12 oz bottle into a nonic pint glass.
A: Pours a dark copper color with good clarity. The head is a nice-looking two finger offwhite shade. While it fades rather quickly, it does leave nice splotches of lacing down the side of the glass.
S: Fairly typical for a middle-of-the-road IPA. Caramel malts counteract the earthy hops. This one seems to be pretty pine forward - normally not my cup of tea - in its aroma. I'm a bit disappointed that the German hops used aren't more prevalent here.
T: Put simply, it's mellow and inoffensive to a fault. Slight caramel malts to start give way to a slightly piny/earthy finish with a slight grassy linger. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this one, just that's it's devoid of bold flavor or interesting characteristics.
M: The somewhat thick, creamy body and weak carbonation overwhelms the lack of strong taste provided on the palate. Nonetheless, it's quite easy to drink on the grounds of 'there just isn't much to it'.
O: This is an IPA with training wheels. It won't offend any senses...but neither will it impress them. Hard to return to this one when there are so many excellent IPAs on the shelves.

A-pours a golden copper color with white sudsy head with pretty nice retention
S-lots of pine and resin, some subtle malt in the background
T-more pine with some citrus notes in the finish, the malt provides a nice balance but does not lend much to the flavor
M-medium bodied
O-really nice and well balanced IPA. It isn't out of this world but definitely nails the style.
