Trying to be fair to this brew...It's not a wit, it's not a Ami wheat ale...it's a hybrid..

Has more of a hefe/wheat ale look. Cloudy Aprocot. Not much in the way of head or lacing.

Here's where the hybrid begins...orange peel, coriander mixed with a semi-tart citrus...doesn't mesh that well.

Citrus notes of an American Wheat Ale dominate things from frist sip. Slight sourness followed by some spiciness more akin to a Wit.

Mouthfeel certainly on the lighter, creamier side as per a good Wit

A fence sitter...pulls from both styles but doesn't hit the notes to be one or the other..

Nice looking, tan and pretty clear with some rising bubbles and a nice, lasting white head that left nice lacing.

Aroma is spicy, coriander and citrus, lemon peel, a little wheat and some yeast.

Flavor is again spicy, a bit more like a wheat beer but with nice citrus, coriander, and just a touch of bubble gum.

Body is light and carbonation is smooth and mild. Very easy to drink.

An enjoyable witbier. I bought three different Pike bombers today because I've really liked their beers so far. Nothing changed here, still good stuff in my book.

I bought a bomber of Pike Dry Wit in a bottle shop. Poured in to a pint glass.

Pours a shiny gold color, clear, with a creamy white head. Thee are very few bubbles in the glass suggesting mild carbonation.

Smell is sweet soft fruit aroma pears and melons with some sweet sugary notes.

Taste is sweet bread flavor upfront, giving way to some soft fruit flavors, with a mild dry bitter finish.

Mouthfeel is light and crisp, with a dry and bitter aftertaste.

Over all nice light drinkable wit bier.

opaque golden/yellow pour with a finger of head which quickly diminished. smells of coriander, orange, nutmeg, grapes. a subtle variety of flavors... bready, bitter/tart lemongrass, orange zest, coriander. light body with mild carbonation.. fizzy on the tongue, easy going down!

a nice refreshing summertime ale, priced at $2 you can't go wrong!

[Best served in a Weizen glass]

The pour was a hazy brownish yellow with a large (2-3 finger) white frothy head that was mostly diminishing, down to a small cap which produced some fair spotty lacing.

The aroma was mild of a light grain malt and a sweaty Belgian yeast with notes of honey, citrus (lemon), pears, wheat and a bit of coriander.

The taste was lightly sweet with a moderate dose of wheat and honey early on, progressing into a much yeastier flavor that had a strong citrus presence and a touch of spice at the end. The flavor lingered for an average amount of time after the swallow with a slight watery feel and a yeasty citrus taste left behind.

Mouthfeel was light ion body and watery in texture with an almost flat carbonation.

Overall an OK Witbier with a mildly light body and taste, that along with the low ABV makes this a good brew for a hot summers day when you feel like not getting blotted and having more than just a few...

On tap at the Seatac airport.

The beer pours a slightly hazy, golden amber color with farily good head retention and lacing. The nose is fairly attractive, as I get some light clove, nutmeg, coriandor, some light dry citrus and a noticeable "wheaty" aspect. The flavor profile replicates the nose fairly closely, though the hoppy bitterness in the finish dries this beer out pretty well. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, with the alcohol in this beer no more than an after thought.

Nothing to get too excited about, but a passable glass of beer for an airport bar. In other words, about what you'd expect for SeaTac airport.

Theres something fun about aggressively pouring a 22 oz bomber of a wit or hefe when you want some yeasties! Cloudy gold color with a fine-bubbled white head and lacing is nice.

Nose has lots of spices to it...coriander for sure along with maybe even a bit of Grains of Paradise and cinnamon/nutmeg? Typically I like a wit to showcase the yeast and have touches of coriander and citrus, so I am not liking where this is headed, but lets see how it tastes...

Id be willing to bet there is some nutmeg and/or grains of paradise...neither of which I enjoy. It IS pretty dry as the label claims, not that much sweetness here. The citrus aspect is totally lost on me, I love a nice orange peel-orange flesh flavor...hell, I'll even take a good lime peel/lemon character if it fits alright. This thing is just kinda meh...I am ok with spending the 5 bucks for a bomber to try, but would not buy it again...like all Pike offerings I have tried unfortunately. Waaay too much spice going on and very little beer flavor, no citrus and lacks a nice soft feel of a good wit. I expect a lot more from a PAC NW brewery and Pike continually disappoints in a major way. Shame on you, Pike.

Strong aroma is yeasty with fruity and butterscotch notes and just a hint of - soap? Floral? Rather tempting whatever! It pours a clear solar yellow with a thick, fluffy and rather persistent white head. Yeasty flavor has fruity and floral notes, the former mainly pear, and hints of malt, butterscotch and herbs or grass. Ah, it has spices? They are a bit on the subtle side, then, unless that is the source of the herbal note. Texture is smooth with above-average body and just a little fizziness plus some soapy slipperiness. Overall, very satisfying.

Bomber pours a godl with a white head leaving a small amount of tight, creamy foam.

Smell is spicy, coriander citrus, lacking subtlety, but not unexpected.

Taste is also clearly in the Wit wheelhouse, but just to exaggerated, spice bomb, lacking the nuance of the esters, the oats. No off-flavors though fermentation wise.

Mouthfeel is bone dry, light bodied, to acerbic.

Drinkability is low for me, this is a coriander bomb, lacking the grace of a wit, ester/malt wise, that makes me call it one and done. Another dud from Pike. I'm so open-minded, but these guys are 0-fer a million it seems, get it together!

22 oz. bomber,

A: Pours a hazy burnt orange with a small white head, some good lace.

S: Nice fragrant orange peel, hint of lemon and pastry.

T: Gets more spicy in the flavour, a good amount of coriander and lemon zest. Nice wheaty flavour throughout.

M: Kind of flabby carbonation, not very crisp. Light-bodied, creamy.

O: A solid wit, wits seem to be the Belgian style that American breweries can pull off consistently, this is one to add to the list.

22 ounce bottle - $4.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Slips out a clear, golden-hued body with a plentifully-sized, sudsy, white head.

Smell: A by no means gushing base maltiness in the nose, smelling lightly of crisped wheat spread over by a single sugar packet. A little note of lemonade and orange juice. The nose offers up slightly spicy, gently floral elements here and there.

Taste: Light touches of pale malted barley and wheat with a soft sweetness and hint of grain, yielding an accent of graham cracker. More light qualities of lemony hops along with a hint of orange. Lightly bitter, though still fairly substantial for a wit. Soft floral qualities, delivering just a teensy bit of lavender very late in the taste. Earthy, passably spicy coriander seed flavor. Finishes reasonably dry and fairly clean, though a smidge of spice does linger.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: An above-average wit, I say! A sufficient, satisfying summertime refresher on a muggy, miserable Georgia day in July.

Appearance has a hazy orange gold color that supports a thin crisp head, dissipating fairly quickly. Smell has an earthiness to it with the spice, malt and light fruit. Taste is lightly fruity, lemons, spicey with a taste of the yeast with light hops, overall nothing to complex. Mouthfeel is light but full with good carbonation. A very refreshing easy drinking Wit that would go down good in a session.

On tap at Pike brewery. Pours hazy golden hue with a white, foamy head and lively carbonation. Aroma is of Belgian yeast, flowery hops and some spices. Medium, smooth body. Some Belgian yeast, spices and banana combine on the palate. It seems to me that this brew is a hybrid of hefe and wit.

A- An aggressive pour yields a good inch of head to top this lightly hazy, golden beer. A decent amount of lacing stays on the sides of the glass as the head quickly dissipates.

S- Not much here; lightly skunky with coriander and a wheaty twang.

T- Lightly sour malt upfront with a good dose of coriander adding some flavor along with some grassy hops. Finishes dry and slightly bitter with a lingering coriander aftertaste.

M- Fairly light, almost a little creamy and lightly carbonated.

Pretty mediocre version of the style here. It's about what I've come to expect from Pike's beers, yet they keep enticing me with their shelf of reasonably priced offerings at Total Wine. This one's not terrible, but you can do better, even at its sub-$5.00 price point.

I found this beer to be a rather bland version of a wit. Perhaps the "dry" component contributed to the american mass produced undertones.

Appeared well carbonated and smooth.
Smell was also a typical wit.
Taste was well below what I expected.
Mouthfeel was also weak.

Very few qualities of this beer linger. It would be an easy beer to cook with without imparting too much beer flavor on the food.

Pours a hazy dark golden yellow color with visible carbonation bubbling up and a two finger frothy white head that slowly fades into a thick lasting ring.

Slightly earthy, spicy aroma with hints of grassy hops, pale malt, yeast and citrus. Lots of lemon zest, pepper and coriander with bread ans wheat notes.

Full bodied with a nice balance of earthy hops, crisp light and citrus fruit, zesty spice and bread/yeast. The hops compliment the peppery, coriander spiciness really well creating a crisp bite up front that lingers over the sweeter notes into a slight dry finish. There's some pale malt underneath along with a prominent yeast/bread character and lots of sweet citrus rind. Very flavorful, refreshing and easy to drink.
