The appearance is slightly caramel and amber in color, with a rich and persistent rocky head. It looks good, but not like a lager.
The aroma is characterized by soft, rounded malts and a very slight hint of lemony hops.
The taste is light, but with caramel and buttery hops being apparent. The hops taste a bit more like yuzu than I would have expected.
The mouthfeel is soft, with light and small bubbles.
Given that this beer had won a Gold Medal for lager style at the 2010 World Cup, I had high expectations. All in all, it was pretty good but not completely spectacular. That being said, I can still enjoy a number of these.

From a 360 ml brown bottle, abv. listed at 5.2%. Pours out a hazed light amber hue, tall tight spongy off-white head with great retention.
The aroma reveals bright citrus esters with solid toasty, bready, biscuity malt in the background.
Leafy citrus hops tend to steal the show in the flavour and arrive first, mild bready and caramel malt in the middle, then things start to dry out for a toasty finish blended with some mild spicy, herbal hops.
Medium-bodied mouthfeel that seems light and slick at first, yet finishes much fuller with moderate carbonation.
I can't quite wrap my head around what this lager is or what it's attempting to be style-wise, however it's still quite enjoyable. It strikes me as the lager version of an APA in fact, simply cleaner. Worth checking out if you're looking to get in a hop fix.

360ml bottle, not much I can discern from the label.
This beer pours a slightly hazy medium tangerine golden hue, with two fingers of tight foamy white head, which leaves but a few specks of random stricken isle lace around the glass after its leisurely retreat. It smells of crackery white grains, wet grass, and weedy hops. The taste is bready malt, a bit of aged lemon zip, some herbal grassiness, and earthy, floral hops. The carbonation is on the low side, the body medium weight, and fairly smooth. It finishes off-dry, the pale malt lingering, under the oversight of the Nipponese-Saaz hop analogue.
A decent approximation of a good Continental lager - I want to proclaim "Saaz in Japan", but what I taste is, once again, more mere translation (lost, perhaps), in the local manner. Still, drinkable enough, despite the cross-cultural distractions.

This brew pours a light tangello hue with decent carbonation that leaves behind a frothy two finger head and heaps of lacing, the aroma is very lagerish with hints of grains, toffee malts and a distinct fruity hoppiness,it has an average mouthfeel which is very light and well carbonated with hints of salami, grains, caramel malts and finishes with a bittersweet end almost like nectarines dipped in lemon juice, overall not bad but after my last sample from this brewery i was expecting more you have to try it at least once though.

A - Small white head floating on a transparent orange body.
S - Nose primarily of sweet malt and funny german like hops.
T - Firm bitterness with very little sweentess, which many of the other lagers of this style have, and which I prefer. Still a delicious alternative.
M - Nice bold mouthfeel with lovely fine carbonation.
D - Very nice, I wouldnt mind having a tap of this in my home.
From the website - Numazu Lager (ABV: 5.0%): Amber-gold in color, softly floral in aroma and roundly malty in flavor, Baird Numazu Lager strikes a perfect balance between complexity and drinkability. The smooth lager character is accentuated by a long period (four months) of post-packaging cold conditioning. The pinpoint natural carbonation that is achieved during this long period of conditioning and maturation ensures that the last sip is a fresh and effervescent as the first.
