On tap at Victory. Served in a sample glass. Pours a clear near-blonde color. Very light and crisp. Nice firm hop bitterness through the flavor with a base graininess. Super refreshing and easy to drink.

First had: on tap at Victory, Downingtown, PA
Clear copper pour, with a rocky white head that retained well and left some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is not too big, pale malts, notes of cut grass and citrus pith. Taste brings a touch of bitterness up front, grassy and crisp, mellowing out with a pale malt sweetness and a generous dollop of honey, light hints of must and spice. Light-medium body. I liked this one quite a bit.

Stopped by on 02JUN12 and lead off wit a 0.5l glass of this new Maibock, brewed as a nod to the Winking Lizard in Ohio. Made with German malts and Czech Sladek hops, their menu said it was currently at 6.40% ABV.
My stange was brimming with a clear, bright golden liquid. Steady carbo was present, and a thin, white head sat atop. It was mostly a fine rim-job, yet left lovely lacework behind. Aroma had light sweetness and an abundance of breadiness with hints of floral hops. It was pretty smooth, and medium in body.
Following the lead of the aroma, the flavor also had light sweetness and great bready, doughy malts. Hops were a bit herbal with hints of spiciness. There was even a suggestion of rindy lemon peel in there, though the breadiness was what did it for me. Pretty good, though I'll take the St Boisterous if offered a choice. Prosit!!

On tap @ the Victory Brewing Company (Downingtown, PA) on 5/19/12. Served in a pint glass.
Pours a crystal clear copper, with a ½ finger of rich bright-white head. This retains with a thin creaminess that rings the sides of the glass with sticky lacing. The aroma has a fresh brightness to it in the nose, smelling of grass and citrus, which is undercut by a softer malt flavor that holds a touch of sulfur and mineral notes to it. Overall though, it’s the freshness of those hops that really drive this.
The taste is on the sweeter side with a honeyed and bready feeling malt presence, which gives way to moderately biting mix of citrus and spice. The finish is dry and lightly pithy, with a lingering spiciness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a firm crispness up front and more of a smooth firmness that flows along the back. There is a nice movement to the feel despite the 6% ABV on this. It’s got some chewiness to it but is still pretty drinkable.
This was OK. It was overall a little too sweet for my tastes but the hops did lend this a fresh bite that kept this about as crisp on the palate as it could get. I just wish there was a little more excitement to it.

On tap at Victory. Pours a clear light gold with light head. Nose is grainy and mild, fairly subdued though pleasant and fresh. Mouth is distinctive Bock malt, crisp, bright hops. More grass and fresh cracked grains in the mouth. Full bodied and fairly rich, with a bit of sweetness lingering about. Medium carbonation.

A- Pours a clear pale yellow with a very thin white head. Head quickly becomes a few bubbles and leaves no lacing.
S- Smells of lemons, a peppery spice, yeast and bready malts.
T- Quite a bit of spices and yeast here. A touch of lemon and a bit of bitterness from the hops. Seems like quite a mess and nothing is really working together.
M- Light in body and good amount of carbonation.
O- I'll pass on this one.

I had this on draft at the Winking Lizzard in Bedford and was the glass of the month. I was first excited that this was a Victory beer because I am a fan of their beers.
The beer appeared a clear golden color with a small one inch white head that left a little white lacing around the glass.
The aroma had many citrus notes of lemon, lime and maybe cilantro.
The taste was dominated with the citrus flavors, with some hoppy bitterness, there were a few sweet notes and small hints of malt.
The mouthfeel was good, it was a light crisp and clean and was very refreshing and enjoyable to drink.
Overall it was a decent summer beer for a hot day. It was easy to drink and refreshing but I would go after a few other handles before going for this one.

Served in a special shaker glass for the Winking Lizard's Glass of the Month. Tasted/reviewed at the WL in Mentor, OH.
Clear, straw with about two fingers of stark white head when served, fairly slow to drop. Some lacing.
Sweet caramel malt and hint of lemons. Malt dominates.
Malty, lemony, good balance of bitterness.
Fairly light on mouthfeel, with good level of carbonation. Very crisp.
Highly drinkable and refreshing. Could session this all night

A- Clear straw yellow color with very high carbonation and a one finger soapy white head
S- Faint aroma of malted barley and some indistinct sweetness
T- Barley, German hops, and some sweetness
M- High tongue tickling carbonation, crisp, dry, and refreshing
O- A highly drinkable and refreshing beer that is a little plain for my taste.
