Poured this into my Affligem glass from a bottle.
Pours a golden yellow in the glass with almost no head at all. Strong notes of banana right away followed by pear and citrus and hints of candy. It has a nice creamy feel in the mouth, very well balanced that way. It has a lingering sweetness on pallet and is quite earthy. I would like to try this again but on tap instead of a bottle. Overall it wasn't bad. Not the best example of the style, nor is it one of the better beers from Mill St. but it's quite good and I would drink it again. If you see it pick it up but I wouldn't go out of my way to try and find it.

Appearance: It has a nice clear yellow/golden color to it. It has a nice white head that dies down moderately and leaves some lacing.
Smell: The aromas definitly give out hints of yeast, spices, fruity and citrusy notes and some grassy hops.
Taste: Like the aromas, it has a sweet fruity and malty taste to it with yeast, spice and light hops in the balance. Flavors could have been more intense.
Mouthfeel: It has a low/medium carbonation with a nice sweet overall balance and feel.
Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied with decent flavors and aromas.

355ml bottle poured into a 16oz pint glass.
A - Pours with a light tan, one finger head. Darkish golden-yellow in color. Looks really good. The foamy head really doesn't die down and left some great lacing behind.
S - Sweet malt and clove upfront. Definitely a host of different light fruits here, along with a nice yeasty aroma. Citrus and coriander remind me of a Hoegaarden.
T - Tons of tasty malt, dark fruits, and some light hops in the finish. Definitely some pear and apricot flavors in here. Alcohol is masked incredibly well. It really tastes like a authentic Belgian beer to me. Some notes of grapefruit in the finish as well. Overall, this tastes complex and fantastic.
M - Creamy and rich. Not a ton of carbonation, but it's still there. Finish is dry, but not too dry. Really well done.
D - Everything is here. This brew was executed really well. I didn't really know what to expect coming in, but I didn't expect this. Surprisingly great beer!

This one thanks to grub.
Pours a nice larger fizzy and bubbly head that fades semi quickly with quite a bit of lacing, over crystal clear honey piss yellow colored beer.
Nose has some Belgian pale malts, light sweet malts, plenty of spices, touch of citrus, a sweet malty like aroma, a bit of bright fruits.
Taste starts with a slight sweet smooth malt, light wheat and some Belgian pale malts, plenty of spices, orange peel, coriander, and plenty of other spices, light bitterness that gets stronger on the finish, a bit of booze warms throughout, some fruit with a slight citrus and apricot, little oxidized, finishes slightly sweet and sticky, some lingering fruits and citrus, and spices, as well as malt flavors.
Mouth is med bodied, a little syrupy, and lower carbonation.
Overall kinda meh, low carbonation, weird fruit flavors, spices are OK but not great, syrupy, bitterness is not much.

Never had a tripel before; but I've been saving this one for a while and I'm pretty eager to try it. Pours a beautiful translucent golden-orange colour with a one-inch white head; poor retention and no cap with some lacing. The smell is complex; lots of fruits but peaches and pears were the dominant ones for me, along with yeast and a lot of sweet malts. Definitely a bubble gum thing going on when they all blend together.
Taste is weird but overall I kinda like it. Peaches and pears are less prominent than in the odour but still present; also some yeast, cloves and strawberry. Intensely malt-forward; combined with the booze it's a bit much. The overall flavour still has a bubble gum/cotton candy thing going on. You can tell there is extra booze here but it's not a serious issue. The finish has a weird taste that I can only compare to aspartame or Splenda.
If someone handed this to me without telling me the ABV, I probably would have guessed 6.5%, not the 8.5% it actually is. Carbonation level is rather low; average body and slightly chewy.
This is definitely a slow sipper. It's ok, but I'm not especially enthusiastic about it - it may just not be my thing, or it may be that this is entirely the wrong time of year to be drinking it. Something I might pick up next winter to see if it suits me better then, but probably not a priority.

Appearance: Poured with a solid two fingers of head that certainly stayed a while, but not much in the way of lace. The body is surprisingly clear for a tripel. Steady slow carbonation in the body.
Smell: Dry peppery yeast sit atop a background of white bread like malt. Fruity notes in the background, specfically grape and pear. It's just not doing enough for me.
Taste: A little bit too bread like, and not quite enough yeast as it starts up the beer with an almost sweet shortbread taste that carries on in the background. It turns to peppery yeast with only the barest notes of fruit which rises and falls to round out the beer. A bit simpler then I'd expect, but
Mouthfeel: It has a very subtle smoothness, as the carbonation is masterfully done. It does a superb job of hiding the alcohol content. The peppery taste knows when to stay and when to go and nothing lingers. Only complaint, that sweet bread taste is like a mule in the road, it stands out and won't move.
Drinkability: Refreshing but still classy and certainly something I'd expect to find at a restaurant. Still, I kind of expected a bit more complexity with the beer. This really needs to be partnered with a meal.
Final Thoughts: Mill St doesn't typically disappoint and this was no exception. I think they might want to vary the yeast a bit more but it was nice to find a simpler type of Belgian. Give it a shot.

a-pours a clear golden colour with a nice sizeable head. Nice lacing down the glass.
s-Nice sweet malt smell...notes of dark fruits or prunes/plums...quite sweet especially as it warms.
t-pretty typical belgian flavours. The sweet flavors really shine through. Does become cloying as it warms up.
m-Def thicker in keeping with an 8.5 beer.
d-Pretty drinkable when it's cooler. I found it very sweet as it warmed.

I had this beer for the first time over the holidays and thought quite well of it; now, with an opportunity to review it, I'm not all that convinced. That aside, this golden beer assumes a brilliance I can only describe as neon-orange. The head that rose and fell quickly was not so impressive, there was nothing sticky here, just a thin wisp left at centre glass and a feint ring. Carbonation lacking.
Smell is sweet mandarin orange and tangerine with a distinctive peppery nose feel takes away from citrus undertones. It's a little boozy with rotted fruit, some citrus, lemon. The finish is quite dry and abrupt. Body a bit thin for the style. Not a great example of the style overall. Still, this is certainly worth a try, not too many other breweries around here take on that style. Thanks to Mill St., it's great to have a variety of beer styles available from one brewery, it makes me want to try them all!

pours golden champagnelike with small white head that is gone when you blink.
smells of yeast similar to an abbey or trappist beer but has an underlying sickly sweetness.
so far seems like a beer trying real hard to copy an abby beer with some huge flaws right out the gate.
surprisingly smooth start but then leaves you with a sweet alochol taste at the end that goes away quickly and leaves you asking why you started drinking this stuff.
im finding the taste of alcohol overpowers any attempt at a balance between malt and hops.
very dissapointing overall.

The presence of this in a new Mill St. 6 Mixer intrigued me enough to pick it up
A - crystal clear straw, short white head was gone quickly
S - ripe pear, cloves, corn bread, and some grassy hops
T - a more sour fruit taste and some clove spice, corn tasting malt is strong, with a bubble gum note
M - thin with a nice carbonation kick, finishing dry
D - the alcohol is very well hidden, but the belgian flavours are very subtle and dominated by the corn malt flavour, i love when a brewer tries something new, and this is a very drinkable beer but not a great tripel

A - Clear dark gold with a thin head of quickly receding foam.
S - Nose is malty with caramel-toffee and a hint of apple.
T - Sweet, malty with a light booziness in the back. Apricot fruit and faint lemon on the palate, and a solid, but not overwhelming bitterness.
M - Medium body, with some heft. Very low carbonation.
D - Quite drinkable. Well balanced and clean. Could use a bit more zip in the carbonation I think. I would call this a tripel for the masses.

12oz into DFH Signature Glass.
Part of the Mill Street summer release at the LCBO.
A- Dark golden color. Half inch white head, disappears in seconds. Carbonation is minimal. Lacing is almost non-existent.
S- The label talks of cloves, fruits and bubble gum? Well they are very correct. Sweet fruits (strawberries, pineapple, mango) cloves and faint ginger. Yeasty and bready. Of course, for some strange reason... bubble gum. Almost like cotton candy when you put them all together.
T- Cotton candy and bubble gum right off the bat. Quite sweet liked dried pineapple and strawberry and peach candies. The spices take a back seat to the fruit notes. Alcohol is nowhere to be found in the taste. Very delicious!!
M- Minimum carb means that this is a creamy feeling creation. The candy like taste mixed with the texture and feel make this a very pleasant experience.
D- While it is very pleasant tasting and feeling, the 9% will eventually slow me down and the feeling of candy will make this a slower sipper.

A - White head. Thin and disapears fast. Golden amber colour.
S - Yeast. Bubblegum aroma. It seems to smell chewy to me and sort of sweet. I pick up some fruitiness too.
T - Chewy taste. Bubblegum comes through alot. Not too sweet which is nice but nothing really stands out.
M - Medium to full bodied. Minimal carbonation. Nothing offputting.
D - Alcohol is very well masked. Nice bubblegum flavour would keep me interested for a while. Could drink quite a few.

Poured a clear deep golden colour into a Duvel tulip. I turn around for a second and poof -- the 1 finger off-white head that was there originally has disappeared and left only soapy remains and very little lacing. In sum, looks more like a macro lager than Belgian-style tripel.
Yeast is what's most apparent in the nose, followed by some fruit, hint of sweet vanilla and a good dose of alcohol
Very sweet, bits of spice, maybe some clove, yeast, and what I can best describe as vanilla-flavoured vodka? Overall, lacking the balance and intensity of flavours and complexity of other tripels
Light-bodied, seemed a little undercarbonated to me, the sweetness gave it a bit of a syrupy mouthfeel.
Given the sweetness and ABV, drinkability is not all that high. Refreshing on a warm August afternoon, but will likely opt for other tripels (ie. LFDM) over this one in the future. A bit of a disappointment for me -- I generally enjoy most offerings from Mill St.

Well this was a surprise. I poured and no head. I read the label again, it did say tripel. Ok.
The smell was light grass and yeast initially.. but digging deeper there was lots of alcohol. Vodka or strong liquor.
Initially upon tasting it I said, ok... unmistakable triple. Fruit, alcohol and lots of yeast. But as I drank more I lost much of it in the sweet fruit. It doesn't taste bad.. but it's also so one sided you need to chase it with an IPA.
Mouthfeel is hindered by the lack of carbonation. It's sticky sweet with no refreshing dryness.
Drinkability is just so so.. I'd probably not have another unless it was all that I had on hand.

Pours a dark peach, almost tangerine. Nice big creamy head, but it quickly fades away to nothing. Bubbles are slow moving, hinting at some very laid-back carbonation. A bit off-style.
Yikes, alcohol phenols just jump out at you. A little bit of light fruit in there, but it's like you'd expect from some flavoured vodka.
Very sweet. Lots of fruit, but it's hard to nail down given the almost overpowering alcohol. Pear and candy sugar combine to leave an almost cloying taste. Where I'd usually expect a nice soft spice and yeast finish, I just get another hit of sugar.
Carbonation is off. The lack of carbonation just accentuates the almost unpleasant sweetness.
A rare miss from Mill Street. Goes overboard on the sugars and misses the other flavours.
