Don't judge a book by its cover or better yet font judge a liquor/beer store by the people standing outside of it drinking a 40. Very impressed with this one, lots and lots of beer piled into this small building. Found some great beers I was not able to get anywhere else. Lots of bombers and single bottles everywhere.

how can you live in dayton, call yourself a beer geed and NOT call this place your favorite place in town to stock up? if you haven't been here, and you're from the midwest, you owe yourself a trip. drive into town, come here for the afternoon, head to tanks or chappys for dinner, and it's the perfect beer geek trip to dayton.

it's simply the best selection in town!!

craig.

Visited Dayton a few weeks ago. The reviews made this place a must stop.
I was able too haul several beers unavalible for distribution in central KY.
The place is easy to get too from the interstate and has a selection worth checking out. I will always stop back anytime I'm in or passing through Dayton, OH

The only caveat is that their coolers were still not working as per some of the other reviews. This wasn't a deal breaker for me since I was traveling, all warm was fine with me. Just an FYI.

Stopped here while on a two week business trip to Dayton/Kettering, OH. This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's beer heaven when you walk through the doors. The atmosphere is like a lot of smaller/hidden stores, they are dark and a little musky, just the way I like them. The quality of beers available here was amazing, pretty much anything you could want. It seemed pretty busy, I'm guessing because it was a Friday evening as people were getting off work. That didn't seem to phase the guys working there, because the service was still spot on. I think I got asked a few times if I was good to go, or needed help. The gentleman that helped me seemed very knowledgeable and recommended some beers that I had never tried, and gave me some honest thoughts on the beer that I stopped in for. Based off his opinion, I decided against what I came for, but left with a bunch of awesome brews that I can't get in Kansas. Most everything looked like it was available in singles as well. I couldn't find one of the beers that I was interested in as a single, but the guy said he could split a six for me if needed.

I also needed a glass to drink from, while they had some glasses, he recommended BrewTensils next door for a better selection. Picked up a Stone IRS Glass with the old IRS logo for 7 bucks. Not too bad IMO.

Oh yeah, don't forget to check near the front counter for some of the more limited beers or ask what they have behind the register.

All in all, if you are in the Dayton area, you need to stop into this place. Too bad I can't pack it up and ship it all back to Wichita, KS.

This place is fantastic. My only complaint is the atmosphere. It's very cramped, and smells pretty musty. but except for that this store is awesome. You won't find a better selection, of rare and hard to find brews in Dayton. They are pretty well know around here though so when they do get a beer like hopslam, everyone knows they have it and it lasts for a whole 30 minutes, but they're pretty good about reserving for regulars. They have just about every Ohio brew you can think of, including buckeye brewing, maumee, wooden shoe, rivertown, and mt. caramel. Huge selection of six packs, and bombers. Two pretty good sized coolers with a variety of six packs. Unfortuanetly their bomber cooler has been down for about a month now, and doesn't look like they have any intention of fixing it. What I really like though is the homebrew store they have next door. Extremely knowledgeable staff and a huge selection of starter kits, beer ingredient kits, and do it yourself supplys. If you live anywhere near Dayton, and want to homebrew, stop here first.

This was our only stop on our way through Dayton, which I've heard referred to as "The Armpit of America."
Luckily, we only saw about 2.5 miles of the city-- the shop isn't too far from the highway.

The selection was incredible. Several different 3F beers and a few bottles of Tilquin were sitting on shelves awaiting out perusal.
There must have been 500 different beers here, from nearly every brewery I could expect. Lots (read; virtually EVERY beer in the store) is broken up and available as singles.

Lots of shelves and coolers are stacked with craft. The selection here rivals anything I've seem at any Binnys.

Just a great shop-- if you are coming by Dayton, this is a must.

This place is awesome, never knew it existed and I lived there for 20 years... I even worked just down the road from there.
In short, the place is extremely reasonably priced, they have a great selection and even have stuff from 1 or 2 years ago that has probably been aged really well. Met the owner while I was there and he was extremely personable and knew a lot about all his products.

If it's available in Ohio, you can probably get it there (though still nothing over 12% as OH is a stupid state).

This treasure of Dayton is in what looks like a dilapidated shopping plaza, but don't be discouraged. You'd never know the treasure inside from the outside apperance. Great supply of everything western Ohio, look for Bell's, Founders, Brew Kettle, Alesmith, Bruery and Troegs to start. The occasional rare release is available, sometimes behind the counter, and often unannounced. Good selection of imports from Europe. Prices are comparable, if not a bit cheaper than other local competitors, like Arrow Wine and Dorothy Lane.

A huge selection of great beers and they don't ever look down on you if you ask questions and are not very knowledgable. There are all the usual selections and more esoteric beers for the adventurous. They make you feel like a regular customer right away. The wine selection is very good as well. They are a true "party supply". Stoping by is a treat and the brew your own store makes a complete adventure in the world of beerdom. This store offers the path from beer newbie to a true afficianado.
