Jack the Ripper IPA is made to order for the Aldgate British Pub, in Shibuya, Tokyo, and probably can't be found anywhere else.

Made to order for the Aldgate pub (Shibuya, Tokyo), this is Baird Brewing's take on an American IPA.
It does a pretty good job of it, with a lovely copper color, and the refreshing hoppy bitterness and citrus/grapefruit character one expects. Although the taste is typically hop-dominated, it adds some other interesting flavors as well, although nothing I could identify so well (it didn't taste particularly malty to me, for instance). There did seem to be a strong taste of cardamom, which gave it a slight bit of Christmas/winter-ale character, without the least bit of cloying sweetness.
All in all a refreshing, interesting, and highly drinkable American-style IPA, and a real credit to Baird (and the Aldgate).
