Poured into a plastic cup from the German beer garden at GretnaFest.
Appearance: very dark brown; almost no head that quickly disappears. Great lacing.
Smell: Solid malts up front with a little coffee on the side.
Taste: German malts with a dark chocolate finish. Perhaps a hint of anise. Rich and hearty.
Mouthfeel: medium, really coats the tongue.
Overall: one of my favorite dunkels. Robust and very sessionable. Prosit!

A- pours a deep deep amber with an off white head. Head retention is good, lacing not so much.
S- Bready, mild sweet fruit, mild dry hop aroma.
T- Bread, Toasty. Very mild roasted coffee finish, along with light hop flavors.
M- Medium/light bodied, with moderate carbonation.
O- better than expected, and the price is right.

Deep reddish-brown color. Almost a deep copper. Nice white head with some lacing on the glass. Sweet bready smell with hints of maple. Sweet caramel malt taste with a hop bitterness in the finish. Light bodied with average carbonation and gentle bitterness. Overall a good dunkel.

Type: 20 oz on tap
Glass: Weizen
From: Heidelberg in Ann Arbor
Price: $5.50
Appearance: Dark brownish-red. slightly hazy but mostly good clarity. A big two plus finger head that was off-white and fades slowly
Smell: a touch of sweet fruit and bread, just a tad too weak
Taste: very doughy, a slightly over sweet fruit, some slight hoppiness. not quite the balance i was looking for
Mouthfeel: a little under carbonated but otherwise a fine medium body
Overall: good to have a german beer at a german place but not the best one that i have ever had. could use less sweetness and more balance
Serving type: on-tap
