Pours a deep golden color, very clear with large effervescent bubbles throughout. Full foamy/rocky white head with beautiful lacing all around the glass. This settles to a thin film over top. The final pour left a little sediment in the glass and there was a slight haze to it.

Has light fruity banana and clove aroma. I found it very fragrant with some floral aromas. There's also some sweet malty/yeasty bread underneath with some subtle spiciness.

The flavor is much like the aroma with banana and clove being in the forefront with a mix of fruity esters and some peppery spice. It has some nice sweet malt and some dry yeasty bread under that with very little hop bitterness.

It's medium body and highly carbonated. It still manages to be somewhat smooth, yet fairly dry. A slight warming sensation as well.

Overall it's a very light fruity, flavorful beer with a nice complexity to it.

Appearance: clear honey gold body with a one finger white head that leaves some lacing. There has to be sediment on the bottom of this big bottle. This is the problem I have with big bottles. After I poured the first glass I was able to swirl the bottle to get some of the sediment off the bottom of the bottle. Now the color is a misty amber with gold highlights.

Aroma: light pineapple, with a hint of spice – seems like clove; the aroma was a little better on the second glass – so, get that sediment (that Belgian yeast) into the glass.

Flavors: sweet pineapple-mango, hint of herbal notes, touch of spicy clove, nice touch of amber honey

Mouthfeel: smooth, semi-creamy feel, low carbonation that gives a super fine fizzy feel, light sweet tropical fruit, red banana on the aftertaste

To the Point: pretty much what they say on the bottle, “…subtle herbal hop character combined with the tropical fruit and spice notes of its special Belgian yeast.”

They also call it ‘complex’ – I’ll call it semi-complex at best. They also say ‘flavorful’ – yes it is – if you like Belgian-style ales. This is a simple tasty Tripel-style. I like the taste and the mouthfeel. It is very easy to drink and the 10% abv really does not play a role. I don’t get any alcohol peppery feel or warmth. (now that I am near the bottom of the bottle I do feel the 10%)

The packaging – the bottle – is super cool. The price is right.

Appearance: Medium amber color, decent head of white foam that settles and vanishes relatively quickly. Light carbonation.

Smell: Fruit, alcohol, some floral notes, candi sugar. Something behind that smells a little off-putting, but I can't place it and it's minor enough not to detract overly.

Taste: The alcohol is apparent almost immediately. This gives way to banana, citrus, light hops, spices. But the alcohol never leaves the stage.

Mouthfeel: Bracing, medium body, scouring.

Overall: Overall, not too bad. There are much better tripels out there, but this one is worth a try.

Strong, with some bozzy after taste that doesn't put me off, though I know a lot don't like that. A lot of fruit. First banana, then a but if citrus. I got a bit of earthy notes, though I'm pretty sure there's no brettanomyces used in the brew. All in all a likable ale. I'll pick up a couple more bottles before they're gone. I wonder how they will age.
