A: Pours a hazy golden amber with a tight white head.
S: Aromas of toffee, mango, peach, tangerine, and lemon take some time to reveal themselves. I was expecting something much more assertive and complex.
T: Notes of toffee, biscuits, mango, tangerine, lemon, pine, and sage are present on the palate. The finish is quick and simple with pine and citrus notes.
M: Medium bodied and dry. Carbonation is crisp. This ale is very straight-forward and drinkable.
O: This is a decent APA, but I feel that it is missing something. I was expecting a beer with much more hop character, much greater complexity, much more personality. In the end, this ale isn't bad, but it is also neither unique nor memorable.

US Pint on-tap from Goodbeer Faucets in Sibuya, Tokyo, Japan (¥900):
This one was quite an enjoyable beer from Baird & about on par with the previous two from the brewery that I've tried; their Suruga Bay Imperial IPA was probably marginally better but this one was still a solid effort. The nose was a lot lighter than expected but things came through stronger with the nose with some good sweetness & tropical fruits coming through in the early going alongside touches of citrus, mango & pineapple being the most pronounced of the fruits which helped make this one of the better beers I tried while in Japan.

It's a tasty Pale Ale, one of my staples in Japan. There's a nice citrus nose to it and the head is an off white. Really good with karaage!
