Had this beer on nitro in a pint glass at the Big Time.
Appearance: murky orange hue with a thick finger of creamy tan foam. Enticing!
Smell: mild and bready with a little hint of hops. Decent.
Taste: very smooth, sweet malt flavor with a big dose of bittering hops at the end. Hops are a little citrusy and a little earthy in character. Quite nice.
Mouthfeel: super creamy. Sometimes I feel like beers dispensed on nitro can end up disappointing -- the nitro writes checks the body cannot cash. In this case, however, the nitro complements the thick body extremely well and the result is a fabulous creaminess.
Overall: really, a great winter ale. Hoppy, not spicy, and generally quite tasty.

Pours a hazy amber with ruddy hues, ample white head, with small prickly bubbles of nitro. Smell is of coppery malt, some earthy hops, and a mild dose of alcohol. Taste is great, earthy and floral hops greet, followed by a dimure malt backbone, sweet toffee and caramel flit upon the palate. Smooth alcohol burn tells you this will do the trick, while the smooth nitro bubbles keep the heat in check. Mouthfeel is medium-light, making this easily quaffable without having the cloying sweetness of say, Jubelale. The flavors are perfectly balanced, and the alcohol heat makes it seem more fun than one thinks of a beer that needs aging (this one does not, drink fresh!) Overall a damn fine beer, and a refreshing remix from the new brewer!
