This is a 22ozer of "The Pike Seattle Steam Ale" which is apparently aka Pike Pale which is also apparently AKA Heirloom Amber Ale (though by my count, APA is not amber ale, and neither of those is steam beer, which is in fact a lager). Cold and served in a tapered pint glass. Beer pours decidedly cloudy and orange topped with big white bubbles (failing to form a head).
Very little aroma. Or flavor for that matter. Mildly bitter with a hoppiness that's as much dull as it is citrusy. Carbonation is moderate. Dry and without aftertaste, and does well for drinkability, but not going to blow anyone away.

Pike Pale Ale has a medium, off-white head, decent lacing left behind, and a bubbly, clear, orange-golden appearance. The aroma is of sweetness, bread, and bread crust. Taste is of the same, with an iced tea note coming through. Bitterness is not high, and the mouthfeel is mostly watery. Pike Pale Ale finishes semi-dry, refreshing, and enjoyable. Overall, this is a really nice one. Another winner from Pike Brewing.

Review from notes.
A: Poured a slightly hazy copper/amber color with a small white head on top, very thin that remains as a very thin cap. Minimal lacing.
S: Like the IPA, lots of caramel with some very faint citrus hops.
T: A little hoppier than the aroma indicated, and certainly inline with a pale ale. Caramel and some citrus, mostly as light zest.
M: Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation.
O: Another decent beer from Pike.

On-tap at the brewery (or the brewery's outlet?) at Pike Place Market in Seattle.
Pours a hazed slightly amber golden hue. Head is a fine ring of white with solid persistence. Lots of carbonation, very light body. Looks okay, overall.
Nose is very empty, however: there's a light caramel to it, and just a dusting of hops that feel like they're old or oxidised. Not much else, I'm afraid.
Taste is a bit better, as the caramel comes through with more robustness, and the hop characters do hint a little at citrus peel, although the bitterness they generate leaves a husky, earthy character on the back palate. Feel is light, but it's enough to support the hops at least.
Overall, it's OK, but somewhat depressingly OK. It's not bad, just pedestrian and extremely dull and boring. This pretty much pushes it to "sub par" for me.
