Had this earlier today at the The Bruce Festival 2011 in Dunfermline which I should add is a medeival festival in honour of Robert The Bruce. Despite not being a beer festival it still manged to have twenty cask ales on tap all served via gravity. Result!
Super big foamy head with a pure crystal golden look. Ripe yet ripe citric nose.
Begins with a dry citric bitterness which leads to a sweet middle before it is again surrounded with all that long clinging bitterness. Amazing how this relatively light bodied beer so effortlessly supports such a complex drink.
Concludes with a beautiful long delicious Citra bitterness that is both satisfying and chewy.
Just stunning. Can't believe more people aren't singing this beer's praises. Without a doubt the best kept 'secret' in the Scottish beer scene.

Light gold colour with good lacing. Smell is fruity and floral, citrus, crisp maltiness, apple esters, nice. Taste is again fruity and floral, very flavourful session ale. Light maltiness, light bodied but well balanced floral flavour character. Body is firm crisp and light, a tasty session ale as it as meant to be, but not the most flavourful or exciting beer of the day.

50cl bottled poured into wine glass
BBE July 2013
A- Cloudy straw blonde body with 2 finger creamy head. Head retention and lacing both very good.
S- Grapefruits, lemon, pepperiness.
T- Grapefruit bitter hoppiness upfront with a peppery note coming through. A nice zesty/touch sweet lemon note coming into the strong hoppy finish. However i feel its lacking a malty sweet dimension, but to be honest, thats being picky.
M- Moderate/lively carbonation and medium body.
D- Looks and smells great. Great hop complexity on the palate, just lacks a touch of a malty dimension for me. Tasty stuff.

Fresh on cask in Fisherman's, Broughty Ferry.
One of the many ales now trying to entice the lager drinker. Hopefully it will work!
Bright, fresh straw colour. crystal clear.
Nice and hoppy bitter tang.
Great session beer. Better than Bitter and Twisted.

Purchased at the Baker's Corner off-license in Dun Laoghaire.
Light yellow pour with a decent amount of haze. 1-finger of light cream head. Very little in the way of retention and only light lace.
Nose is very nice. Pineapple-grapefruit mix from the hops with a light straw note to back that up. Well done.
Taste is also very well done. More pineapple than grapefruit, with notes of orange citrus and a bit of apricot for a light sourness. Great flavor, especially for a lighter abv.
Feel is right on, not too heavy but thick enough for the hop flavor.
This would not be that remarkable a beer, but for only 3.8% this is fantastic. Wish I had picked up more of these.

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a lovely looking cloudy golden colour, which has a great fresh look to it. It has a nice lively head.
Smells very fresh and quite fruity and hoppy like an IPA.
Tastes reflects the smell, very hoppy but not overpoweringly so, with a good balance to it. That said it is very tangy and fruity, and extremely moreish.
Overall quite a remarkable beer, especially for such a nice abv.

Gravity halfpint at the Euston Tap; ABV listed at 3.9%, fwiw.
A: Clear pale gold body topped by a thin but remarkably solid, clumpy white head. Good retention and lacing. Nice.
S: Very fresh, light, and appealing Citra aroma: grapefruit, orange, and pineapple. Terrific.
T: Juicy, citrus fruit, and tons of it. So good, so juicy, so tasty. Amazing.
M: Smooth, lively light-to-medium body. Very delicate.
O: What a great session beer! I could drink this by the gallon.
Cheers!

500ml bottle, 3.8% ABV, proclaiming itself a 'hoppy blond session ale'. The name seems to be a reference to an old term for a Scandinavian earl - all right then.
This beer pours a hazy, very pale golden straw hue, with two fingers of thin foamy, rocky white head, which renders a few patches of ECG pattern lace around the glass as it lazily settles. The aroma is of bitter, pithy grapefruit, lemon zest, some nice neutral tropical notes, and biscuity, white bready malt. Quite enticing.
First gulp is rather bracing - more bitter white grapefruit, sans fruit, sans sweetness. Further delving indicates that this sensation lingers for a little longer than expected, before welcoming a plain, grainy malt, more crackery than sweet in its lackluster balancing effort. A few other softer hop notes hang around as well, providing some leafiness and mild warming spice (it sure ain't the booze doing it...).
The bubbles are crisp, fine, and generally mild, the body medium-light in weight, a slight hoppy, frizzy edge eating into the overall smoothness. It finishes more off-dry than one would have anticipated at this point, the restrained grainy malt standing up for itself a tad more, amidst a somewhat waning, increasingly blended lemon/grapefruit bitterness.
A pretty tasty session beer, as generally promised. For the unsuspecting hophead, this is a pleasant boon. I don't know that I would drink a whole night's worth of this, but that's true of any hopped to the nuts offering. However, it would be super to have a few pints of this as a hop-fix start to an evening's pub proceedings.

From a 500 ml brown bottle, abv listed as 3.8%. Pours out a hazed pale straw colour, tall frothy white head on the pour.
Sweet white grapefruit aroma is prominent on the nose, some mild spice, very faint biscuity malt.
Bright sweet grapefruit hops up front in the flavour, some spicy, leafy notes, clean light grainy malt on the finish.
Light bodied mouthfeel, smooth texture, low carbonation with a spritzy kick on the finish.
A mellower fix for hopheads craving some grapefruit citrus, as that's pretty much all that's going on here flavour-wise. On the flipside an assertively hoppy blonde ale.

Pours platinum yellow with a feathery lacy white head that leaves big crusty sheets. Musty citrus nose, like rotten white grapefruit skin, that is Citra. Sour grain, cream cracker and lemon oil but Citra starts to cut in right away with musky lemon pith hops that go tight and impressively bitter on the finish. Sour mango linger. Soft, round, creamy and light to medium.
Not really an American blonde - the bready malts and creamy feel are definitely English - but until BA puts in an English Golden/Blonde category, it's better than "English Pale Ale".
Citra on parade! These hops just bully your palate in the most pleasant way. At 3.8% in bottles, I'd drink this all day. Big winner of a single hop ale.

This beer is Fyne Ales' seasonal ale, launched in 2010. I had it at the Bon Accord pub in Glasgow, Scotland, from a cask. This review is from notes.
A: Cloudy yellow colour. Relatively thin head.
Sm: Grapefruit citrusy scent. Uncanny. Clan barley. Very appealing.
T: Smooth clean pen to balanced citrus grapefruit ester body. Built nicely for the style, which is best described as a blonde/golden hybrid. Doesn't fit neatly into any of beeradvocates' categories.
Mf: Adequately smooth to complement the flavour. The finish is nice.
Dr: I'd have it again. 4% ABV is nicely buried, though that isn't difficult to accomplish. Very drinkable. Would make a decent session beer.
