Went for the brewery tour on Saturday and hung around to sample some beers and food. The tour was given by the restaurant manager which was a little bit of a disappointment but he actually knew quite a bit and was able to answer most questions. The equipment is beautiful...state of the art German stainless steel tanks and fermenters. They recently upgraded their brewery from 25 Barrel to 50 Barrel system (a $2.5 million project!).
The restaurant/bar is pretty much set within a large warehouse which is set around the brewery, so the atmosphere isn't your typical cozy close-knit brewpub feel. Nevertheless it is very open and roomy. The bar is L-shaped and faces the fermentation tanks which can be seen through the windows. There is a pretty large sized dining hall >20 tables. The food was pretty good and the brick oven pizza is probably what they sell most of...after beer of course.
Now to the important part. The beer list includes all their flagship beers (Hop Devil, Prima Pils, Lager, Golden Monkey) and many of their seasonals which include those that are not bottled. See their homepage for the most up to date listing. Drafts come in small (14 oz) or large (22 oz). I believe they offer a sampler too but I did not ask. Most recently I tried the cask-conditioned Hop Devil which is about as good as it gets, St. Boisterous Hellerbock and the D-Town Brown.
Growlers are available to to fill ($7-10) depending on which brew. Empty growlers are sold there for $11 (a nice ceramic German one). You can obviously bring your own too.
Nice place to hit if your in the Philly area. You need a car to get there though. I'll be back for sure.

Typical brewpub. Actually built in an old Pepperidge Farm bakery. Plenty of seating. Have been there many times and have never had to wait for a table. It can be noisy because of the very open, high-ceilinged room. Food is upscale bar food. The beer selection is strictly Victory beer. They don't sell anything they don't brew. That being said, they have twenty or so beers of different types on tap. All in all a good place for dinner or beers with friends.

This place has grow quite rapidly from it's humble beginnings. I guess that I am a little spoiled living within a 10 minute drive of one of the better breweries in the area. I've had some really great beers and some beers that I didn't really care for, but that's what makes this place amazing. They make so many different kinds of beers that you are bound to find something you like. The menu is good with fresh ideas and some old standbys. So if you are in the area I recommend you stop by and check it out.

I headed out here on a whim just to check the place out. The food was fairly average though good for the price. The beer selection was good, though oddly small given that the place is a brewery. I did appreciate the availability of hand pumped beers though.
There wasn't anything particularly remarkable about it. Everything seemed clean, the service was good but overall there was nothing particularly special about it that would bring me back.

Space was large, open, well-lit. Reminiscent somewhat of a warehouse, but ample seating, and standing-room bar service available for those waiting for tables.
Overall beer quality was spectacular. Many beers sampled between four people all of which were above-average examples of their respective genres and some of which were definitive. Service was somewhat slow, but it was a Friday night, and server was receptive to numerous esoteric requests from the resident vegan (who was not me).
Incredible selection. A great mix of session ales and heavy-hitters with a great variety of styles from across North America, Britain and continental Europe. Four cask ales, including the Storm King and the flagship HopDevil were available, which exceeds any cask selection I've seen.
Food was tasty, nothing overly special. Pizzas were properly cooked, wings were generously proportioned, and I'm told fish&chips and sandwiches measured up well.
Good value for money. Highly recommended.

Only had the chance to visit the brewpub once while I was living in Philly. Very large brewpub area, but was still packed. Good quality and diverse beers available on tap. My friend and I each got a sampler and shared to hit pretty much everything on the list. Nothing disappointed and the majority were very solid brews. We both got pizzas, but neither one of us thought they were that good - both tasted like cheap frozen pizzas. Don't know about the rest of the menu though. Service was excellent when we were there despite it being busy. If I was ever back in the area, I would definitely stop by again.

The service was quite horrible. Since it was just myself my wife and daughter, we seemed very unimportant to her. She forgot or ignored our drink order, and I was forced to go to bar to get them myself. It was greatly disappointing. The potential here was great but overall I would pass when there are so many other great options in the area.

We were seated very quickly. Upon being led to our table, we were in a very large room with what I described to my dining partner as a "caffeteria feel". There was a very large party in the room (maybe 30 people) who were very loud. I had never been impressed with Victory's beer in the bottle at home, but I thought I'd give it another try since it had been a while. I got a sampler of 5 different beers. Honestly, I don't have much good to say about the beer. I did enjoy the Scarlet Fire Rauchbier, but only because I had paired the smokey, bacony flavor with my food just right. I wouldn't drink it by itself. The food was very good, but the selection was a little lacking.
Overall, I don't understand what all the hype over Victory is... I've read reviews and maybe I'm not drinking the same beer, but of the 5 breweries I visited in PA that weekend, this was by FAR the worst.

This is a great place to come on a Friday or Saturday night when you want to have a good beer with good friends and not have to deal with the people congestion at other larger establishments near by. I come for the beer not the food as should you unless youre looking for just bar food like a pretzel then it's fine. Now living on the West Coast I get very happy when I find a place that carries Victory beer.

Classic brewery setup in the middle of a warehouse/industrial complex in Downingtown PA. Great beer and great people, the brewery gets constant traffic with beer lovers filing in and out to fill up growlers but also to enjoy a bite to eat; the food here is above average for a brewery. The bar tenders get creative if you visit, for instance serving up something called a "silver back" which is a combination of storm king stout and the brewery's famous Belgian style ale, golden monkey. Worth a visit.
