Victory St. Boisterous is a very clear yellow beer with a dense, white head that leaves nice lacing. The aroma is fruity and a little wooden. It smells a little like Pinesol and spilled beer. There is an almost minty character to it. It's medium bodied and very smooth with a clean, dry finish. There's a little bit of chewiness or grit left on the teeth. It tastes a little boozy and twangy, like a malt liquor or a euro lager. Alcohol, lemon detergent and light grain are there, along with an herbal, wooden bitterness that surfaces at the finish. This just really isn't my thing. It seems like it wants to be refreshing but the alcohol flavor takes away from that.

This is a realy old bottle and already has tons of floaties. It tastes fine however, so I decided to have it and review it. It was Enjoy By April 2011. This beer is probably 3 years old then.
The aroma has lots of bready malt.
The flavor definitely tastes like a maibock. Lots of breadiness and caramel sweetness, some spiciness and herbal hops. There’s also some fruity esters in there too. The middle hits you with a bit of alcohol, but it’s not very offensive.
The finish is pretty dry, despite the sweet flavor.
Actually a very well done beer. Quite tasty and even better than certainly doppelbock options out there.

Pours a cloudy, bright orange color, with a thick fluffy white head that disappeared quickly.
The scent was of citrus and notes of sweet malts.
The taste was of sweet caramal malts, toasted bread, and some citrus.
Medium body, pretty smooth, moderate carbonation.
This was pretty average for the style, not really something I would look for again.

Served in a .5L glass for $5.50 at the brewpub.
Sampled 08AUG12
[A] Arrives with a 2 finger tall bright white fluffy head of semi compacted foam. Staying power is well above average and leaves a thick film of crackled lace in a thick ribbon along the glass. The body is a clear golden wheat color, rather light and wonderfully clear. Great look.
[S] Sweet. Glorious. Grain. With an extremely gentle toast and a light, crisp lemony-orange citrus. Light fruity notes, malt derived, and perfectly integrated.
[T] Sweet fruity flavor edges out the grainy base by a hair.
[M] Perhaps the best aspect of this fantastic brew. Somewhat thick and more substantial than expected given the ABV. Smooth, luscious. A consistent presence of mild effervescence keeps the tongue awake and contemplative. Couldn't ask for much more.
[O] If this is what a good sturdy Maibock is supposed to taste like, man, I have been missing out.

On tap at Victory. Pours a very pale gold with good clarity, a small head that settles fairly quickly, and minimal lacing. Simple but clean aroma; bready; biscuit malt; a hint of earthy and floral hoppiness underneath; very light honey-like sweetness.
The flavor follows the nose pretty closely. All in all I found it to be a bit on the bland side. There’s a clean and light, slightly toasted bread character to the malt, a little biscuit and honey sweetness that dries out in the finish, and again a modest floral hop character.
Medium to slightly light bodied with crisp carbonation. A simple style and a simple execution in line with traditional examples. Easy drinking with well hidden alchohol. Ultimately a bit unexciting.
