This place was great. The beer selection was really decent. They had all their own brews plus some Belgians and German beers. They even had cups and jars of hops and barley out there for you to smell. I think it was cool, because i myself have never smelled these things. The also had one of the better bratwursts i have had. It came with sour kraut and a Pike's XXX Stout mustard. It was a great mustard. The server was on top of his game as well. I went to go use the restroom and when i came back my food was allready waiting for me. It was excellent. Would definitely go back again for sure.

We visited the Pike Pub and Brewery for a tour of their facilities. The tour guide we had was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and understood what we were interested it. The brewery was bigger than I had imagines, and looked very well established. And the few beers we tried tasted great. I would definitely recommend the tour to anyone. And try their Barley Wine, it's fantastic!

Took the whole family for a brewery tour and dinner. Our tour guide was outstanding. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about Pike beer and beer in general. The tour was fun and extremely informative, we learned a lot about the ingredients they use (including getting to smell fresh hop), Their brewing process, and lot of other information about their brewery.
Dinner was fantastic, the food was excellent and they even have a really decent kids menu. The beer selection was great mostly Pike beers, but it is after all their brewery and they make some pretty excellent beers. The price was pretty spot on for what you get which is a great atmosphere, great food and beer, and extremely helpful and friendly service.

I had a weekend in Seattle in July of 09. I was able to make it to two brewpubs and found the selection at Pike to be excellent.
The location to one of Seattle's tourist spots, Pike St. Market, worked well for me because I was a first timer... The brewery would make it worth returning to deal with the crowds.
The Bar itself was not too crowded at Noon on a Saturday but by the time we left it had filled in quite a bit.
Bar tender was entertaining and generous with an extra item added to the sampler.
Food looked good but we didn't try anything.

Stopped by during a whirlwind 3-day tour of the city following a business trip. Looking for lunch and perhaps a tour. They don't run scheduled tours, but the maître d' said he'd go try to find a brewer or the owner. We ended up getting a semi-private tour with the owner, Charles Finkel.
The atmosphere was much more brewery-centric than many other brewpubs, in which the brewing equipment sits behind glass or in the back of the place. At Pike, the brewpub is literally built around the brewery, with the equipment in a vertical setup through the center of the place. Very cool.
They had quite a few beers, so we picked up a flight with lunch, and were not disappointed. The pale and IPA were standard and solid, but the rest of the beers were well above average. Great stout, excellent tripel. The top two beers, however, were their Kilt Lifter (Scottish Ale) and their Tandem (double ale).
Our server was great, giving us recommendations on the food and stopping by to see if we needed anything else.
The beer selection was solid -- even though they mainly served their own beers, there were plenty to choose from. And the food selection was excellent, as well. Far more variety than the standard pub fare.
I ended up getting a beer-braised sausage and my buddy got a burger... at this point in the day, we were famished, so perhaps our opinions were a little biased, but it was one of the best lunches we had in Seattle.

I really liked this spot in wonderful Pike Place market, and we visited it several times over the course of our stay to enjoy the delicious brews they had there. It has a strong brewpub vibe, with a lot of the machinery visible. I popped by in the afternoon one day, and they were roasting barley, which made for the most wonderful smell.
After ordering a sampler I found that I'd be happy to have a pint of any of the brews they brought out. Particularly good was the XXX Stout, which I managed to get a couple times before we left. Other standouts included the IPA and the Monk's Tripel.
Service was decent, and the food was standard pub fare, and nothing remarkable.

Of all the places to have a drink in Seattle, this one is my favorite. There are few places in the world as great as Pike Pub and Brewery to have a beer and kick back. I don't know how many beers I have tried there, I do remember that they were all pretty damn good. When you go, don't forget to purchase a cigar from their awsome selection. I, myself enjoy drinking whatever they have on tap with a Macanudo while playing a game of pool. It's in a great location in downtown Seattle with Pikes Place right out the door. Piuoneer square is also right down the street. In my opinion, this is the perfect place to end the night.

I stopped into The Pike again today for lunch and a beer. Once again it did not disappoint. The bartender was prompt and immediately told me what was not on the menu. Today's treat was the XXXX Stout on cask dry-hopped with Saaz hops. It was excellent. The IPA was tasty but seemed to lack the big hop aroma I was hoping for. With no Double IPA available on draft, I finished up with the Tandem--very nice and drinkable Belgian-style dubbel. The ruben was delicious and the only disappointment was they had no Double IPA on draft and no tours today. If you are in Seattle near Pike Place market, make this a priority.

I visited this place when i was looking at colleges back in 2008 but it made quite the impression on me. The staff was extremely friendly and even though i was not of drinking age, they were more than happy to enlighten me to some of the finer aspects that go into making the beers they offer. The food was standard, with a decent selection, burgers sandwiches, fish, steaks etc. What i remember most was the selection of merchandise available, decor and location, that made the atmosphere one regrets leaving. All in all, this place made a large impression on me and i felt that they deserved to be recognized for this on the best beer reviewing site in the world.

Really cool beer 'memorabilia' if you will. While the location may turn some off, because of its popularity or tourist aura, its nonethelesss pretty cool that a brewery of this caliber is in the Pike Market.
The service was outstanding and knowledgeable. Damn if that Old Bawdy ain't the greatest barleywine I've ever had. I mean, that v. Bigfoot on tap whooo. And drinking it at that beautiful back bar? I was close to giving a 5.0 on the atmosphere. Selection is good as well, couldn't get the DIPA, but the ipa, the stout, the barleywine, that is about just right for a visit. Wish the gift shop stuff was a little more reasonably priced, I mean, there is the advertising component of having peope wear your stuff you know. That is my only complaint. All around, very enjoyable, always check it out when I'm in Seattle, or WA in general.
