Style | ABV
American Blonde Ale |  5.00% ABV

Availability: Year-round. bottle (72), on-tap (6)

Notes:
A golden export-style ale made from only malt and hops, no fillers or adjuncts. A brilliant golden colour gives a “sparkling” appearance as the gas escapes from the glass. The natural sweetness of the malt is perfectly balanced by the bitterness derived from the hops. This beer represents the way blonde ales were made 100 years ago.

The colour of this beer was no surprise, seeing how it came in a clear bottle. Poured into my pint glass, it was highly effervescent bright gold over a thick white head — it looked like ginger ale, actually. The smell was sweet honeysuckle and clover paired with a subtle apple aroma.

The taste was well-balanced, with a moderately bitter, drying finish offsetting the malty start. Highly carbonated with medium body. This isn't a particularly memorable beer, but it could make a nice additive-free alternative to a macro if you need a crowd-pleasing offering for guests.

Not much sense commenting on the colour given that it comes in a clear bottle. I've always liked the clear bottles - they're just more pleasant than the brown bottles, although certainly are not effective at blocking sunlight from entering the beer.

It pours with two fingers of head that gives off a very crisp and pleasant aroma - some sweet malt is what I get right off the bat, but I also get a slight hint of orange, much like I would in a wheat beer. The taste is very refreshing - think corona without the crappy adjuncts. You taste a bit of malt, and you get a pleasantly sweet aftertaste. It's the epitome of a good patio beer - lightly flavoured and it goes down easy. The bottle proclaims that the sweetness of the malt is balanced out by the bitterness of the hops, although admittedly I don't taste much of a hoppy character. There isn't much taste at all in this beer, but I think this is what they were going for.

This is the one to go for if you've moved past Bud and Canadian and need a mild craft beer to get started with. I'll certainly buy this again.

Poured from a 355 mL bottle into the beery beer glass.

A-Minimal foamy head with little to no retention. Only small bits of lacing. A very clear yellow with slightly gold/orange tint.

S-Sweet like a bowl of honeycombs.

T-mild malty sweetness fades into mild citrus hoppiness.

M-Light body with high carbonation makes it fade off of the tongue quite quickly.

O-Nothing wrong here, but not much to taste either. A clean and easy beer that would please on a nice hot BBQ day.

Have never had this before. Bought the 10th Anniversary pack and this came in it.

Crystal clear golden yellow pour. Half finger, short lived fizzy white head. Lacing is okay.

Sweet cereal, light grass, digestive cookies, a little pear and some apple skins.

Light grains, sweet bread, pear and apple. Slight earthy notes with a touch of grass.

Light body, high carbonation. Good lawnmower beer.

Appearance- Pours a clear golden yellow with a finger width of bubbly head that quickly fades.

Smell- Apples, pears, grains, grass, and overall sweet aromas.

Taste- Taken by surprise by the light malt and hops flavours up front. Not nearly as sweet as the smell. Finishes with grains and grass.

Mouthfeel- Light bodied with moderate carbonation. A tad thin.

Overall- A crisp blonde ale by Mill Street. Simple and refreshing flavours which seems to run as a common theme in their offerings.
