a - big, fluffy, creamy head that hangs around. cloudy, almost weissbeir like body (there's wheat in here)

s - vauge sweetness, big sharp citrus notes (but orangey/lemony ones, not the grapefruity ones you'd get from an American IPA)

t - good dose of malt, there's an almost lambicy sourness to it which is really refreshing. Not, it has to be said, one of my absolute favourite things in a beer but that's strictly personal preference. Super-dry finish which is nice.

m - decent weight, enough carbonation that it isn't cloying

o - good pint for a warm day, drunk before and will drink again (but maybe better on cask?)

Reviewed from notes taken during a January 2011 trip to Glasgow, Scotland. Served from a cask in the Crystal Palace pub.

A: Clear hold colour. Thin head without cream.

Sm: Clean light scent of barley, typical of cask ales but not indicative of quality. I'm of the opinion that beeradvocate vastly overrates smell, especially in the case of cask ales.

T: Light open slides into body of slightly bittering hops and some lightly treated barley. Finish is largely empty much to me chagrin.

Mf: Very fresh, but disappointing. Too smooth for the taste (and style). Tries to slide the body right by without giving you a chance to have a taste of it.

Dr: Not worthwhile for serious beer enthusiasts.

On cask at the Cafe Royal in Edinburgh.

A: It takes a minute for this to settle. Once it does, this pours a bright and clear golden/yellow color. A one finger whire head forms with good retention and sticky lace.
S: A light wheat like aroma at first. Light citrus and a light sweetness as well.
T: Again, a very light sweetness and citrus aromas. Not much is here, but still enjoyable.
M/D: This has a light to medium body that is fairly creamy. A little high in alcohol for a traditional session, and there is not a lot here to keep my interest.

This is the CAMRA's Champion Beer of Scotland 2006. Though I have had much better cask offering from this brewery and other Scottish micros. That being said, this is still an enjoyable beer.

Half pint served from the cask at the Paisley Beer Festival

A- Apple Juice Concentrate blonde, 2 finger creamy head reducing to a crown with excellent sticky lace.

S- Strong hop presence, citrus, and peach notes.

T- Juicy hop citrus again lingering all the way through, creamy peach notes in the finish. Underlying malt sweetness.

M- Spritzy yet slightly creamy

D- Fantastically drinkable ale with hop citrus in all the right places! More more and more!
