I can't seem to decode the canning date, but it reads: '0 08 18A 2 B E'

Pours a very hazy and dusky orange color with tiny floaties all over. The head was shy to form, but I ended up with about 3/4" before she fell into the rest of the beer. A ring and nebulous foam remain. Doesn't want to leave much lace, either.

The nose unwields spirals of discarded orange peels, mowed grass cuttings, grapefruit, pineapple, and very mellow pine. Fruity and lightly tropical, while promising some striking hop bitterness. Biscuity malts have a dry fragrance and huskiness. A very nice nose.

Bitter orange, balsam wood, spicy floral notes, mild grapefruit, and a hint of tropical fruit. Grassy, perfumy, and bitter. If I had to guess, I'd say there's a combo of Amarillo, Chinook, and Citra here. Soft notes of permeating alcohol that, surprisingly, don't survive very far into the finish. Nice upfront bitter zap followed by a hoppy and zesty middle. The outro is less dry and grassy. Semi-cake-y malts are practically dwarfed here. This is a hop-monster's delight. Nice representation of varieties of hoppiness.

Not one of the bigger DIPAs, but still... the strength on this is tame! Doesn't have the feel of wasted excess malts, big sugar, big glaze, and big booze. Instead, this drinks close to a regular American IPA. Wet and sudsy with a great bitter afterburn. I'm almost questioning my use of a snifter glass for this beer (but, I'd have slammed it back in a pint!).

An exquisite, yet mind-charging, DIPA. If you're the brewer that produces this beer, you'd have to hold it very close to your heart. A game-changer Imperial IPA. Want to shift your focus off of the pine? Prepare to be programmed! Gandhi Bot!

Poured from a 12 oz can into a tulip. Acquired in a trade from Surge1311. Thanks man!

A- Pours a golden orange, very hazy body with a very small white head that reduces quickly and doesn't leave much lacing. I feel as if I didn't pour it agressive enough to really from a good head.

S- Very floral. Tropical fruits, grapefruit. Fresh evergreen and citrus notes.

T- Wow. This one just knocked my socks off. Big grapefruit and citrus notes with modest pine and resin notes in the background. Huge hop presence without being cloying or astringent. Leaves a subtle bitterness on the tongue that demands another sip. First 5 I've ever given for flavor.

M- Low carbonation, medium-low body. Very drinkable, crisp, and refreshing.

This may just be my new favorite DIPA. It hits all the high points that I look for in the category. It's juicy, hoppy, and balanced. It's intensely flavorful with a light mouthfeel that warrants extreme drinkability. Perfect for any occasion. I just wish I could get more. A+

Can thanks to ILOVESTOUTS, enjoyed in a Hill Farmstead stem.

Pour: Hazy yellow orange, with a finger and half of white, fizzy head. Hangs around as a rim, and leaves okay lacing.

Smell: Big pine and citrus up front, along with some light honey and bready sweetness. Finishes with zesty citrus and light pine.

Taste: The following of the nose I've had yet. Clean citrus, grapefruit, and pine, plus a nice white pepper. Sweetness is characterized but a light honey. Finishes with a lightly bitter pine.

Mouthfeel: Very drinkable, and super refreshing. Bitterness isn't overpowering.

Overal: This beer definitely met my hopes. I loved it. I will definitely look forward to having it again.

12oz can, no date. Bought a four pack while driving through Connecticut.

Pours a hazy orange, almost glowing. One finger head settles down to a nice bubbly coating atop the beer.

Citrus and resin hops. Little bit of grass in there too. Smells very fresh.

This beer is a veritable hop bomb. Lots of grass and pine upfront with sweeter citrus fruits following shortly thereafter. There's a subtle malt flavor, but it's not quite as strong as what I generally look for. It's hop heavy but not unpleasantly so.

Well carbonated, good bodied, I'm happy with the mouthfeel.

Overall, I had mixed feelings. I like it, and recognize that it is a very well done example of the style, but personally, I like my DIPAs balanced out with a little bit more malt sweetness. Don't get me wrong though, this is still a phenomenal DIPA.

Drank from the can (gasp). Did pour a bit into a cup for a look - hazy orange/gold. Pretty standard looking DIPA.

Smelled of straight up hops. Citrus, Pine, Sweetness.

Taste is delicious. Waves of hops with a slight honey-like sweetness.

Mouthfeel was a bit light - would like a bit more body and a bit less bubbly.

Overall - quite tasty. Not quite up to Heady Topper or Kiwi Rising IMHO, but definetely close. Love the smaller cans (take note, Alchemist).

Got this from a trade from JCrandall.
I poured into a pint glass from the can, it has a burnt orange color body with a 2" white head that hangs out for a while then leave a nice foamy lace around the edge of the glass. The aroma of the earthy and citrus hops, is very inviting. The taste has that awesome hop flavor up front, the citrus and earth tones from the hops, then the bitter taste on the back of the tonuge that lingers for a little bit. the mouth feel is great, rolls off the tongue nice and leave a nice bitter after taste, over all this one stands up to my expections of a DIPA

A: poured golden orange in color with yellow highlights and a nice half finger of bubbly head that left some good spotted lacing sticking to the glass.

S: nice hoppy profile noticeable upfront in the aroma consisting of piney, earthy, citrusy and grassy traits. sweet bready malts were present with citrus grapefruit, pineapple fruit and mild grain notes in the background.

T: I liked how the hop character added piney grassy flavors alongside citrus grapefruit which added to the bitterness factor, lemon twang, pineapple fruit accents, hints of mango, very well balanced bready malt notes and a touch of grain.

M: the brew was medium in body with a good amount of carbonation which had a semi bready malty, citrusy, slightly fruity, mild bitter, piney, hoppy and crisp finish.

O: very delicious DIPA I have to admit. I am a huge fan of West Coast hop bombs but this one is putting in work.

Poured from a growler purchased same day at NEBCO. Thanks Rob. Nice orange coloring, 1 finger white head, nice lacing on glass. Aroma of oranges and pineapple with piney notes and some slight hints of grapefruit. Hop aroma definitely noticeable. Taste is terrific--hop forward, slightly bitter, but easy to drink. Initial taste of orange and pineapple with slight notes of grapefruit along with caramel malt. Finish is a slightly bitter and enjoyable. Medium body with very good carbonation. Very enjoyable and dangerously easy to drink. Highly recommended.

T: Citrus here as well with oranges at first followed by pineapple and a grapefruit and slightly bitter finish. There are caramel flavors here as well.

M: Medium body with lowish carbonation, this beer is a little oily feeling and could use a bit more carbonation.

O: A solid DIPA overall. I think this can may have been slightly past its prime, but I can't find a date on it. Still, it was tasty and enjoyable.

Presentation: 12 oz. can served chilled and poured into a pint glass. Big thanks to Centennial getting me this really fresh can. Really excited to give this a try.

Appearance: Bright yellow-orange in color and slightly cloudy. Pours a nice, white and creamy head with good retention. Strong lacing throughout.

Aroma: Big citrus, grapefruit and bitter pine notes from the hops stand out. The grapefruit and pine really stand out. Definitely really fresh. There is a slight malt sweetness that offers up some caramel as well.

Taste: Big bold hop flavors really stand out upfront. Huge grapefruit and pine with some lighter citrus tones. Really bitter hop character overall. The malt gives a slight sweetness but this is definitely more on the bitter side. Refreshing and tasty though.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and crisp. Smooth and refreshing.

Overall, a really nice DIPA. Definitely a step below the best of the best but definitely when fresh is on the next tier. Really bitter and hoppy. If I could get this fresh in my area, it would be something I get a lot.

The beer aerates while gushing from its 12oz can into my DFH goblet. It has a slightly hazy, pale golden body with 2 inches of white head that fades quickly. As the head settles, there is a respectable amount of inner-glass lacing and head retention. The beer's nose is quite citrusy and sweet, but the alcohol is modest and well disguised. The taste is quite excellent with a wide spectrum of hop flavors including a bold citrus, grape, pine, and tropical fruits. The mouthfeel is a little bit too hop forward and bitter (could have used more sweetness for balance), but isn't over-extending its welcome. Overall this beer is a sipper, with a huge hop profile and alcohol content to keep you easily satisfied. I'd love to try this beer again in the future, but many more DIPAs are better.

12 oz. can. Canned approximately 3 weeks ago.

Partly cloudy golden nectarine body. Pinkie finger of dense, tight-bubbled, off-white head. Lots of fresh hop goodness on the nose. Big notes of mango, pineapple, grapefruit, and mandarin orange. Sugary malt base mixes with the fruity hops to almost give it an orange dreamcicle character.

Piny, herbal bitterness up front. Some toasted malt in there as well. Bitterness increases, but big hop fruity hop and malt flavors help offset it. Plenty of mango, pineapple, and sugary caramel mid-palate. The hops become more citrus-y and grapefruity toward the dry finish. Lingering orange, caramel, and resinous bitterness. Medium-full body with a nice, creamy feel. One of the better East coast DIPAs I have had the pleasure of trying. Oh, and the robotic Ghandi on the can is pretty cool too :).

A: Pours a cloudy grapefruit and gold with only a thin white head that settles quickly. All that is left is a thin layer of foam across the top of the beer, but there is some decent lacing as it drinks.

S: The nose is big grapefruit, some pine, big lemon zest, and a touch of alcohol. It smells like your normal DIPA. Solid.

T: This beer starts off with a really well balanced mix of sweet and bitter. I get slight caramel, huge citrus, pine, and a touch of floral. The malt base is robust enough to handle the huge hops in this beer. The sweetness fades out in the middle as the hop bitters take over. The finish is back to a mix of malt and big hops.

M: Medium bodied beer. There is a good amount of heft in here. It's sweet and bitter to start, gets progressively hoppier towards the finish. The hops linger on the palate for some time after drinking.

O: I really like this DIPA. Solid nose, great taste, decent mouthfeel. It's really well rounded. If this were available in my area, I'd pick up a few cans now and again.

A: Hazy Golden Straw Hue, Passes Lots of Light, White Head Ring, Minimal Lacing

S: Orange Peels, Piney, Earthy

T: Orange Peels, Piney, Grapefruit, Grainy

M: Average Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Bitter, Grainy

Overall, I wasnt impressed when I had a sample of this but after getting it from a chilled can, it definitely is much better. There is more of a grainy flavor to this beer than most DIPAs and is a nice change.

A: Pours a slightly hazy pale gold with a smaller than usual head of bubbly foam on top. Clean body. Some bubble action going on. Some decent variation in the color, but I guess there's nothing really special here.

S: Sweet malts overpower the citrus and other hops. This brew isn't as fresh as I'd like, but it should still be good. But, yes, the hops have fallen off a bit. This beer, like Flower Power, is best drank fresh because it's fall's off quickly. But, what's there is good -- the candied citrus, nice hops, not subtle or anything -- you can definitely smell it without trying. Nice.

T: Not much to say. It's kind of a mix between caramel malts and biscuit malts. It's very warm -- the alcohol is coming through a bit. Mildly bitter finish. Taste like a typical East-Coast IPA.

F: Smooth and creamy -- thick and oily. Medium carbonation. Could probably be much better there. Little chewiness that brings out the hops. But, the carbonation drags the score down a bit.

O: I was torn between ranking this and not -- so it's important to know this beer is probably close to 90 days old. It is in the 12 oz can, so it's not too old. The first couple I had fresher were a bit tastier, but not by much to be honest. I'll make a note to review this again when I get my hands on something fresh. Until then - this is my review.

Appearance: yellow/orange bodied beer with mild haze. 1 finger of white head and spotty lace.

Smell: Fresh, wet, dank hops. Citris and pine.

Taste: Surprisingly mild bitterness. Sticky pine resin, grapefruits, oranges, lemon. Dank and leafy hoppiness. Pineapples and mangos. finishes mildly bitter.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation. really smooth and drinks like a 6% IPA.

Overall: This is a great hoppy east coast beer. Its among some of the greats!

Half inch head on an opaque orange juice like colored body. Small cap and collar throughout. Clumpy lacing.

Hops smell sooo fresh here, like you opened a 1 ounce bag of Hop Union hops.

Big time citrus flavor here. Juicy oranges, mango. Yummy. Would guess around 8.5%abv, so pretty on.

Smooth carbonation, medium mouthfeel.

Just wanna gulp it down. Omnom. Would love this as an extra anytime! Hah.

Fresh growler enjoyed the same day I picked it up from the brewery.

A- a beautiful hazy, straw/gold color that has 1/2 finger of head that dissipated quickly.

S - Nose has grapefruit, peach, a hint of papaya some sweetness, a bit of pine, as well as some pale & caramel malt and a hint of alcohol. Some grassy notes perhaps. Not an overwhelming aroma nor very intense.

T - I picked up alot of the same notes as the nose. Similarly, the flavor profile wasn't as robust as expected. Not increadibly complex but still very good. Medium to light body for a DIPA. Increadibly drinkalble. Finishes pretty quickly with bitterness and some sweetness -- a bit dry. Not much lingering on the palate. Alcohol detectable but fairly well hidden.

M - great carbonation with medium/light body for a DIPA. Kind of a slick mouthfeel. Not creamy at all.

O - A very solid DIPA. Worth trying if you can get it.

A: A thin head that quickly dissolves to nothing. No meaningful lacing.

S: Juicy citrus and floral hops and a significant sweetness from the malt. Quite nice but a bit more subdued than I expected.

T: Sweet caramel malt is prominent. The hops are again not as prominent as I expected, although even more so than on the aroma. Citrus and pine with a mild lingering bitterness.

M: Thick and slick.

O: This is a reasonably flavorful beer, but I expected something significantly hoppier. I don't understand the hype around this beer. Based on a concurrent thread, age doesn't seem to be the problem.

Appearance: Wonderful hazy orange. beautiful creamy head. Looks unfilltered and awesome! Nearly perfect!

Smell: perfect pine notes. nice amount of sweetness. some grass and citrus. maybe slightly tame for a iipa

taste: wonderful pine notes. smooth, nice aftertaste. they really nailed the perfect pine to citrus ratio. Great sweetness. Love love love love

A - Pours an opaque copper/honey color, with a 1 finger off-white head that fades rather quickly leaving a nice ring behind.

S - The smell of hops hit my nose the moment I cracked the can open. After pouring, the caramel malts blend with the bitter hop smells nice.

T/M - The taste is toned down from the nose. Carmel malt backbone, with a bitter floral hop aftertaste. Not as in-your-face as other DIPAs I've had before, but still not bad. Medium mouthfeel.

O - Without any dating, I'm unsure of how old this can is. It seems as tho this was a super hoppy DIPA fresh, but it seems as tho some of the hop profile has gone by the wayside. I'm sure this had great potential.

Straight pour from 12oz can to a small (5oz?) tumbler, no freshness dating on the can but this comes from the most recent batch, hand-delivered to me a little over three weeks ago (thanks Adam!) so I’m sure it’s still damn fresh.

Appearance (3.5): Not a TON of head on this, maybe a finger, and it’s bone-white and crackly. The body is a cloudy and kind of a dull honey color, not particularly appetizing. Some solid spots of lace, though.

Smell (4.5): You’ve got to be kidding me. The citrus fruit tones on this are out of control, like pineapple pulp mixed into some limeade—just bright, acidic, sweet, and intensely fruity, especially reminiscent of passionfruit and guava. Lurv. There’s some resin, pine needles, and grass underneath, adding a somewhat more abrasive dynamic to the nose. Does this beer even have malts? Some sweet, bready tones that meld well with the citrus character tell me “probably.” This is dank, too—make no mistake, depending on how you approach it the beer can come off as incredibly dank. Thanks, dry-hopping!

Taste (4.0): A moderate, acidic bitterness leads the charge here, before some almost abrasively zippy, bright citrus tones kind of beat the shit out of your palate—but that turns into a very pronounced bitterness in the finish, which is nothing but grapefruit pith. Except for a light sweetness that creeps in, somehow, just before that long, slow-dying, extremely bitter finish. There’s definitely some boozy heat to this, too, but it’s a nice counterpoint, a bridge between the sweet citrus and the bitterness happening here. The malts stay simply and play a supporting role more than anything, adding an even breadiness with some caramel to ease to punch from those hops. Could be more going on there, but that’s a minor qualm.

Mouthfeel (3.5): The carbonation is sufficient, soft but not cushiony—just “enough,” but not a lot else. Dry finish despite the somewhat oily body, thanks to that dry-hopping again. Medium-weight, no more.

Overall (4.0): This beer, when über-fresh, is fantastic, and admittedly somewhat better than what I scored this. I don’t think this can is more than 5 weeks old right now, but it was definitely better at three weeks, as much as it pains me to say it. So, it falls off a bit. But this is still a great beer. The one thing I will say that it could really use improvement on is the appearance, but beyond that the beer is pretty damn solid. Great hop-bomb, for sure. Seek it out!

pours a cloudy dull gold tone while yielding a 3/4" off white head. average retention and lacing. nose is a bit more subdued than i was expecting - or look for in a traditionally highly aromatic style. citric/pine hoppy with a hint of malt.

the flavor, fortunately, is where this one really shines. citrus and herbal hops dominate while flanked by secondary notes of grassy/pine-y hops and some toasted malt characters. awesome. medium bodied mouthfeel with average carbonation.

overall, while it didn't exactly impress at the outset this one came through in the clutch with a fantastic flavor profile. great DIPA, tasty and well-balanced. does enough to differentiate itself from the many out there. not to be missed for any hophead.

a- cloudy amber color with a large, bubbly head. slight lacing.

s- lots of pine, candied orange. not as strong as I'd hope/expect.

t- juicy oranges/tangerines, some grape fruit, lingering bitterness, definitely pineapple, and loads of bitterness. slight caramel-y malts are present, but more so is that bitterness. the best way i can describe it is like three separate waves (citrus fruits, maltiness, and bitterness) that overcomes the other. i can clearly separate the three layers, but eventually, the bitterness comes out on top.

m- medium bodied, somewhat oily on the lips, but has a dry finish on the tongue.

o- awesome beer. i love it. heady's still better though (duh).

Nice balanced looking color. Hazy and golden. 1/4 white head with lots of lacing.

Smells like fresh citrus and piney hops. Smells great!!

Very juicy citrusy hops with a touch of pine. Grapefruit and orange essence dominate subduing the well balanced bitterness.

Average carbonation with a little hoppy slickness.

I was lucky to find a tucked away 4pack at the bottle shop. I didn't even know they carried it. This doubleIPA is better than
the hype. This can stand up with the dipa big boys any day.
