This being a collaboration between two hardcore craft beer enthusiasts I was super excited to crack this one open after I returned from Savor. I was curious to see what category this beer would fall into but I'm not sure it can designate only one clearly. That being said I am trying to keep a very open mind, and wanted to see the vision that these two had in mind. As I have read in the letters between the two collaborators on this beer, Jim and Sam were trying to invoke the essence of what Savor truly is into a bottle. A revolutionary concept in it's own right. Savor's beginning were realtivly new 4 years ago but now are massively rejoiced. The pairing of great craft beers with great gourmet foods. Beer is such a versatile beverage it can literaly pair to any cuisine. With all that being said here is my best shot at reviewing Savor Flowers.
First off this was hands down the hardest cork to release from any bottle ever! But it poured a slightly vibrant caramel/ honey color with big bubbles and very moderate lace. Very clear and didn't have any head retention to speak of. lace discipated quickly and I get an immediate burst of rich maple syrup, flowers, and mohogany wood. As it warms a bit I find it presents the floral bouquet a bit more but still has a mask of burnt sugar and perfume.
The first draw was a bit confusing to my senses but came to a multiplex of flavor profiles. Strong biscuit foreground with a pleasant rich herbaceous and slightly sweet aftertaste. Makes me think of a hot toddie that my parents gave me when I got sick as a kid. Maybe that's why I like it so much. Warm alcohol rings your bell as it warms as well as the sweet notes of rosemary and some spice. I find the combo daring and quite amazing. The finish is nice on the tongue with a lingering aftertaste of syrupy waffles and bright, bright!, perfumy flowers. It has the mouthfeel you would expect from a 10 pointer but not the ease of drinkability. This is defiantly against rapid sipping but warms your chest well. I'm a fan of this one and I will be holding on to my Saturday bottle for awhile to cellar.

Thanks again Brandon for sharing this long time want of mine.
The beer pours clearly with a thin white halo of white head. The nose presents huge herbal notes of Ginger, flowers, pencil eraser, and mint/white sage. It's held up really well. The taste is right on par with ample herbal flavors and a sweet, well carbonated finish. The mouthfeel is sweet and herbal, drinkable, with well rounded flavors. I must reiterate, this is definitely unexpected and impressive for being 2 years old. It's a very delicious beer that I would definitely try again.

Bottle: Poured a bright golden color ale with a medium size foamy white head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma is a very weird mix between some overly sweet notes with loads of flowers notes (kind alike hibiscus) with some oak and liquorish notes. The aroma was definitely too strong at first and I almost though I would have to drain pour this one. Taste is an interesting mix between some sweet malt notes with light candy like flavours and notes of flowers (not as strong as hibiscus but in the same realm) with light oak and liquor notes. Body is about average with an oily texture with medium carbonation and light warming alcohol notes. Well brewed with good level of complexity, a tad less sweetness would have been welcome and this one would be a good candidate for letting bread a bit before drinking.

A mixture of metals color, bronze, gold and copper. Small 1/4" white head on the top of it, nothing in the way of lace or retention, but I don't think gruits are supposed to? Definitely delivers flowers part of the aroma, smells like a chick's bathroom. Flowers, potpourri type of stuff.
Taste, tastes like a chick's bathroom. I hope you like flowers, because this must be just like taking one of those crazy fan two hose beer funnels, taking a blue moon in one hand and a vase full of flower water in the other and bonging them at once.
This is what peeps drank back in the old days? I think not. Unless like, every chick was super hot back then, and you never needed to drink to make 'em less um, I mean, their personalities better.
No way man, people were tough back in the day, you would have gotten your ass kicked for drinking this stuff.

We had this beer at tasting two weeks ago at my cousin Peters place. Great beers and great fun.
This beer was poured in my Essen Christmasbeerfestivalglass (what a word for wordfeud!) I traded this beer for a threepack of Westy's with an American who was with the Bonbeertravelgroup at the abbey in november 2011.
This is one hell of a strange beer! I really can not place this beer in a group. It is drinkable with it's very special smell but i would not buy another bottle if i saw one.

I had the opportunity to try this beer at a beer tasting at my uncle Peters place. This was a bottle Thijs brought with him. Thanks Thijs for sharing.
A - An orange looking liquid with a very, very thin white head. No visible carbonation.
S - A cough drop liquor smell, with some honey sweet & laurel odor.
T - A cough drop liquor, a lot of anise and sugar is added to this beer. I doesn't make me a fan.
M - A medium carbonation with a medicinal aftertaste.
O - Not my style and not my taste.

A: This poured clear gold with a little white head.
S: It smelled like rose water and ginger, with some citrus zest and oak and herbal hops.
T: It tasted like sweet honey with some rose water and ginger and herbal hops, and a bit of oak and citrus zest. It had a clean and very sweet aftertaste.
M: It was slightly thick with moderate carbonation. Decent body.
D: This was a very unique and strange beer. Scent is about what I expected, but the taste was sweeter. Body was only ok, and it wasn't that easy to drink due to the flavor profile (despite alcohol being well hidden). Interesting but not recommended unless you're really curious.
