This beer must be out of retirement! Had on tap at the NW Kearney location on 3/15/08.
Pitch black with very nice substantial tan & khaki ringed head.
Mostly a mild coffee aroma with some sweet sugar scents, hints of powdered cocoa and cream.
Big coffee flavor with a dose of sweet and mild bitterness make this a big malty coffee treat without becoming cloying.
Excellent medium-heavy mouthfeel with strong-moderate carbonation that keeps it from being too sticky. Very drinkable, not acidic.

Picked up a growler of this @ Laurelwood in NE. New seasonal that was put on draft 10/10 according to the sign, so this is about as fresh as I could hope for, and it shows!
Nice pour, brown/black with deep amber highlights. Light cappucino foam cap. From a few feet, there is a wonderful aroma of bitter chocolate nibs.
Fantastic smooth java stout flavor, slight burnt bitterness, but not harsh in the least. Extraordinarily smooth. Mouthfeel is smooth, slightly thin, but to the advantage of being more drinkable.
Nice brew, seek it out next time you're in the pub area.

Got the very last pour of this at the original pub. Thank goodness.
Beer sits deeply brown; near black with just a little opacity that gives it a slight grey look in the sun. No head worth note, despite blowing the keg.
The aroma is of chocolate malt and coffee. Mild though, and really welcoming.
Taste is stellar. Smooth breakfast malts with luxurious chocolate and coffee compliments. Body is still thin enough to make it dangerously drinkable, even during the summer. There's no acrid or sour flavors, which makes it all the more yummy. Let's hope this menu gets kept on file.
