After many trials, we selected a very unique souring strain from our secret bodega located here at Edge. We then utilize an intense double fermentation process to sour then to ferment the beer with summer fruits to create this luscious and vibrant fruit ale.

My sister just made a big batch of sangria over the holidays - so the taste is recently familiar! The good news is that Edge Brewing's Sangria Sour has done a terrific job of mimicking the traditional characteristics of sangria: there's a rich wine-like backbone, thick consistency, and a very pleasant fruitiness. Pouring the beer out, it even looks like sangria (minus the fruit, of course).
But where it fails is - the beer is not sour. Perhaps my taste buds aren't up to the task, or the sourness is just too subtle for me - but this was a bit of a disappointment. I like sangria. I like sours. Sangria Sour is only one of these things.
A good effort. I'd like to try it again with some actual sourness.

A: Ripe cherries, light berry presence with a moderately sharp sourness, light vinegar.
A: Bright red, slightly hazy, with a dense thin white uniform head with light lacing in the glass.
T: Sour Cherry flavor, coupled with berries, light malt presence and slightly sweet, followed by a moderately sharp sourness that has a bit of a vinegar character.
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
O: Alright; the beer's fruit presence is overshadowed by the sharp and slightly vinegary sourness.
