Pours black with a hint of light showing through. One to two fingers of head that retains well. Great circular lacing. Smells of dark malts. Taste has coffee notes on the front with dark malts showing through the middle and finishing with a hint of smoky flavor. Well done and sessionable stout.

On tap at the brewery
A-darker brown with a sticky tan head
S-awesome scent of dark chocolate syrup with a hint of coffee. It's a great scent. Medium to high strength
T-comes in with a very authentic taste of dark roasted malts. Maybe a hint of Belgian spices and licorice in there. There's only a small remnant of chocolate and coffee. It's a good tasting stout that reminds me more of an English style. Has a slight sourness to it that I don't love. Matching after-taste
M-dry medium carbonation a semi dry finish.
O-a fun stout. It's not amazing. It has some flaws but it's enjoyable. Overall though, it's a stout ill pass up next time when I see it. Doesn't give me a reason to come back

Pours a dark deep brown with thin mocha colored head. Scent leads with notes of bitter roasted grain, chocolate, light coffee and berry. Taste is rather clean, roasted malts and cocoa powder up front, lightly sweet cream on the back end, notes of coffee and berry provide a splash of character. Medium bodied, nice heft, light grainyness. Decent, straight forward stout... dont see many of these anymore.

Victory Brewing
Midlands Stout
LOOK: Pours a clear dark brown with a mocha cream head. Leaves plenty of lace on the glass.
SMELL: Espresso coffee and cocoa nibs. Chocolatey black patent malt. Has a deep malted barley aroma. Easily identifiable stout scent.
TASTE: Robustly malty with more bitter cocoa and unsweetened coffee flavor. Moderate leafy bitterness coming off a bit herbal and tea like, then more earthy and resinous. The malt steals the show here and this is definitely a flavorful American Stout. Coffee flavors stick to the palate, which would make this an ideal morning beer, like a decaf breakfast stout.
FEEL: Full bodied, well carbonated, roasted flavor extends to the finish with more coffee and cocoa nib flavors.
OVERALL: This is a solid session able stout with good flavors. Compared to their famous Storm King Stout, this is pretty subdued, but quite enjoyable nonetheless.
Serving type: growler
