I am fortunate enough to live right next door to CBC and can walk there w/ ease. The first thing I thought about the place was it is in an odd location. Really...there is nothing around it. A grocery store (Kroger) is probably the closest thing and it is a 5 minute walk. Unless you go looking for CBC, you aren't going to be in this area. Not going to be driving by and say...oh...let's stop. I like the atmosphere in the bar (I have only been into the bar area). It is well designed. It is a rectangular bar with plenty of room to walk around. The bar is filled with windows and has seating/standing room along the edges as well. The patrons range from sports fans to professional types there after work to just plain folks. The service has always been average. Not bad...but nothing that warrants any special mention either. They have all their staples on draft...IPA, (which is amazing on draft), etc. They will usually have some draft only type things as well as their seasonals. You may do a sampling flight if you like as well. The full menu is available at the bar. The food I have had has been pretty good. The pizza, nachos, quesadilla may sound like standard bar food...it isn't. More a gourmet version. The desserts are pretty good as well. The banana upside down pie...get it. The prices on the food menu are a little above average as a whole but the drinks are reasonable. The price of a pint is 4.50-5.00 during regular hours with it dropping to 3.50 for HH. Everytime I am there, I enjoy myself. But, as at least one other reviewer noted...it feels more like a bar in a restaurant than a restaurant in a bar. I love the bartenders...they are each fantastic. In any event, if you are in Cbus...check it out. Or...if you are just traveling through on either 70 or 71...stop...it is just off the interstate. You can see it from 70 even though you can't recognize what it is. FYI...they are closed on Sundays.

Top notch craft brewery. Always a stop when I am in town. It's a cut above normal bar food. Friendly staff. The beer though is amazing. I would love it if they distributed to Dayton. Actually they should just open another beer pub in the house next door to me.

A - Typical brewpub/restaurant atmosphere. I was there on a Thursday just after the lunch rush, so a little difficult to tell how it get when its hopping; however, was still bright and lively inside.
Q/S - Quality and service at the bar were good. Attentive staff, well crafted beer and food.
S - For being a brewpub, it could maybe have more than 5 beers on-tap, but maybe that's just me. Just the right amount of food selections on the menu, too. Not a ton of choices, but good diversity.
V - Good value in pricing, too. Was easily able to expense a flight of all on-tap beers and lunch.

Went here alone on business. Crowded night but not overwhelming. Really enjoyed it, but in nearly every aspect there was a "but" statement. The environment was intimate and expansive at the same time...BUT the image they are trying to project is muddled by formica-looking countertops on the bar, which projects a weird Arby's image. Service was knowledgeable and helpful... BUT once I had bellied up to the bar it took way too long for someone to take my initial order. There were some wonderful, and I mean wonderful beers on tap: Columbus, Super Fresh H.O.P, and most of all Bodhi, one of the best beers in the country....BUT, those are all IPAs, and everything not IPA was quite pedestrian. 8-10 CBS beers on tap....BUT no guest beers whatsoever. That was a bummer.Food was delicious - stroganoff pasta, interesting modernized take on the standby and the 'tizers ordered by people around me looked tasty as well....BUT $16 was a bit much, and contributed to my overall sticker shock. Did not expect a flight, a tulip, and noodles to run $32.
I had a great time and if I keep coming to Columbus, I shall return without question. Overall the Buts keep CBC from being great, but it is a very good joint.

Vibe: The neighborhood that the restaurant is located in seems run down and somewhat desolate, but it offers easy access by car with its own parking lot and is a short distance from I-70/I-71. There is a large four-sided bar in the front with two TVs and a large screened in patio out front.
Quality: I didn’t try any of the food, but the quality of the beers was very impressive. It was nice being able to have two of the top 50 rated beers in the American IPA and American Double / Imperial IPA styles on-tap; the other beers that I tried were quite good as well.
Service: The bartender was very friendly, offered fast service and really knew her stuff about the beer.
Selection: The restaurant has five taps of their own beer, but the limited selection is made up by the quality of the beers.
Value: Both the food and beers seemed to be very reasonably priced. It was only $5.50 for a flight of five beers.

I stopped in before a Clippers game. Some reviews I read have described the atmosphere as that of a chain restaurant. I could see that. It didn't have the laid back casual atmosphere of some other brewpubs that I have gone to. The first thing I came upon was the bar. It is a rather large oval bar. They had five of their beers on tap. I seen Bud but quickly averted my eyes. I ordered a sampler (Bodhi, Columbus IPA, Summer Teeth). Bodhi and Columbus IPA are delicious. Summer Teeth was good.
I got a BLGT sandwich which was bacon, lettuce, and green tomato. It was a nice twist on a light sandwich. My friend and his boy got a pizza which they seemed to enjoy.
The service was fine. I would like to see a larger selection of beer. It's worth going to have the Bodhi and Columbus IPA, but many good beer bars carry these offering and have a larger selection.

The CBC beer is awesome, and they had a decent selection of CBC beers, but the only other beers they had available were BMC, Corona, and the like. I think a better selection of other craft brews (at least some Columbus options) would be better. Really pretty bummed when I come to a micro-brew and half the people are drinking Bud Lite.
The food was decent. Not the best in the world (the pulled pork is really not that great), but it isn't horrible. There are some good options, but I think the place underperforms.
Overall, the beer selection sucked, and that was the main issue. I'm kinda hurt about that. I wish they would just show more support to the Craft community as a whole, but the food wasn't bad, and they provided good service, but they need to at least offer a few other Columbus-area breweries.

This review comes after two stops over a seven year time period.
After tasting some of their massively hopped beers at the Cincinnati winter beer fest a couple days prior to being in town, I made it a point to stop by again.
Sat at the bar with a non-drinking co worker. I began with the beer flight which had a helles, pale, bock, IPA, IPA x 2, IPA x 3, and a seasonal stout.
All beers were very well made and I came back to the beautifully fresh and clean IPA as I didn't want to bury myself with the double and trippel IPA.
Buddy and I snaked on the nachos and quesidilla which were both very tasty.

Was really looking forward to trying this place-especially the Columbus IPA
This is located in the brewery district of Columbus along the river. The atmosphere is pretty updated and swanky but with an almost diner style kitchen and seating. Merchandise is available at the front counter.
The beer- Pretty much the reason I came to Columbus wasto try the Columbus IPA, and I was able to do so. Unfortunately only 4/6 beers were available on tap because last week was teir "bussiest week ever" So the hoppy rotating beer and scottish beer were unavailable to try. Four beers on tap is kinda lame for a brewpub.
The service- Our waiter was very knowledeable about the beer and very helpful about navigating around town as well as good places to go since we came along way. He went above and beyond the call of duty.
Food- Some different items as well as some typical items. Appetizers, sadnwiches, wraps...pretty standard.

Visited late afternoon. Easy to find and ample parking. First thing you see is the outdoor area, covered and a nice seating capacity.
Inside is a bar and traditional restaurant area. I sat at the bar and got an IPA. Service was quick but there were only a few other guys in the bar area and no one in the restaurant area.
The tap list had 5 brews with no guest taps. Nice deep menu. Got the Buffalo Wrap which was nice but the fries were the highlight. Crunchy and nicely spiced, they were great.
Prices were reasonable. I was kind of put off by the fact that I had to go next door to the Kroger to buy bottles. I'm sure that's due to idiotic distribution laws so the positive here is that the Kroger is in walking distance.
Edit: the restaurant and brewery are 2 separate entities and the restaurant is just another retailer. I wish I had known this before the visit as I connected the 2.
Definitely worth a visit. I know I won't pass through Columbus again without stopping in.
