This beer has held up well. I think that my buddy did an excellent job cellaring this ale. So glad he held on to a piece of Houston's history and sent it my way!

A creamy textured, bready, biscuity, rye toast tasting golden ale with spicy and citrus hop notes and an off dry finish, the alcohol is well concealed and with a smooth finish.

Interesting smell, some banana, clove
Poured on draught into a pint glass.
Smell is caramel malt with some earthy hops, apple and caramel flavors.
Taste follows the nose and has a solid malt body and flavor profile with some honey, clove, woody and hop bitterness flavors (some moderate sweetness throughout).
Mouthfeel is medium-light in body with a good amount of carbonation.
Overall this is a fairly interesting strong Belgian ale yet drinkable given the 10% ABV. Not my favorite style but I enjoyed it and would seek it out again.

12 oz bottle. Pours hazy amber with suspended white particles. Aroma of fruit, malt, yeast. Sweet Belgian pale with wood and fruity notes, slightly boozy. Dry finish and an overall thin mouthfeel.

12oz bottle from LambicPentameter (thanks!). Bottled 4/7/14. Served in a goblet.
Pours a brilliant, clear, deep orange gold with almost two full fingers of near white head. The froth dissipates to a healthy layer the rests on the surface and a broad ring that deposits some significant clouds of lace.
Smells sweet, fruity and yeasty. Notes of apple, yeast, caramel and candy sugar. Pretty nice.
Flavors of sugar, apple, clove, caramel, a hint of banana, strong Belgian yeast and a slight nip of alcohol. All the classic flavors are there and the age helps them blend oh, so smoothly.
Medium full, smooth body with moderately soft carbonation. A little more booze lingers in the finish along with yeasty candied apple and clove.
Saint Arnold's Divine Reserve 14 is a well made Belgian strong pale ale. I enjoy the smooth body and rounded flavors that aging produced. It's not a style I tend to gravitate towards but no regrets here.

Thanks to pjkelley82 for this bottle that was lost in the jungles of the beer fridge for, oh, several ant’s lifetimes. 12 oz. stubby twist off that I pried off.
The pour is quiet orange with about what’s to be expected for carb in a year-plus twist-off bottle. There is, literally, nothing of coming off the surface of the beer. No smell. That’s a first. How does one score air? OK, maybe a touch of citrus & honey. Maybe.
Divine Reserve #14 fits well with the airfare for Europe next summer my wife was just quoting me. Belgium? Amsterdam? Madrid? Yes please! After the shrinking violet nose, the taste pops surprisingly with an aggressive yeast, wildflower honey, soft bubblegum, an almost rye-like spiciness, & finally a small prairie plot of various grasses & wheat germ. Tsunami of sweet malt finishes off the cornucopia & lends a needed shot of adrenalin to my flagging energy reserves. Soft & curvy & something I could drink a six of after a hot baseball game.
I don’t know if this has gained traction in the long months since birth, but this is a complex monster of a beer & stands out in a rather tame, lame, sad style. Excellent beer.
