3 of the store, mostly shelved but very few are refrigerated. The prices are about the same as other places in OH (Cleveland, Columbus). No brainer to stop here if you're in Dayton. Funny thing, with all this selection the lady in front of me bought a 6-pack of Bud light...

Shabby surroundings contain a wealth of good beers. Many singles available. Tons of Bell's, Stones and Rogue's. Youthful, energetic and unskilled staff. Helpful, just not knowledgeable. Pricing is pretty standard. Very little is cooled except the goodies, and some of them are on the shelves without benefit of cooling. Must stop in the Dayton area.

The hallmark of this place is the selection of singles. If you're a traveler who wants to try locals or beers not available in your area... you need to get here when near Dayton. I have been lucky to stop twice. The staff are more than happy to help you find something and the store is arranged compactly for an accomodating experience. Also included some harder to find beers from Ohio, although I wish they would have had some from the Columbus Brewing for me to try.... however I am aware that possibly they don't distribute that far out.

On our way to Jackie O's Alex had us stop by this highly rated place to see if it lived up to the hype. Driving through the area and pulling up the place I thought we were in for a huge disappointment. A drab and dreary town, the store looks like a local liquor store. As we make our way in and find the beer we find about 6 rows of beers. The selection is really good with great quality. Most foreign staples but super light on Cantillon and other lambics. The local selections is great, even had Weyerbacher Reserva. They easily had about 200 beers and the highlight is the tons of singles pulled from six packs. The service was non-existentant as they were really busy. Annoyingly, they had a delivery and they had a back door buzzer going for about 10 minutes and it was really annoying.
You aren't going to find anything super rare here but if you are in the area its worth the stop if you want to tick a bunch of local singles.

Easy to miss this place if you aren't paying attention. Inside appears old, kind of musty like it has been around for a long, long time. The staff is helpful, but not always expert. So what! This place has a great selection from Stone, Rogue, Bell's, Great Lakes, etc. One isle has Belgian, German and English beers, another has craft beer from the U.S. You can get a lot of singles here, which is a plus. Most of the beer is on the shelf, but they do also have a cooler which has quite a few great beers, as well as bombers. They also have a good selection of homebrew supplies and equiptment. This is a must stop in the Dayton area!

This was our only stop on our way through Dayton, which I've heard referred to as "The Armpit of America."
Luckily, we only saw about 2.5 miles of the city-- the shop isn't too far from the highway.
The selection was incredible. Several different 3F beers and a few bottles of Tilquin were sitting on shelves awaiting out perusal.
There must have been 500 different beers here, from nearly every brewery I could expect. Lots (read; virtually EVERY beer in the store) is broken up and available as singles.
Lots of shelves and coolers are stacked with craft. The selection here rivals anything I've seem at any Binnys.
Just a great shop-- if you are coming by Dayton, this is a must.

I had the pleasure of visiting this store after finding there to be no more Dreadnaught at my Cincinnati connection this past weekend. Upon pulling into the parking lot, I was prepared to be highly disappointed. There was not much to show what a masterpiece waited behind the dirty glas door. Upon entereing, I was in the beer side of the store. I was still not too sure about it, as there was no eye candy or bling or shiney things to make me feel this was a great store. Then I passed into nirvana. Closest to the register you will find the import singles, then import packs, followed with domestic micros in both packs and singles. I can't begin to elaborate on the selection, but needless to say, I promised my wife I would try really hard not to buy anything other than what I needed for my trades when I was out that day, and I dropped well more than the zero I had anticipated on myself. Banana lambic, Thomas Hardy's 03-04, Stone 7&8 anniversary still, lots of 3 Floyds, including extra pale ale...I didn't think this was available in bottles, never having seen it. I could go on as to their selection. I had to ask someone for a box to hold my beers, as there were no baskets or anything to shop with. The woman at the register was very friendly, even asking me to be safe on my drive back to Lexington. I was more than impressed with everything about this store. What it lacked in shine on the inside and outside it more than made up for with selection and charm. I will definately be back there before too long, when I have more money. Worth the 2 hour drive.

Damn good selection. I was in town for a wedding and decided to stop in here to pick up some regional micros I can't get down south, and I am glad I did. The selection was very good, honestly far better than I expected from Dayton Ohio. They had all of the major micros I would expect in the area (stone, alesmith, victory, ect.) and they had quite a few different beers from each brewery. The range of imports was very good too.
It is a relatively small store so things are a bit crowded and most of what they have is not refrigerated, but both of those are things you have to expect from independent stores with good selections so I am not complaining. I was so happy with what I found that I didn't bother to talk to anyone, so I can't comment on service.
My only complaints are that they did not have much in the way of 3 floyds (but I don't know if much is available there from that brewery) and one other, more unfortunate, problem. I was very happy to see several 4 packs of Au Courant from Dogfish Head. I hadn't seen this beer in years and didn't think they were making it again so I was excited to see it and bought some. As it turned out Dogfish hasn't made that brew in over 3 years and the ones I got were extremely bad. It is, of course, my fault for not checking the date on the bottles, but I can't help but wonder why they would have that much of such an old beer on the shelf.

I stopped at this store on the sage advice of kmpitz2 on my way back from a trip down to Kentucky, and boy am I glad that I did. Pulling into the parking lot I wasn't sure what to expect. Bud Light neons in the window and other macro posters adorned the outside and at first glance it didn't seem all that promising. However, upon entering and making my way to the beer section I was more than overjoyed. There's a huge shelf of import singles ranging from Cantillon, Fantome, Oud Beersel (this is where I found the Framboise) and many, many more. There's 3 more rows of shevles containing six packs, bombers and a big selection of singles and closeout items (check yer date codes if available..but good deals are to be found).
The big 3L of Oaked Bastard was here, but I was too cheap to indulge..wish I would have now! There were so many brews here that are unavailable in IL that I was estatic. Picked up a random mix of singles from Stoudt's, River Horse, Weyerbacher and more. They also have homebrew supplies here as well. The lady at the register was very nice and gave me a box to put all my stuff in as I shopped. Credit cards were down when I checked out, but she was really apologetic about it and gave me a bit of a discount.
One of the biggest gems I found were J.W. Lees Harvest Ales from 1997 forward! I picked up a few as well. This store was a great experience and well worth taking a differnet route home to get to. One of those hidden gems if you will. I hope to get a chance to go back here again sometime soon as I'm sure I'd be able to find new beers. If you're near Dayton at all I'd say this is a much stop. Oh yeah, Fantome brews were at least 3-4 bucks cheaper than I can find them in IL...hell yeah!
