From the bottle, it pours a hazy brown with a modest, for a weissbier, light tan head. Lacing. In the nose, it is bready and boozy, in a nice way. Taste is pleasant, with some cloves and bread in the front. Yum!

When I opened the beer and smelt it I saw that it was a classic German beer. Well yes, a good German beer, that fulfills all that can be requested without excess and without exelencias but done with good office. I'll buy it again.

From Hipercor. In Teku glass. Watchinh Vikings 4x05. My new favourite weizenbock. Good mix between swetneess of a bock and feeling of a weizen with a noticeable bitterness at end of sip

On tap at brewery in Aloysius glass.

Murky tea brown liquid with large. Off-white head has decent retention.

Aroma features hops and yeast, with malt in the background.
The taste is more dunkelweisse, with clear wheat, clove and banana notes, and very little hop presence.

M: rather goog, smooth feel with medium body and carbonation, marred by a bit of harshness.

O: mediocre, for Bavaria. 3.25

500 ml.bottle. Clear brown colour, qith an off-white head that fades quickly leaving a lace. Smell is sweet, tropical fruits, mango or papaya, berries, chocolate, though no one is very distinctive and it has some medicinal notes. Medium body, sweet but dead palate. Taste is sweet, caramel, berries and tropical fruits, again with that medicinal notes that makes it a not so pleasant drink.

500ml bottle poured into weizen glass

a: pours a nice chocolate brown with a bubbly two finger off-white head which slowly dissipates to about half a finger. very nice lacing.

s: rich and malty, some yeastiness, a definite spice note (cloves), and fruitiness to it.

t: a nice malty creaminess to it, the chocolate flavor is quite apparent, some spices in the background. very enjoyable.

m: a thin, but the creaminess makes up for it. really enjoyable.

o: haven't had a ton of weizenbocks, but this is definitely up there.

A lucky find at Bastille Falstaff in east Paris. the waiter even said to me 'i hope you don't fancy having another one after this one, because that's the last bottle'.

but boy, did i fancy another one. and i still do.

it's a brilliant change from the common weissbier routine from south germany. this one pours much like a dunkles but the actual smell and taste are reminiscent of better belgian brews, somewhere along the lines of paulaner-meets-corsendonk i would reckon, with a beautiful mix of floral smells with fruity notes at taste never undermining the strong presence of a bananaish wheat. only problem? 7.2%, and it kicks you hard.

this is one beer to be hunted down.

Beer bottle (50cl.), tasted in 2008.

Appearance : dark brown color, with tan foamy head.
Smell : wheat, malty and chocolate aromas.
Taste and mouthfeel : sweet, presence of alcohol, malty finish.
Drinkability : a good beer in the style Weizen bock, but not so complex than Aventinus (Schneider) or Pikantus (Erdinger).

This yeasty delight pours out with a creamy head into a cloudy burnt umber color. The scent is very high-pitched; a little bitter with a metallic zinc scent. Mostly the nose consists of citrus-y hoppy delights (delights? Yes, that’s what I wrote down, so it must have been ‘delightful’ to me at the time).
The flavor is a delicate mélange with hints of coriander, other spices, hops and malts, oh my. The flavor dances across the tongue. It has a medium mouthfeel with fairly well-balanced carbonation that tingles the soft palate and tongue. The healthy yeast content makes it slightly sour as well. All an all a very enjoyable beer that is highly drinkable (or at least my friend ordered round after round it).
