Half pint in 'spoons in Paisley. Gold coloured beer with a head which stciks around for a fair while. The nose is butterscotch. The initial taste is butterscotch, but there is a more metallic hoppy aftertaste with some leafiness apparent. I like the leafiness, but the butterscotch was rather overwhelming for me.

Golden orange colour with a pinky sized, creamy white head that managed to stay for a while and leave some light lacing on the sides of the glass.

Fruity to begin with, there are some light floral notes and some citrus fruits mixed with orange and possibly some peach. There is a mild bitterness at the end but overall it is light.

Light with some mild summer fruit and berries to begin with along with some citrus and a touch of bitterness. There was a mild hop kick to the beer with some lemon and orange too.

Medium bodied and smooth with a bitter kick and a fruity flavour throughout. It was lively for a cask ale and not as flat as some of the previous ones I have tried.

A nice beer, particularly for a cask ale and not as flat as I had been expecting. There was a nice fruity blend and a good, wet feel to the beer. The only problem was that this didn't seem to last right to the end of the beer but still a very good effort.

Pint served by handpump into a shaker pint glass at the Guildford Arms in Edinburgh.

A- Gold body with excellent clarity.1 finger creamy head that reduces to a thin layer but this has staying power with good lacing.

S- Nose is faint passionfruit, peachy fruity sweetness with faint citrus.

T- I can only describe the the taste as juicy! Its like sucking the juice from a fresh peach! Its fantastic. Slight hint of english tea in the background with a delicate hop bite in the finish.

M- Light and creamy on the tongue, low carbonation.

D- How can there be so much damn flavour from an abv so low?? This is a true session beer, the Kelburn brewery certainly are quite a talent!.

A: Pours a bright and perfectly clear amber/orange color. A two finger, tightly packed, white head forms that sticks throughout. Some spotty lace is left behind.
S: Big citrus hops up front. Orange peal and lemon. A light honey sweetness. Bread and biscuit as well. A lingering bitternes. Really good.
T: Follows the nose. Very hop forward. A huge crisp and clean citrus hop flavor. Lots of orange and lemon. There is a substantial spicy flavor as well. A nice malty sweetness for balance, along with some bread and biscuit.
M/D: A lighter body, that is just a bit watery and under carbonated. Really easy to drink. A good choice for a session beer.

I really enjoy this. It paired perfectly with a spicy hot bowl of curry at the Prince of Wales in Aberdeen. Something I would highly recommend.

A - Yellowy misty colour with decent head.

S - Cirtus fruits and honey like aromas.

T - Again the fruitiness comes through strongly, however really quite intense hop finish.

M - Smooth feel on the mouth was quite cold and benefited from increased temperature as the pint progressed.

D - Good strength for a beer that can easily fall into the "session" category. If this was the only cask beer in the pub then would not mind staying on it for a while.

Tasted by half-pint at the Volunteer's Arms, GBBF 06. Dispensed by a handpump.

A: bright amber hue, with a fluffy off-white beer head that sustains very well; low carbonation.
S: sweet/sugary malts plus a brilliant orangey-citrus edge and juicy, fat grapefruit bits... LOTS of Goldings... fresh, bold, green, right in the face!! malts come secondary but still offer a good backbone. Very hoppy, just like the name suggests.
T: like the nose, there're abundant amounts of chewy Goldings hops--zesty kumquat+grapefruits, a profound leafy edge, along with bitter lemon-rind... quite tangy and slightly tannic at the root of the tongue... nice, lingering bitterness in the aftertaste, almost like hop flakes floating in the mouth, while pale malts retreats to the second layer throughout, just like the aroma.
M&D: slightly green in texture, or sharp, due to lots of rough edges of perhaps fresh hops in the brew... but the potential is great for sure. A VERY hoppy and tasty beer by Kelburn!

NERAX 2006 (Wed)

Lightly toasted color with a bit of foam riding on top.

Apricot scent.

Fruity apricot in the malt spiked with a sharp lemon bite and resiny finish. It's okay.

I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting, but this isn't it. Cute name, though.

Beer was golden amber in color with a creamy off white head. Again I was delitefully surprised by the fabulous citrusy aroma (if any of these beers make it to the USA I hope and pray that they retain some of this great hop precence). The citrus hop notes are more subdued in the flavor. They hit your taste bud fast and then the bitterness smoothes out nicely. An excellently tasty beer for a hop lover.
