Notes:
This beer is brewed with a blend of barley malts and crushed wheat to gently lighten the body. True Blue is a crisp blueberry ale with an assertive blueberry nose followed by a more subtle blueberry flavor in the body of the beer. We feel you won't find another beer quite like it.

Poured a dim gold with a finger of frothy white head. Retention is weak, lacing is minimal.
Smells of water, blueberry, mild malt.
Taste is fresh and sweet. Blueberry dominates with the sweetness, weak malt in the back.
Mouthfeel is light bodied and smooth, pretty refreshing.
Drinkability is average. To me this is an average blueberry beer, which would be great in the summer.

12oz bottle into a Duvel tulip.
A: Clear orange body; thin head of frothy off-white foam. Mediocre retention and lacing. Ok.
S: It's fruity, but more in an overripe stone fruit kind of way than a fresh blueberry one. Some sweet caramel malt, too. Not exactly pleasant.
T: Malty up front, with caramel and toasted bread leading in to some blueberry flavor midway through. Dull, bittersweet finish. A bit of fruit on the aftertaste, but not much. Pretty boring.
M: Highly carbonated medium body; starts out a little prickly but ends with some nice creaminess.
O: I had this back-to-back with Atlantic's Bar Harbor Blueberry Ale, and was surprised how strikingly different they were. That beer, while far from spectacular, did a nice job highlighting the blueberries. Fruit is more of an afterthought here, but sadly the base beer isn't too interesting.
Cheers!

Tasted On: 08-10-2012
Freshness: Not indicated
Packaging: 12 oz. brown bottle, pry-cap
Glassware: Weizen glass
Purchased: Received in a trade
Color is a dark amber, cloudy beer, with a nice sized off-white head. Retention is good, with a fair amount of lace on the glass.
Aromas are fruity and of blueberries, plus malted wheat. Overall the aromas are not strong.
The taste is of berries and fruit, sweet with a slight tartness as well. A low level of earthy bitterness keeps the flavor in check.
The feel is light and refreshing, with carbonation somewhere between medium and high. Aftertastes are fruity and somewhat sweet.
Overall this is an enjoyable wheat/fruit beer, best suited for the summer.
Thanks to Greg for this one!

Poured into a Sam Adams perfect pint glass
Appearance: 1/4 inch head, clear, orange brown in color, high carbonation
Smell: big time blueberries—light caramel and bread
Taste: toasted and pale malt at first followed by big time blueberry in the middle to the end—
Mouthfeel: light body, sweetish start with a bitterness in the middle that becomes sweeter to the end, medium-high carbonation
Overall: A very good, clean, and sessionable blueberry beer. There are several blueberry beers I prefer but this one is in the top ten. I like how the blueberries are natural tasting and the beer is not too sweet.

Into a pint glass:
A: clean copper colored body with a half finger white head, there was some sporadic lacing leaving no rings. The lacing gently slid down the sides of the glass.
S: centered around the blueberries with just a bit of malt in the background.
T: was the same, blueberries followed by the malts.
M: light to medium, sessionable, crisp and clean - very balanced.
O: this is an excellent choice for a blueberry ale if one decides to go for one. I would definitely have this again.

I believe I've heard of this before. Just never reviewed it until now.
Pours a clean copper color with a one-finger head into my glass. Wonder what's to come?
A nice whiff of blueberry greets the nose followed by a clean touch of malt.
Ditto on the mouthfeel. Very crisp, very clean and there's a good hint of wheat. It all seems to compliment the blueberry. Not syrupy like others.
Finishes clean too with a very desirable blueberry flavor.
I'm going to throw in a few organic blueberries in this. Very good and not as cloying as a few others I've had.
