I feel bad for the guy underneath me. I had this beer on tap in Philadelphia for $4.50 in a 22 oz glass.
P: Was a cross between a amber orange/ chestnut brown with a thick two finger head that had great retention.
S: Sweet sugars, caramel, and hops
T: Many IBU's Bitter with the sweetness to balance it out.
M: Good and refreshing
D: Easy, but definitely a hoppy lager

I got a bottle of this a few days ago at the B side lounge, which is a bar underneath the Grog Shop. This was $5.00 a bottle. I had no idea this was a lager when I got it at the bar the other day. I assumed this was the IPA. Pours a sort of dark amber reddish/orangish color. The head was about 1/4 of an inch upon pouring and settled to almost nothing fairly quickly, leaving some decent lacing. Aromas of malt, hops, some citrus, a bit of caramel, and some adjuncts are present, but they could all be a bit stronger. The taste is hoppy and malty with some citrus present as well. Not much else going on tastewise. Good, but nothing special here. This is definetly the hoppiest lager I have ever had, which is a plus for me. Has a crisp and smooth, yet also sort of thin and watery, mouthfeel with light carbonation. Highly drinkable in a way beer should be. Worth a try for sure, if you can find it for less that $5.00 per bottle!

This was a lagered version of HopDevil Ale unveiled for the Philly BA Gathering on 4/8/06...
THIS WAS A ONE TIME RELEASE!! Anyone stating they got this in a bottle, or elsewhere other than the brewpub on 4/8/06 has misplaced their rating.
Appears a hazy amber with a small, fluffy white head and nice scattered lacing left around the glass.
Smell is very similar to the HD Ale with the hoppy blast of citrus and mild caramel but there is also some aromas of vanilla, corn, & dough.
Taste is of a hopped up, bold malt profile coming through with the tenacity of the aromas.
Mouthfeel is much different than the typical HopDevil with a touch of corn, and toasted malt swirling smoothly along the palate with the hoppy citrus and pine clinging till the dry finish.
