Pours a light/medium amber color, with a half inch head that leaves lacing throughout drinking.
Smell is very strong on and refreshing right after pouring but seems to settle after a few minutes out. At first smells of mildly strong hops and later you can smell something citrusy .
Taste is good especially halfway during the glass the beer shows its citrus flavors and hops not bad at all.
Mouthfeel is good.
Conclusion this beer is a good session beer for experienced craft beer drinkers. For noobs there may be to much flavor.

Pours a slightly cloudy gold - juuuust this side of amber. Lacing up nicely.
Not a whole lot of malt going on here for as dark as it is. Mostly, there's astringent hop bitterness up front that give way to a sort of grapefruit sourness.
Probably just fine on a hot day; not terribly interesting to me.

Average looking, kinda tan and mostly clear with rising bubbles and not a lot of head or lace.
Aroma is typically blonde ale, a little sweet corn and some straw/grassy notes with a light maltiness. Flavor follows suit. Body is light and quite easy to drink, refreshing and just a little slick on the back end.
Overall it's enjoyable, perhaps not my personal favorite from Pike, but still tasty.

Had this at Uncle Uli's in Leavenworth. Crystal clear straw color with a nice white head. Floral and sweet notes in the aroma. Very smooth and malty flavor. Very drinkable. Light malty sweetness with mild bitterness and a dry finish. I'm not a huge blonde ale fan but I think this one represents this style well, and is another good beer from this brewery.

A - Hazy golden orange, finger of head dissipated to thin cover, consistent lacing
S - Grassy and peppery, light fruit, and a touch of grain
T - mellow citrus and pepper hops, quickly followed by crisp grassiness and biscuit and grain malt
M - fairly light with crisp and mild spiciness
O - Very much a classic pilsner flavour and feel, close enough to a blonde ale and worth a purchase either way

Review from notes.
A: Pours a light golden color, rather clear. Small white head on top that is gone quickly and leaves behind no lacing.
S: Very faint hops and some cereal grains. Pretty basic.
T: Some doughy malt mixed with faint citrus and a light flowery flavor.
M: Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Pretty light and easy drinking.
O: Most American blondes really don't do much for me and this one was no different. Again, nothing really wrong with it, average.

[Suggested Glassware: Shaker Glass]
The pour was a hazy medium orange with a slight brownish hue and an average (1-2 finger) white creamy head, which did allow for some fair streaky lacing.
The aroma was of a light grain malt, floral hops and a sweaty yeast with notes of citrus (orange), apricot and a mild peppery spice.
The taste a tad malty with a mild apricot sweetness from the start but quickly progressed into a hoppy bitter taste with a note of citrus peel and a slight peppery finish. The flavor stuck around for quite a long time with a mildly hoppy fruity taste left to linger.
Mouthfeel was light in body and dry in texture with a prickly carbonation.
Overall a nice crisp, hoppy Organic Ale that had just enough fruity sweetness to take the harsh bite out of the hoppy citrus peel ending...

On tap into an American pint glass on board an Argosy boat on Puget Sound. Had this one just as we were rounding Blake Island.
Pours a slightly hazy coppery color w/ a thin film of foam on top.
Aroma is hoppy, floral, slightly grassy.
Taste is a blend of biscuity pale and munich malts and floral hops. There's something else here I can't identify, a mildly unpleasant dank basement quality I've gotten from a few other beers. Something in the water, malt, or hops but I'm not sure what it is, vaguely reminiscent of overcooked green beans or broccoli. It's faint enough not to be offputting but certainly isn't making me enjoy this beer any more.
Mouthfeel is clean and balanced. About what you'd expect.
Overall a decent pale ale, aside from that vaguely musty quality on the palate. That's enough reason not to have this again though, given the crowded field of better pale ales out there.

Had on-tap at the pub in Seattle.
Pours a light golden colour, slightly translucent, but without real haze. Head is a filmy, wafty and ultimately empty white. Lace is patchy, but intricate where it forms. Looks pretty generic.
Hops on the nose are vegetative and earthy, with almost a burnt tone to them. They're slightly weedy: in the sense that they give fresh vegetative aromas, but they're slightly unsavoury even so. Some musty grain comes though, which gives it a blast from the macro gun. Eh.
Taste is similar, but slightly better than the aroma, mostly due to the grain character taking on a more truly malty, German-style pils-like flavour. This matches somewhat with the touch of biting, phenolic hop bitterness on the back. Feel is empty, however, as is the beer as a whole, mostly.
Pretty dull beer. Not particularly impressed.

Pale it may be, but I'd categorize this as a blonde.
lightly chilled 22 oz. bomber into a shaker pint. Probably should have been colder, actually. No discernible bottling date, unless the "194 B" on the label indicates that it was yesterday, which I find improbable.
Look- Clear deep gold with half a glass of loose crackly foam. Falls to a film within a minute or so. Decent lacing.
Smell- Bready with a hint of roses and... strawberry? Something "citric", but not really citrus-y. Starfruit, perhaps. Swirling brings out a toffeelike sweetness and the faintest hint of alcohol. A bit peppery. Clean, no-nonsense, but not one-dimensional, either.
Taste- Follows the nose, quite malty but there's enough earthy, herbal spice to keep it from being too sweet. Golden is a good descriptor, makes me think of bread pudding made with a dollop of light molasses. Finishes with soft-edged citrus and biscuit. Faint mineral aftertaste, but it's barely there.
Mouthfeel- Light-medium body for a blonde, soft carbonation. Just dry enough, very clean. Drinks like iced tea.
Overall- Light, refreshing, soft feel, and good flavor for a blonde ale. Pretty good for a $3 bomber, a nice summer drinker. I'll probably get it again at some point.

A - Pours a hazy orange w/an off-white head that quickly dissipates. Lacing is moderate.
S - Smell is of various tropical fruits (peach, orange, mango), balanced w/toasted caramel malts and subtle, piney hops.
T - Taste is of smooth, toasted bready caramel malts, w/notes of mango and orange. Hops balance out the flavor, but don't really show any dominance.
M - Mouthfeel is medium bodied, w/light carbonation. Very sessionable.
O - Overall, I should have tried this sooner. It's one solid pale ale!

Poured and inviting hazy yellowish orange, 2 finger off white head that stays for a few minutes leaving decent lacing.. Smells of relaxed hops and sweet malt. Taste is mostly sweet caramel malt with hops balancing it very well. Overall a perfect beer for this nice spring afternoon.

Enjoyed on tap at Sazerac restaurant at the Hotel Monaco.
A - Brought to me with about a finger of white head that dissipates pretty slowly. Light Light amber in color. Slight ring of lace around the edge of the glass.
S - Clean and hoppy. Not too strong but there are definitely hops present.
T - VERY well balanced. Not your typical west coast over hopped pale ale. Nice and sweet up front and well hopped on the finish.
M - Light bodied with medium carbonation. Just right.
O - A very well balanced pale ale that doesn't assault your taste buds with tons of hop bitterness.

Pint at the brewpub. From notes.
A - Golden, bright, gentle carbonation coming up. One finger of white head with rings of lace and a film of retention.
S - Citrus, grass, light biscuity malt.
T - Honey, grassy, light biscuity, malt, some noble hop.
M - Strong carbonation, light to medium body, some honey in the finish.
O/D - Good and flavourful for a golden ale. Not extreme but well done.

Hazy golden honey color with a thin geriatric head.
Fruity aroma with some caramelized malt notes.
Classic "touring a craft brewery" wort-like malt flavor with fruity shades and light citrus and resin hops.
light-to-medium body - the beer is sweet and malty up front and through the mid-palette and then finishes with light bitterness.
This is actually more enjoyable than it seems.

Pours a cloudy dark golden orange color with a one finger off-white head that quickly settles into a thin lasting ring. Spots of lacing left behind.
Slightly earthy aroma with some bready yeast, light fruit and faint spice. Kind of bland in the nose really with hints of apple, grass and straw.
Medium bodied with a crisp hop bite up front that lingers over the sweeter notes and bready yeast into a slightly dry finish. Pale malt backbone with hints of grass and straw along with some zesty spice and apple. Well balanced, refreshing and easy to drink.

On tap at the brewery. Poured a pale gold with a finger of off-white head. Bready aroma with a slight citrus hop presence.
Moderate carbonation, creamy, and light-bodied mouthfeel. Flavors of mild, bready caramel with some light pine, grapefruit and grass.
A little underwhelming, but the flavors opened up after a few minutes and this was actually quite pleasant and easy-drinking.

Sometimes all you need is a lighter beer to feel good. And that's what I'm going to drink tonight. From a 22 ounce bottle that lists a 5.5% ABV, on to the beer:
Soapy looking inch thick head on top of a body that is translucent pale gold with small bubbles that race to the top. Persistence of the head is solid, and it leaves a few strips of lacing. Some carmel, diacetyl, a little veggie note in the nose.
It does the job. Grassy hops lead off and then comes a tint of diacetyl. Faint citrus notes are most resemblant to grapefruit. Time seems to cut into the diacetyl and make it slowly go away. Out come sweeter fruity flavors. The carbonation is surprisingly jumpy from the get go; honestly, given how easy it was to pry-off the bottle cap from the bottle, I feared that the beer may be undercarbonated. Still, I don't have a whole lot to complain about.
It took some time, but Pike Brewing has arrived in Orange County. To all the hop bombs I can easily grab from the shelf, this is a fair alternative for those who aren't looking to get their palate thrashed in a pinch.

Aroma:
Sweet malts, slight toffee. A little fruity.
Taste:
Malty up front with a slight dry bitterness at the end. Very malty, bready, toffee, slight buttery. There some doughy from the yeast. Hop is very subtle, I get a little earthy. Medium bodied. Carbonation is light.

It’s more like an English Pale Ale than American Pale Ale. It’s pretty good beer.

Has a bright brown color with a smell of hazelnut, citric taste probably orange with a dry finish, strong mouthfeel.
The taste of this beer scream APA all over it, at bar I probably have no more than 2. But this beer was really worth the trying.

Appearance: Pours a pretty clear yellow color with a 3" pillowey head that was maintained by a bunch of bubbles rising. It looks like a nice Belgian...perhaps I shouldn't have poured it in a stein. There is tons of lace left on the glass after drinking and the head fades.
Aroma: I initially got a bit of wheat mixed with plenty of American citrus hops. As the beer warms, the hops are coming out more. There is a bit of a wheaty edge coming in too as it warms up. Overall, it is a nice blend for the style.
Taste: It has a healthy dose of American hops in the flavor. They are supported by some light crystal malts, so overall it has the elements of a typical American Pale Ale. Overall the beer is light bodied with plenty of carbonation. It comes across stupidly drinkable, and actually the high carbonation is holding it back a bit. The finish is quite nicely balanced. It tips ever so slightly toward the hops in the end, but the malt is a big player in the finish. I don't notice any alcohol anywhere. As the beer starts to warm up, there is a grassy note coming out that is getting to be a little bit annoying.
Opinion: This is a pretty good Pale Ale overall. It is drinkable and has a nice balance. The grassy note is a bit out of balance, but overall that is a pretty nit-picky thing. This is one of the better examples of this style I have had, and I would definitely recommend giving it a shot.
