From the 330 ml. bottle. Sampled on February 15, 2013. No lime wedge.
The pour is yellow to golden with a small fizzy white head that settles down. If it looks like it supposed to I will always give even a light lager a higher mark on hat count.
The aroma has a grainy, bready note to it with a slight clean, hoppiness but nothing jumps out as unique,.
The body is thin and watery. But it would be easy to pound down quickly on a hot day like a glass of water.
The taste seems to have a slightly fuller malt note than other light lagers as well as a nice sweetness to it. It finishes clean. That's about it.

Bottle pour at the BevMo Holiday Beerfest held at Golden Road Brewing in Los Angeles, CA.
Pours a clear light yellow with a foamy white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, and some corn and vegetal aromas. Taste is much the same with a mild hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a low level of carbonation with an almost flat mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty poor beer but it's drinkable enough.

Poured from a bit above the glass gave this clear golden colored beer a medium white head that quickly died to a small bisquity quarter inch froth and thin lacing.
Light sour mash grain aroma with a very light hint of corn syrup coming through.
Very light grain malt taste with just a touch of light bitter hops sneaking.
A very light dry aftertaste on this very light bodied beer.
A very watered down version of an American light lager.

Consumed in the Philippines... the entire month of March.
A: This beer pours a light maize color with a one finger of white head. Head recedes quickly leaving minimal ringlets of lacing on the glass.
S: Nose is corn, grain and grass.
T: Taste is well balanced corn and grain flavoring. Grass accentuates the grain flavoring.
M: Lighter body, moderate carbonation, light crisp feel.
O: Goes down easy, ok tasting, not filling, 5% decent kick, nice representation of style. This is a light larger that for what it is, does the trick. This was my go to beer while in the Philippines. A far better option from BMC and refreshing in the heat.

Pours a crisp gold with a frothy white head that leaves some nice lacing. Otherwise, your typical light beer.
Cloyingly sweet upfront. No sir, I don't like it at all. Not much else underneath either.
Light and corny like a midwestern politician. Boring. The kind of beer you buy when the water's bad.
Why bother?
Second that.

Appearance - Pours a clear golden color with a thick, fluffy white head. Has nice lacing.
Smell - Very grainy, lightly sweet, and corny.. Basically like your typical light lager.
Taste - Light pale malts, somewhat of a metallic flavor.. and a corny sweet flavor.
Mouthfeel - Light bodied with high carbonation.
Overall - I prefer this over the regular Sam Miguels

330ml bottle poured into a pils glass with no detail about best before end.
A:
Pale yellow color with thick white frothy head with very good retention, it leaves plenty of lacing coat all around the downwards passage, high and fizzy yet effervescence carbonation.
S:
Smell of grain and faint malt, no hop trait is detectable.
T+M:
Upfront by grain with very low bitterness in the end. The taste is light and rather dull. The mouthfeel is light and clean but has some bolder body comparing to other light lagers.
O:
Not pleasurable brew unless for someone who prefers something light but still has some booze.

12oz clear bottle - expecting the worst...
This beer pours a clear medium golden yellow colour, with one finger of sudsy off-white head, which leaves a sedimentary cross-section of lace around the glass as it settles. It smells of faint sweet grain, a bit metallic, and mild weedy hops. The taste is somewhat crackery grain, a noticeable rice huskiness, and dead flower/weedy hops. The carbonation is moderate, the body on the tilt between medium and light, and kind of prickly, smoothness a few evolutionary steps away. It finishes mostly sweet, a light muddled graininess having little challenge from the ghostly musty hops.
Well, now. For a 'light' lager at 5% ABV, and 100 calories, you could do so much worse - this beats the pants off of Coors Light and its ilk. Nothing overtly offensive, and full-strength to boot - granted I'd have to be in a climate like that of the Philippines to care any further...

A- pretty average color and head. golden in color. head is light and gone before it can be appreciated.
S- dry, with a corny aluminum background.
T- mildly cardboardy. not a lot of good things to point out except that the taste didn't linger. i'm hoping this beer wasn't stored properly and that this isn't the intended flavor.
M- very watery, but ok for the style.
D- wasn't able to finish one bottle.

I'm not a light lager guy. I'll put that out there right now. But, I try to give every beer I try a fair shake. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised. I much prefer this over other cheaper light beers I've had, including Bud Light and others of that ilk.
Appearance: Poured from a can into a standard glass mug. Nice clean, clear light gold color and good white frothy head (about 2 fingers) that was slow to thin out. Moderate lacing on the glass. This is a good looking light beer.
Smell: an odd blend of roasted corn and grape skins, to be honest. A little odd but not intimidating.
Taste: More of that grape skin like flavor, almost tart. Very mild barley notes. Hops are indistinguishable though bitterness is present.
Mouthfeel: About par for the course here for a light beer. Watery, fizzy, clean finish.
Drinkability: It's definitely of the party chugging variety. Goes down easy and demands a belch or three with every can.
Overall, if I was a cheaper light lager beer guy, this would be my staple. I was not disappointed, though not particularly wowed either. I give it a hearty "meh" and would definitely choose it over other light canned lagers.

Had back in September at Bar One in Phuket while playing bar games with the waitresses and chasing shots. Before the shots, this is what I could tell you.
A- clear bottle showing a fizzy yellow, a little brighter than many light lagers
S- not so much skunky, but grainy and harsh in it's own right- somewhat like MGD
T- the extreme low point for this beer- tart, corny, and with a metallic aftertaste that takes the power of Patron to rinse clean
M- overly carbonated but not heavy by any means
D- apparently it isn't too bad, since I ended up having a lot of them- thankfully Thailand is so cheap so I didn't feel too bad about dumping cash their way

Was abundantly available in Pattaya and Bangkok, so I gave it a shot to cut down on the calories. It poured a pale yellow colour with no head whatsoever. Looked very lifeless. Smelt of metal from the can and grainy. It had a little flowery aroma though, from the hops I guess. The taste was a surprise though, it wasn't that bad for a light beer. It had a decent malt character, and use of hops was evident - unlike the other SM offering I had, the Pale Pilsner. Mouthfeel was thin, which is normal for a light beer. Not highly recommended, unless you are looking out for a light beer in this part of the world.

Found this 12 oz. clear glass bottle in the discontinued bin at Sal's Liquors in Addison, IL. I never knew San Miguel even made a Light so I snatched it up and put it in my cart. No bottled on date or freshness date listed, but they did list the calories at 107.6, which isn't all that light.
The beer poured a pale gold color and made a foamy white one finger head that dissipated in about 30 seconds, but surprisingly left some lacing on the glass.
There wasn't much smell to this. It just had a typical macro lager smell. At least it didn't have a skunky smell, which I was worried about when I saw the clear glass bottle.
The initial taste is sweet, which in itself is surprising for a low calorie beer, but the sweetness comes more from the corn adjunct rather than from a quality malt. Then a significant bitter bite takes over, but it wasn't a pleasant hoppy bitterness, it was just bitter. The mouthfeel was light and the carbonation level was medium high.
I didn't care for the overall flavor. It isn't horrible, but nothing I would care to try again either. If you want a good tasting light beer, I recommend trying a Sam Adams Light.

Poured from a short clear 12 ounce glass bottle into a pint glass.
Small fluffy white head. The body is unhazed and a darker yellow than you usually get from light lagers. The smell is of sweet pale malts, no hops could be detected. While I couldn't smell any hops I can taste some light flowery hops and bitterness.

This is among the worst and most offensive beers I've had, mostly do to an unpleasant, pungent quality in the aroma thjat also dominates the taste.
Light gold, it has a foamy white head that first thins fast but then lasts and coats the glass with some lace.
The aroma is a very unpleasant, eggy, musty old house smell with a hint of bread. Perhaps it is just light-struck, but this is stronger and more unpleasant than I have ever experienced.
The taste is the same, with the unpleasant old-house taste coming through strong at 1st, leaving faint bread-stick taste and a lingering, unpleasant aftertaste. It is truly terrible but doesn't look too bad. I shall ry it again another time but am not too hopeful.

Pours a clear light straw from a clear 12 oz. bottle. A pretty firm white head settles to a bit of lacing in short order.
Smells of corn and cereal grains, a light lager nose, a bit more husky when agitated on the malts. Taste is actually rather sweet for a light beer with an odd drying close that lingers in a slightly cloying manner. Feel is rich for a light lager, likely due to the 'perceived' malt richness. Average drinkability.

Poured a medium straw hue with a one and a half finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and very good lacing.
The smell consists of an overly sweet corn adjunct and a light flowery hop.
The taste featured an almost cloyingly sweet malt.
The mouthfeel was toward the fuller side of the style.
Overall an overly sweet lager that is difficult to finish.

12 oz bottle poured into a pilsner. pours a straw color with a few fingers of white frothy head. moderate lacings and moderate head retention.
aroma is grainy, with a light floral character from the yeast. a stale undertone is the only other discernable aroma.
taste is more of the same. a light grainy flavor with a touch of floral yeast. little else. stale grains in the aftertaste.
mouthfeel is watery.
drinkability is not good. there is not much here in the way of flavor, as one would expect from the style, but the aftertaste leaves one wanting something with character.

Appearance: Poured from the 12 oz stubby pry off clear bottle into a pint glass. The beer is clear, bright gold with a 1/2 inch white head. Head fades to a thin cover and leaves some good lacing. Pretty typical for the style, classic light lager.
Smell: I am guessing if this has any hops they are hop extracts, because it is not skunky, coming from a clear bottle. The smell that there is, well, I did not much care for it. Adjuncty, rotten, moldy, corn. Not very inviting.
Taste: Adjuncts, a little sweet, off flavoring. Overall a bad light macro lager. ABV seems a bit high for the style.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied, prickly mouthfeel. Decent carbonation.
Drinkability: I had one as part of a mixed six pack out of curiosity. I'll not purchase one again.

The smell was really odd, kind of like stale peanuts maybe?
Taste was watery and with a tiny biter aftertaste...just not a very good experience and I truthfully don't think this will ever touch my lips again.

A: Thin yellow color with a short lived and smaller white foamy head. Looks like the dog spit in my beer. Some notes of lacing. Medium low level of carbonation.
S: Grain and adjunct are noted, with an overall corn aroma. Not bad, but typical of a macro beer.
T: Bland light malts and raw corn flavors mask an otherwise boring and uneventful beer.
M: Boring. Touches of carbonation make their way to the palate, but other than that, I may as well be drinking water.
D: I guess on a hot summer day I could wack this down like Ike Turner with a beef to pick with Tina. Otherwise, it's very average and lackluster.
Notes: Cool bottle. Would've been better if it were brown.

Presentation: 330ml clear glass bottle, Corona style. Sealed with a silver crown cap with blue text which also has the price of P(eso)19.00, not sure if that is the individual price or for a six pack. Metallic silver label with a blue band has the words San Mig in a white Germanic scripted text, below which the word Light is in blue, the neck label looks similar to this too. Listed as a Low Calorie Pal Pilsen and listed at 5.0% alc.vol. Freshness date of 08Jun07 appears to be inked on the crown cap.
Appearance: Archetypal straw body with a watery body. Streamers are lonely, the odd one does pop up once in a while. Thin white head runs around and tries to look good but sadly all too soon fades and drops to a thin broken covering, but it leaves some lacing, almost as if to make up for the poor looking head.
Nose: Damp at times with a dunky sweaty finish. Sweet pale malts and some lavender, yeah lavender .where the F does that come from? Weird! Floral and sweet with a frumpy ending all at the same time.
Taste: Geez, this one comes and goes faster than a nervous teenager with a premature ejaculation. High speed middling bitterness blends with a soft metallic trait and some pale malts. Finishes .uaauurrghhhh ..oh my, all too quickly!! Im sorry, that doesnt usually happen to me ..
Mouthfeel: Thin and watery with some redeeming features in so much as it doesnt offend and the carbonation supports where it is able to do so. A plain Jane Light.
Drinkability: Average going, simplistic and median. I cant say that this is a bad brew, far from it, but it just doesnt live up to much either.
Overall: Dragged back from the Philippines by a colleague that knows that I like to try new brews. Nevertheless, this is a miss, but certainly no worse than other Lights out there.

Pale sort of gold color. A notch darker then a Coor's Lite. Anyway, pretty pale. Aroma? Where-not quite wet cardboard. Ok sort of flavor. Mild bitternes but nothing else. Almost seemed to come from the carbonation to give it any flavor. Fairly limp body. Rather clinical and bland. I would pass in a big way. Wouldnt even put it in with BMC.

San Mig Light pours a typical macro yellow with a minimal white head from a clear twelve ounce bottle. Bad adjunct corn smells are coming from the glass. Taste is very light, to the point that it really doesn't taste like anything except some mid corn flavors, which is better than I anticipated from the smell. I've had worse tasting light beers.

Another shot in the dark, but I didn't expect much from San Mig Light after not being impressed with the Pale Pilsen itself. Why do they insist on a clear bottle? Pours golden, with a minor head. It also smells like a generic light beer.
That wonderful watery taste of subpar light beer. The aftertaste isn't so good either, with too much carbonation. Mmm..this is by no means a good beer but if I was watching my weight and looking for a buzz, 5% alcohol is okay..
