Looks almost just like hop devil. That means dark amber-copper color with an off white head. The only difference appears to to be the head make up. The color is the same, but the bubbles are more open and it sticks around a lot longer. Speaking of stick, it sticks to the glass in a disjointed splotchy kind of way.

The aroma is also a ot like hop devil with big citrus and pine aroma as well as caramel malts and biscuit malts. Throw in a little barn yard, sweat and hay and there you go.

Wow that taste different. Don't get me wrong the hops are there as well as the bitterness, but the brett has lent a big spicy overtone. There is a bit of clove to back up the hops. The funk comes through in the middle with a bit of yeasty sweaty type taste. The bittenrss comes roaring back in the finish reminding you once again that this is te same hop bill as Hop Devil. Bit the what lingers long with the bitterness is the spice and funk.

The body is medium and the carbonation is quite a bit higher than Hop Devil.

Very drinkable a nice change of pace.

Thanks for Reading

Mixed feelings. Victory tried to make their fantastic Hop Devil with Belgian yeast, German malts, and American hops. The result is a unique combination of floral, citrus, and pine, but my bomber had an acidic taste that overrode everything.

Warning! Once you uncork Wild Devil it will explode like champagne. Be prepared!

Served from a corked ad caged bomber. I noticed after pouring that bottling date is from 2009! Should be interesting to review a 3 yr old Belgian IPA.

A - Hazy copper gold. A very pretty beer that proves crystal clear beers aren't always the best looking.

S - Lots of Brett. Maybe a little hoppyness in the background.

T - Brett, Brett, and more Brett. What can I say? This beer has been overpowered by the Brett funk. I can't detect any hops or grain, only Brett.

M - Light and somewhat creamy with a small prickle from the carbonation. I was expecting a lot of carbonated bite because it foamed over when I pulled the cork and even more when I poured the first glass. Very enjoyable mouthfeel despite the overpowering Brett.

O - I suppose age has not treated the Hop Devil kindly because the Brett has overpowered the taste. It's really a shame. I wish I could've tried this one fresh.
