12oz bottle to Rock Island snifter.
A: Dark brown pour with transparent tawny and amber hues; pretty decent tan-ish head lacing.
S: Malty, sweetness, roasted & toasted grains, Maple wood, light hints of earth and vanilla. Cocoa?
T: Maple syrup notes emerge more here, blending with the other woody and nutty characters for an earthy sweetness. Toasted sugars, brown sugar, dark caramel, pecan and some other nutty flavors.
MF: Medium body with softer carbonation; fluffy, in the same way milk/lactose sugar stouts are. Pretty silky and velvety but not full-bodied. Some dry nutty notes as well.
O: Pretty decent; much like the Chocolate Bock this thing suffers from a similar 'artificial' essence to the flavors. Still, a nice porter.

This poured nice and had a nice head on it. Bottle was slightly shaken and room temperature when poured so the head was bigger than normal. Slightly unpleasant aftertaste. Probably wouldn't purchase it but my wife got 2 bottles from a friend so we had to try it. I uploaded a picture of the label.

Growler filled at Yorktown, Beverage, Yorktown, NY ($16.99)
Pours super dark, near black, fluffy head, not a long laster, but leaves sheeting o'plenty.
Powdered sugar nose with some light chocolate and vanilla notes.
More tasty milk chocolate on the palate, and, no doubt, nutty in the finish. Moderate sweetness, but no near to the cloying level.
Better then decent with a chocolate/nutty dessert, or would work fine in a pork or chicken marinade

THis poured out as a very dark brown color. The head was pretty strong looking and tan in color. The lacing on the glass was pretty impressive I thought. The smell of the beer had some nice roasted malt aromas along with some maple sweetness. The taste was a little in the rusty metallic side untill it wamred up a little. Thats when the maple and the roasted malts kind of came out. The pecan is hidden in the aftertaste to mealong with some additional lingering maple. The mouthfeel of the beer was pretty good, drinkable and yeah full bodied. Overall I enjoyed the beer quite a bit actually. I would drink it again.

32oz. growler from City Swiggers. Poured into a pint glass.
Pour yields a 1.5 finger thick, frothy, off-white colored head with good retention. Beer is a dark, purple-brown. Lacing is thick and layered with great cling. A nice looking beer.
Nose is subtle maple, caramel, brown sugar, lightly boozy sweetness, and a touch of nuttiness. Moderately aromatic but well integrated.
Opens nutty. Some roasted malt smokiness mixed with maple sweetness. Brown sugar and caramel mix with a twinge of booziness in the middle. Sweet at the finish with more caramel and pecan shells. Finish is slightly bitter and nutty with a sweet, sticky, aftertaste. Refreshing, flavorful, and interesting.
Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth and silky in the mouth. Goes down slick and easy. Finish is accented with a slightly lingering and sticky aftertaste. Really drinkable.
This one was a really pleasant surprise. Nice sweetness balanced with just a touch of roastiness. Great body makes this one easily drinkable. Definitely one to look out for.
