Reviewed from notes. Poured from an 11.2 oz bottle into a Peg's snifter.

A: Pinkish to red with a bit of haze. Forms a thin, very light pink head with medium carbonation levels.

S: Tart and sweet cherry - almost like a cherry jam. The tartness brings to mind almost some rhubarb as well.

T: Very sweet cherries, like candy - think a cherry Jolly Rancher or Life Saver. There is some tartness still, but that almost makes me think more of a Jolly Rancher. Light tartness on the finish.

M: Light body, decent carbonation levels, and only minimal alcohol presence.

O: Not an altogether bad beer, but it misses the Kriek mark entirely. Nor is it as complex as the much-superior New Glarus fruit beers. It's just way too sweet. But maybe for a dessert beer it's acceptable.

Poured out of a 12 oz bottle into a Boulevard Smokestack tulip glass. No discernible 'drink by' or 'bottled on' date.

Appearance - Body is a rich, dark pinkish red, like grapefruit flesh. A finger or so of foamy, cotton-candy colored head. Silky, but fleeting lace.

Smell - Aroma of cherry juice with hints of cinnamon candy and a touch of vinegary edge hiding in the background.

Taste - Sweet and sour to start off, progressing into more of a cloying sweetness and followed by a twinge of sour on the finish. It seems like most of the sour that is present is a result of the natural flavor from the cherries. A hint of dryness as well.

Mouthfeel - Pleasant carbonation up front morphs into more of a syrupy feel, but with a hint of the feel of a rouge sparkling wine

Overall, probably not a "kriek" I'll have again. To much sweet, although for someone who does like sweeter beers, this one is probably pretty tasty. The body was full, and the aroma was enticing.

A red beer with a very fast settling head. Almost no head left after 2 minutes. Nice color.

Smell of sweet, gummibear cherries. Very sweet and syrupy. Like the preserved cherries on pastry.

Taste is sweet and has an artificial cherry taste. No complexity. Mouthfeel is quite thick and drinkability is low. The sweetness is lingering. Although I am not a big fan of the style, this beer lacks any of the fresh, sour and fruity tastes normally found in these beers.

this beer pours with a large light pink head; it is a cherry red color.

nose is sweetened cherry, no lambic or hardly even beer notes at all.

taste is sweet cherry kool-aid or something similar. vague bitterness and metallic hints in aftertaste.

cherry-sweet pop, not sure where the beer is.

Sampled this one at the brewery. Presentation was good in a nice chalice and having a cloudy pinkred beercolor with lasting and good pink foam. Nose was less; artificial nose, sour without the lambicarome. Nowhere anything lambic or beerlike. Taste was cause of the enormous sweetness even worse presenting just cherries bublegum and candy. Beer that probably lots of litle kids would like but far from enjoyable to me. Luckily the rest of the beers they served were of a better standard.
