Moderate depth to the creamy finger plus head, deep tan color with very good retention, same thing with the lacing, broad streaks which stick around for some time. The liquid is a murky muddy brown with orange rust tones and it lightens around the edges, tiny bubbles form active beads. The nose is sweetly roasted featuring chocolate, caramel, butterscotch and licorice, some plum, black grape and cherry fruit scents, not devoid of hoppiness but not that green, some straw or hay, floral but wish it had more leafiness, ends with an uptick in smoky tar, alcohol is present. Full-bodied and somewhat foursquare in the mouth with less carbonation than needed for its density. Again plays up the cocoa, mocha, caramel, cola and creamed coffee aspects, here balanced out by a metallic earthiness. More breadiness and yeast, mild dose of esters. The florality gets muted, same for the dark fruits albeit there’s some prune in there. Opens and unclenches a touch through the finish as orange citrus and hops cleanse some. It is boozy but not unbalanced, little about it conveys a sense of an IPA, but drinkable for sure.

Poured into a shaker pint glass, color is dark brown, head is tan with fine bubbles and presents about 1/2 inch thick.

Smell is heavy towards the ipa side of this style with moderate grass and earthy hops; roastier malts follow with notes of the caramel.

Taste seems to teeter between the lines of baltic porter and ipa, not sure if it enhances either style in this version. The taste leans more toward hoppy baltic porter, maybe bitter baltic porter, which seems to be more in line with what they were trying to do: make baltic porter add hops/make darker ale with lager yeast.

Mouthfeel is on the ipa side with a bitter, sharp finish with lingering sharpness on tongue.

Overall, its decent attempt at a blended style but not sure if the blend works.

Dark brown, yet thinner viscosity, almost half inch of beige head. Aroma was burnt licorice, malt, toffee and chocolate malt.

Taste was very bitter, dark fruit stuff and licorice. Lots of roast. I don't dig the style, but this is prolly an average representation of a style that I would be ok with if it went away.

Pours a finger of head on a dark brown body.
The aroma is roasted malt and bright lemon, grapefruit and pine.
The taste is creamy and citrus bitterness, an interesting, but good mixture.
The texture is soft and smooth.
It's really enjoyable.

Dark. Advertised as a Baltic IPA. Seems more like a Baltic Porter. Rich, chocolate, long lasting foam.
