Top notch craft brewery. Always a stop when I am in town. It's a cut above normal bar food. Friendly staff. The beer though is amazing. I would love it if they distributed to Dayton. Actually they should just open another beer pub in the house next door to me.

I pull right up to this spacious parking lot and get a front row parking spot, which is great, because there doesnt seem to be much parking in the city, but maybe Im just clueless. The bartender was very helpful serving me a sample flight. It was only $4.75 and contained 7 beers in 3 oz ampler glasses. Those were: Ohio Honey Wheat, Apricot Ale, Pale Ale, 90 Schilling, Columbus 1859 Porter, Columbus IPA & Keller Lager. The building is spacious and clean with nicely painted walls and a modern décor. Bright red bar top is sexy and wood trim is nice too. There is outdoor seating but I chose the indoor A/C. The top shelf liquors are suspended above the bartenders heads. Nice touch. I really liked the spray deodorant, hair gel, mousse, etc. that they keep in the bathroom to freshen up, if you say, had to go back to work after your lunch hour.

This has become my favorite restaurant here in Columbus. I've been here twice so far and have really enjoyed myself both times. The beers are generally good, although not outstanding. The food is excellent and pairs well with the food. Last night, for instance, I had an excellent pot roast with a pint of their tasty 1859 Porter. Their Apricot Ale is extremely fruity but good. The IPAs that I've tried have been merely ok. Their Oktoberfest was decent. I actually tried that along with their rare tuna appetizer, one of the few items I don't actually recommend there. I look forward to more visits in the future!

I've been to CBC many times while living in Columbus. Great brewery, good food. I'd recommend sitting @ the bar. Service is much more prompts and you get me of a description of the beers. Lunch can get busy at times, but there isn't much of a dinner rush during the week. Weekends depends on what is going on in the area.

This review comes after two stops over a seven year time period.
After tasting some of their massively hopped beers at the Cincinnati winter beer fest a couple days prior to being in town, I made it a point to stop by again.
Sat at the bar with a non-drinking co worker. I began with the beer flight which had a helles, pale, bock, IPA, IPA x 2, IPA x 3, and a seasonal stout.
All beers were very well made and I came back to the beautifully fresh and clean IPA as I didn't want to bury myself with the double and trippel IPA.
Buddy and I snaked on the nachos and quesidilla which were both very tasty.

This Cameron Mitchell owned brew pub, hidden away in the back of the Brewery District, is really the only vital local left in the dying district. It always has an array of house crafted beer available, most of which are rather good. They also have at least one seasonal on tap as well. They also bottle and distribute quite extensively throughout the region. You can get growlers to go as well.
The pub itself is more of a restaurant, yet has a decent sized bar. The service is always good. I usually order a flight, which features their standard beers and one seasonal. It's a great vaule at around $5. The IPA and porter are my favorites. The food is high quality stuff, and the menu changes frequently. The happy hour is a great value too--1/2 off pints and appetizers.
I actually had a chance to meet the brewmaster and tour the brewery. He's very passionate and knowledgeable about his craft.
I would recommend this place to any BA visiting Columbus.

If you've been to any Cameron Mitchell restaurant, then you'll not be surprised at the way the place is set up. It has that typical "upscale" look, that you would expect from a CM joint.
The food is very good and is consistant with the menus with his other places.
The service was pretty good. No complaints.
The beer selection is good enough for me.
Overall I would say that I enjoyed the restaurant. I don't frequent the upscale type places, but I like beer, especially good beer and that is why I ate here.

A - Typical brewpub/restaurant atmosphere. I was there on a Thursday just after the lunch rush, so a little difficult to tell how it get when its hopping; however, was still bright and lively inside.
Q/S - Quality and service at the bar were good. Attentive staff, well crafted beer and food.
S - For being a brewpub, it could maybe have more than 5 beers on-tap, but maybe that's just me. Just the right amount of food selections on the menu, too. Not a ton of choices, but good diversity.
V - Good value in pricing, too. Was easily able to expense a flight of all on-tap beers and lunch.

Visited 3/3/07 with a group of 20 people, quickly seated.
I ordered a beer sampler. All the beers were decent or better and the Apricot beer is excellent! The barely wine was also included with the sampler, nice touch.
Food was good, served hot and very quickly. Good value, ~$8.00 for sandwiches and $16.00 for a nice salmon filet, $4.75 for 7 beer sampler. Menu offers apps, sandwiches, steak & seafood and some pastas.
Overall very good. Beer and food all good. Server was good with beer descriptions and attentive to tables.

Wanted to grab a bite to eat with the wife before the Blue Jackets game. We thought, where better than CBC?
Located out in the boondocks of the old brewery district, it seems to be the only place still up and running. Kind of a shame, I think the business would be alot better if they picked the place up and moved it over to the Arena District near Nation Wide.
Anyways, we got seated near the windows over looking the fermentation tanks which was a cool site to see. We ordered the IPA and Porter with our meals and then had the beer sampler, all of which was reasonably priced at around $5 per pint.
The food was pretty good but a little pricey and the waitstaff was very nice but not really all that knowledgeable about their beers. Seemed more like a chain restaurant with good beers rather than a brewpub.
Overall a decent place with some hidden brew gems. The regular IPA is really a fantastic brew and the pub exclusives were good as well. Its a shame they don't' distribute outside of the Columbus area. If the IPA made its way down to Dayton I would pick up a 6er regularly.
