Appearance - The Village brown ale pours a mildly dark amber body with a nice creamy head. After a few tastes the lacing sticks to the side of the pint glass.
Smell- Coffee aroma that overshadows any other smells.
Taste-Big coffee presence and in the best way, Quality beans make for one of the better coffee profiles I have tasted in a beer reminds me of a top notch stout like speedway or breakfast stout. The coffee lingers for short while then fades nicely.
Mouth feel- Very light, but enjoyable. I don't want to be chewing a 5% abv brown ale.
Overall- Fantastic. Great taste, and I find it dangerously drinkable I've been hitting up victory heavy recently and after getting countless pints at the bar I caved in and got the growler. I think This year's version is much tastier than last years.

16oz, draft at WF Glen Mills
Pint glass
A: Pours out more like an IPA than a brown ale. Maybe an IPA with dark malts. You can see through it. Half finger slightly off white head. Some lacing. It really looks like dirty thin water.
S: Some mild hints of coffee. Ground coffee notes, not the roasted variety. Some caramel malts are more present than the coffee though.
T: Up front you get that ground coffee flavor. Mild, not astringent or biting. It's pleasant. Mild malt bill. Caramel notes. Some what dry finish.
M: Light to medium bodied.

A - Copper, mostly clear. White head has some retention and lacing.
S/T - Considering this is branded as a coffee-brown ale, there's very little coffee in this one. Bready caramel malts and some pine hops in the finish. Coffee is very light in both flavor and aroma.
M - Light body, high level of spritzy carbonation. Not very smooth without the rich feel typical of coffee and brown ales.
O - I think the mark was missed on this one. Lacking in feel and coffee throughout. Little depth of flavor.
