The colour is dark brown, the liquid clear. The two finger head is compact and. warm beige. Good retention, some lacing.
The smell got green hops and brown malt. Unripe apples and chocolate bars. Some wort in the background.
The brown malt dominates the taste: Chocolate cookies, brown bread, molasses and treacle. Hints of bay leaf and Tootsie rolls. Low sweetness, medium body. The aftertaste is a bit unclean with wort, chocolate toffee and descending hay-ish bitterness. The finish is smoother with pumpernickel and a hint of liquorice.
The carbonation is medium strong, the many small bubbles are fresh and long-lived. The liquid is semi-smooth.
Too much wort-flavours and a bit unclean. Well well well…
