Hazy gold color with a thin white head. Slight citrus aroma. A little better than the average German Wheat (I thought it was on the same level as Weihenstephaner) but I am still not a big fan of the style. It is too wheaty/citrusy for my tastes.

Hazy dark yellow hue, topped by a persistant, moderately thick bumpy head. Grainy, tart wheat and spicy clove in aroma, accompanied by mellow bubblegum and banana esters. Clean, but spot on aromawise for style. Light sweetness upfront in flavor, followed by tartness and bready grain. Yeast esters are understated and comprised of light banana. Spicy clove phenol and mild yeast must undertones add depth to the flavor profile. A bit light in body, lacking that satisfying proteinaceous mouthfeel of a good hefeweizen. Finishes clean, grainy and somwehat dry. Kloster, although a bit tame all around in malt and yeast character, is well balanced and flavorful enough for good quaffability.

This hazy deep copper colored wheat brew pours with a foamy white head and, interestingly, the aroma of fresh buttered corn. The buttery character comes through quite pronounced in the flavor along with a distinctive German weis yeast flavor. The finish is crisp and clean. This is a very drinkable and flavorful representation that I really enjoyed.

This beer poured a cloudy gold color and left a nice foam white head, that subsided quickly and left little lace. A good deal of carbonation. The aroma was of hops, clove and a little citrus. The flavor was of hops and clove. The finish was a bit tangy. A good summer beer, but I think it's hurt a bit in the finish by the clove(a little to pronouced).

The appearance is a hazy deep golden with orange highlights. Nice big fluffy head is gone quickly but the beer still shows some clinging ability to the glass. Some spicy tones on the nose. Clove and nutmeg. This beer has a really nice tartness to it. A bit of phenolic quality too. Good vanilla tones too with a bit of a spicy pepper zest to go with it. Medium body and extremely easy drinking. Has been one of my favorite hefe weizens for quite a few years (along with Paulaner and Summit).

Starts off with a big foamy, fizzy head. Very pleasant aroma of phenols, like cloves, and fruitiness, with slight hints of wheat. Slightly dark gold and filtered. Overall nice taste, not quite as strong as I expected, but the qualities that make a nice wheat beer of taste and refreshment. The taste of wheat is actually quite light. No bitterness, but a little bit of dryness. Carbonation is high and lends fullness to the feel without being heavy. I enjoyed this beer.

Possibly my favorite for the style and from the brewery. Even though hefeweizens tend to be a monolithic group, that is, one does not differ much from the next, I find Cap Brewery's offering to stack up well against, and may even surpass many of the classics (Paulaner, Hacker).
You know what you are getting here: hazy staw, fruit (banana) esters. Clove and banana on the tongue. Nice subtle malt background to provide support.
Glad this is a year round style rather than the typical summer seasonal. Though I tend to gravitate toward this during the hotter months, it is a nice change of pace from the robust beers that dominate my cold weather drinking patterns.
This review may make the beer and the style seem mediocre, but that is far from the case. Quite a nice brew here.

I'm not a big fan of this style, wheat beers have a somewhat lemony taste that usually seems sour to me...this is one of my favorites of the style (reminds me of the Penn Brewing wheat on tap)...nice, consistent haze, good straw/estery (leaning toward the banana) flavor balance and a smooth (not sour) finish...
