A: Pours a lightly hazy dark golden yellow to orange in color. The beer has a finger tall light beige head that quickly reduces to a patch of thin film and a slightly thicker ring at the edges of the glass. Minimal lacing is observed.

S: The aroma of this beer is intensely artificial cherry with some light underlying hints of wheat.

T: Like the smell, the taste of this beer is quite one dimensional with the artificial cherry flavor dominating. There is a very light hint of wheat in the beer but it is almost cough syrup like.

M: Light bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly thin/watery.

O: This beer is refreshing and easy to drink but not a beer that I want to have more than one in a session - it is a little too artificial cherry for me.

This is a very mild fruit beer. It is nicely balanced and doesn't thrill or offend. I wish it did.

It barely tastes of wheat or yeast as it should and the cherry taste is very subdued.

It is a nice refreshing beverage, but not a profound one in any way.

Very strong black-cherry-soda aroma, generally fresh wheat beer taste and feel, especially good super-ice-cold, mild cherry flavor comes through, but ultimately drinks more like a soda than a beer.

Unfortunately for me this beer presented a very strong almond extract finish that remained on the palate and conflicted with many savory foods.

Seems to be the perfect beer to accompany chocolates or a jelly doughnut.

I had this beer poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass.

A: Mildly Hazy Golden Straw Hue, Passes Lots of Light, White Head Ring, Minmal Lacing

S; Cherry Extract, Wheat

T: Wheat, Mildly Tart Cherry

M: Average Carbonation, Light Bodied, Semi Sweet

Overall, I finally slayed this whale...somebody brought this to my house previously and it was cold and in my beer fridge, great on a 90 degree day and you dont care about quality. Tick.

An odd taste to be sure. Kind of reminds me of cherry powder candy...poured into a diluted sam adams.

Thats really all there is to say about it. I mean...if you want a beer that tastes kinda like cherries, this accomplishes that goal. But I can't really fathom why you would WANT to beer to taste like cherries.

Still, its passable on drinkability.

A: Golden/orange color, with about a half finger of head when poured. lace sticks around for a little while but eventually fizzles away

S: Traverse City cherries, oh yeah the good stuff. No hoppy smells here.. little sweet malt smell

T: Crisp and refreshing, sweet cherry bite with lots of cherry flavor with a medium amount of carbonation here.. cherry bready taste and feel at the end.. finishes smooth to me.

M: Refreshing.. Not too strong but just right. cleans right off the pallet with little lingering flavor..

Overall a great beer. Drink it year round if im not in the mood for a sam boston or a wild craft choice.. Easy to find wherever you are if your in a pinch and want something out of the ordinary.

A- a decent appearance here, with a golden body and a light orange hue when held to light. Some fluffy white head as well.

S- wheaty malt and sweet syrupy cherry and other fruit. The cherry is a bit cough syrup like.

T- All I can think about is cherry coke. That really is the first flavor, probably because both have that artificial cherry flavor. For me the point of cherry in my beer is to use sour cherries to add both tart and sweet flavors, which this one fails to do. It is just sweet and malty.

O- Pretty tasty but just really one note. But it has its place. Really good for the summer.

Poured from bottle into pint glass

Appearance – Pours a golden color with a two finger white head. The head fades over a few minutes to give a medium amount of lacing.

Smell – Sweet cherries aromas are big and bold. They are matched with a nice bready and sugary smell which well al combined create an enjoyable cherry bread aroma.

Taste – It begins with a sweeter bready and malty flavor. This malty flavor has hints of darker frits which develop more and more as the taste advances. In the beginning there is some cherry, raisin, and plum. As the taste advances the cherry strengths at the expense f the other fruit flavors and is accompanied by a lighter brown sugar taste. At the end the big cherry with the still very present bready base leaves a clean cherry bread taste on the tongue. It a very linger and delicious end.

Mouthfeel – A slightly higher than average body thickness with a medium level of carbonation. The average carbonation is perfect as it makes it a very refreshing brew, while the body really allows those nice flavors to sit on the tongue and soak in.

Overall – With great flavor, aroma, mouthfeel and price this is one of the best fruit beers out there. It is a great balance between malt and fruit making this one fantastic and great drinking brew.

Cloudy overall with a nice head in my weiss glass. Decent lacing with a lingering cover of white foam. Smell is very cherry with light wheat malt twang and a touch of breadiness. Taste is not bad with a strong dose of cherries and mild bitterness, a touch of a metallic edge that lingers in the finish . Feel is light with a nice amount of carbonation and quenching dryness. Overall a decent beer. If you like cherry flavors this is better than decent. It brings the taste and drinkability of a good summer quaffer with the cherries driving the beer bus. Worth a try either way as it kinda grows on you if you like wheat styles like hefe or wit.

look: 3.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 2.5 | overall: 3.5

Appearance - Pours a clear, bright orange with a white, finger width head which dissipates quickly, leaving behind a spotty lacing.

Smell - Lots of cherry aroma. Not a whole of of other layers come through the nose.

Taste - Predominately cherry. A bit of wheat sits behind this. Not a whole lot else.

Mouthfeel - Light and undercarbonated. Could use more bite to give the cherry flavor a nice zing.

Overall - A simple cherry beer. If you like cherries, you'll at least like it. If not, then probably best to avoid. It's nothing special, but I do dig the flavor.

Poured bottle from summer styles variety pack into Sam Adams perfect pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a hazy dark golden color with three fingers of foamy white head that disappears in about a minute.

Smell: Smells very strongly of sweet cherries, slightly artificial. very little hop aroma.

Taste: The cherries don't over power the taste of this beer. I nice balance of a refreshing wheat beer with a subtle tart sweetness of the cherries.

Mouthfeel: Not overly carbonated, slightly watery in feel, pretty thin, but still refreshing.

Overall: Would definately be nice on a hot summer day on the lawnmower. Pretty drinkable, but nothing outstanding.

Served in a signature Sam Adams pint glass.

Appearance: A very light hazy gold, a white head rising to roughly 1/3" off the body.

Smell: Like the bottle says, cherries and light hops.

Taste: Lightly sweet, you feel the fruit plus an after taste of bitter. Very easy to drink.

Mouth: Medium, not hard at alll.

Overall: Not crazy over "fruit" brews but this definitely isn't a bad one. Never hurts to have one, don't like who cares your girlfriend will drink the rest. Salud!

This beer has a light, golden color that you can see through. The head pours thin and stays thin with very little lacing. The color is light and adds to the light and refreshing aspect of the beer.

The smell is...wait for it...CHERRY! What else is there to be said. Maybe...CHERRY!

The taste is...on the count of Cherry...wait for it...CHERRY! No bitterness, no hops, and the sweetness is entirely derived from...CHERRIES!

The mouthfeel is light and refreshing, not even too carbonated, which is a classic downfall of light beers.

Overall I like this beer. It is lively and refreshing. As a rule of thumb, if you hate cherries, do not drink this beer.

Poured into a pint glass from a bottle on April 16. Color was hazy gold with some straw to it. Just over a finger of head. Light circular white lacing on the top. Some wet film on the sides.

Big whiff of cherry, naturally. Reminded me a bit of Cherry Garcia. Really couldn’t get anything else, but I don’t think I really needed anything else. Of course I’m also a sucker for the Cherry Chocolate Bock.

Pretty much what I expected on the taste. Just a nice, smooth cherry flavor that went down rather easily. Good lingering aftertaste.

Light-to-medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Nice smooth finish, lingering well after the sip.

Maybe I’m a bit of a sucker for these fruit beers, but this one was pretty good. I’d definitely give it another try.

12 oz. bottle poured into pint glass.

A: Slightly cloudy light amber with a substantial white head. Doesn't look too shabby.

S: Smells purely like cherries.

T: Thankfully not as cherry forward as the smell. It starts off fairly cherry forward, but slowly subsides to a more husky grain and wheat taste. No hops to speak of. Kind of a weird off taste at the end.

M: Creamy. Medium-thick. A bit too full in my opinion. Hurts drinkablity.

O: I salute the creativeness of this one, but the execution is lacking. This is a cherry forward wheat beer. I think a better idea would to have a wheat beer with cherry notes. This one is too heavy on the cherries.

It's not horrible, though....

This beer is a disaster.

A: It looks decent. Like a Boston Lager with a dense, frothy white head. It looks drinkable.

S: What. The. Fructose. It smells literally like a cherry soda.

T: It tastes, unfortunately, like cough syrup, cloyingly sweet and sickeningly artificial. I'm given to understand that real cherries are involved in the process somehow, but I can't visualize this in context with the finished product. At the very, very end of the finish there's a burst of wheaty, warm, inviting malt that I wish was the whole beer. Alas but it is not. This is beer that prisoners would drink if they were out of pruno and were bored of sodomy.

M: Syrupy. Only enhances the cloying character of the taste, though in this case "enhances" only means "makes worse."

Overall, this is a beer that I would not give to people unless I wanted never to see them again. Got two of the damned things with my SA Summer Sampler. The Kolsch and Belgian Session had better be spectacular to make me buy another 12, because the Sam Adams Cherry Wheat is punishment from God.

A: Pours a straw yellow color with a fingers worth of head that actually retains fairly well... first SA regular rotation beer that I've seen do this. Thought I'd never see the day

S: Cherries stand out by far the most. Some slight wheat malt as well, but the cherries really dominate

T: Follows the nose, cherries at first followed by more cherry and wheat malt. Finishes with more sweet cherry. Well... this is certainly a cherry-forward beer. I wouldn't even bother putting wheat in the name, regardless of whether it's there or not

M: Light bodied with moderate carbonation

O: Don't go into drinking this thinking it will be subtle cherry... because it is NOT just a hint... The cherry consumes this beer. Also, don't drink this if you don't like your beers a little on the sweet side... And that's an understatement. It might get low ratings, but I for one enjoyed it. Probably because 1) I like cherries. A lot. And 2) because I like sweet beers. A lot. You are warned

T: Taste reminds me of cherry soda, with a slight dry finish. I don't know, I can't get past all that cherry flavoring. I can't knock this beer for being what it is, but wish it was more, beery, if that makes any sense.

M: Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth.

Bottle of 355 ml, bought in a megastore in Mexico.
Pours a honey-like colour, semi-transparent, with a two finger soapy head that after a while becomes half a finger. That half finger has a very good retention. Quite an activity in the glass with lots of bubbles.
Sweet aroma of cherries, if there is something else there I can't find it, the cherries aroma is overwhelming.
Great taste, I don't think I have tried something similar before. Sweet and spicy. Medium thickness on the body and light carbonation.

S - Straight-up Black Cherry Soda with a touch of crisp wheat. Luckily, I love Black Cherry Soda, but not particularly in my beer.
T - More cherry flavors with some light biscuit malt and a mild bitterness in the finish.
M - Light and crisp, with a medium0thin body and good carbonation.
O - While not my favorite Sam Adams offering, it is an easy-drinking Wheat Beer that could be a nice gateway.

12oz bottle from Sams mixed 12

A- Translucent Yellowish Gold with a very slight reddish hue. Slightly below average carbonation with almost no head.

S- Very very sweet cherry smell. Almost smells like cherry cough syrup.

T- Not nearly as sweet as the smell. Sweet cherry taste mixed with a wheat taste that kind of balances it out a little bit, a little bit watery.

M- Light bodied, feels a little bit more carbonated then it looks, alcohol well hidden, decently sessionable.

O- A lot of people I know like the Cherry Wheat, however I find it to be a huge disappointment. The smell is way too artificial and there isn't much taste in my opinion. I'm not usually a huge fan of fruit beers, however there are a few good ones out there. The Cherry Wheat unfortunately is not one of those. It is not terrible, it is decently sessionable, but definitely not a beer I would drink a lot.

Pours a clear golden/straw color with a large fluffy white head. Nose is wheat and lots of sharp cherry. Taste is a decidedly non-yeasty wheat base that has just a hint of funk. Lots of sharp bitter cherries that may be a tad too strong for my taste. Mouthfeel is med-light and quite high carb with lotsa dryness.

Fruit beers are tricky and this one pulls it off. Wheat dryness and cherry dryness go well together. Did I mention this is dry and tart? Maybe a bit too much cherry going on. Worth a try and a good beer.
