Poured into my weizen glass. A slightly hazy honey color. Billowy white head, but it doesn't last and I'm not getting any real lacing.

Lots of banana and clove in the nose, along with some grassy hops and a bit of lemon.

This beer is a bit of a mess on the palate. It's grassy and a bit citric -- the banana and clove that I caught in the nose are not really there except in the burp (seriously). Seems like it doesn't know whether it wants to be a hefe or an APA.

Mouthfeel is too thin, though the moderate carbonation is nice.

Here's the thing -- this is not Sam Adams' best offering by miles, but it's still very drinkable. It's faintly bitter and quite refreshing. It's just not a very good hefeweizen, IMO.
