A: Color is bright and resembles a cognac. Creamy head of ecru settles and leaves some sparse rings of lace on the glass. A lighter appearance for a barleywine, but still nice.
S: Bright and fruity, with a heavy dose caramel, dark fruits, citrusy hops, and loads of sweetness. Not especially complex, but definitely bright and enjoyable. Alcohol is at a minimum and adds positive intensity.
T&M: Fruity and immensely sweet up front with lots of caramel and brown sugar. Boozy dark fruits, pithy citric flavors, and a hint of spicy/herbal flavor. Cohesive and enjoyable, but not quite as dankly hoppy as one would expect. Body is medium/full with a lightly oily feel, but it's still light for a barleywine.
D: All in all, it's a decently accessible barleywine that packs a nice flavorful punch. When one considers the price of the mixed pack, it tastes even better!

Pours a deep ruby brown with a meringue like head that slowly dissipates but sticks lots on the sides. Some earthy resinous hops are still evident but you can tell they are a shadow of their former glory. There's a solid shot of brown sugar and caramel in the aroma as well as a hint of wet cardboard. The flavor has become a lot sweeter than I remember with lots of sweet dark sugar and caramel with some dark cherries and raisins as well as just enough resinous hop to still provide a hint of balance. Medium body with a sweet sticky mouthfeel and a moderate level of carbonation. This is still a nice beer, but I think it in that in between stage where the hops are fading and allowing the malt to shine, but it needs more time to complete its transition.

Poured from the bottle a reddish-amber color with two fingers of off-white head.
Aroma of honey, grapefruit, and sweet caramel malts.
Tasted of light citrus, honey, and a rich caramel maltiness. The nearly-10% abv added a boozy bite.
Medium bodied and sticky with a lighter carbonation.
Another interesting brew from the LongShot series.

deep dark brown with a small tan head. Very thick looking with a somewhat reddish tint to it. Lots of side glass lace as well as a rich foamy layer left on top. The smell was very full, lots of roasted malts and caramel with an odd sort of sweet hoppiness melded into the back end of it. The feel was great, very full and creamy with a great residual smoothness to it. Huge sweet caramel and sugar flavor that was folded over with hints of chocolate and even a roasted coffee. This was a very fine strong ale,
