A: 1 finger dark chocolate head. Pitch black. Head lasted a long time.
S: Amazing chocolate smell. Best chocolate smell I've ever smelled.
T: Delicious. Big bold chocolate up front. Slight fruity ending. Hides alcohol well.
M: Rich. Full. Good.
O: This is the best chocolate stout I've ever had in comparison to Youngs, Brooklyn brewery.

750mL bottle poured into tulip
Dark, charred brown color with opaque bleakness. Crop of tanned head slowly fades out, leaving some spots of lacing dotted around the glass.
Chocolate, bittersweet chocolate and chocolate malts. Roasted dark malts and a hint of alcohol warmth.
Slightly syrupy chocolate runs throughout the profile. Hints of bitterness with dark roasted malts, molasses and a soft detection of caramel and vanilla. Finishes warm and chocolatey.
Medium body, decent carbonation, bubbly and a little flat/thin on the tongue. Probably should have opened this one a long time ago but it got a bit lost in the shuffle of bottles in my fridge/cellar, although this still feels extremely one-note.

Poured into a pint glass from a bomber with a nice medium mocha head with nice whispy lacing on the glass.
I pick up some vanillaish aromas in the nose as well dark malts. The flavor is very nice stoutish chocolate and dark malts with a nice medium+ mouthfeel, It finishes easy on the tongue and throat with a semi creamy ending.
This to me is a Great Stout. I've fallen in love with Stouts and Porters this winter past, and even though this is warm (80 degree) mid April day, this is still a fantastic sipper. My hats off to Flying Dog for a great representation of this style of malted bev. ^5
