Poured from a twelve ounce bottle into a fluted beer glass on 12/1 (from notes).

Pours a lighter amber, with good amount of white foam. A light layer remains after the pour. Esthery smell, not dominant but there. Caramel malty taste, very soft, subtle. Butter flavor. Not too sweet, and not much bite. Mostly mellow. Easy finish. Pretty good Octoberfest.

12 oz bottle. Pours amber with a long lasting white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of sourdough and hint of grassy hops. Body is medium and smooth. Caramel malt and herbal hops are balanced on the palate. Finish is short and slightly sweet. One of many good Oktoberfests.

Saint Arnold Oktoberfest has a medium, cream-colored head, a mostly clear, amber appearance, some streaming bubbles, and a little bit of lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of medium-roasted malt, brown bread, some sweetness, and that’s about it. Taste is the same, with a slight cherry undertaste and low bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Saint Arnold Oktoberfest finishes crisp, refreshing, and drinkable. This is a winner.

Poured into a pint glass. Pours clear amber with a creamy biege head that dissipates at a moderate pace. There are some tiny streaming bubbles visible in the beer. The aroma is of bread with some herbal and earthy notes from the hops. There's not much in the way of sweetness in the aroma. You definitely get the full flavor of Munich malts here with some mild hop bitterness in the background. I pick up those earthy and herbal hop flavors, but like these are mild and allow the malt profile to come through more. The body is medium with moderate carbonation. The beer is crisp and smooth, permitting high drinkability. This is a very good beer.

On tap at Gordon Street Tavern in Alvin, Texas

This is sweeter than the Karbachtoberfest with a bit less flavor overall. Very smooth and easy to drink. I could finish three of these back to back no problem.

A bit sweet, but didn't overpower. Just a good solid beer in my opinion. I would have no problem drinking these again and again. Enjoyed.

Another sent from optimator13. Poured into tapered DuPont glass...

A- Copper color with a tint of orange. Creamy beige head about a finger high rises then falls quickly.

S- Faint bready aroma. Touch of diacetyl with fruity undertones.

T/M- Way too sweet, this is like a honey smothered piece of toast. Not very clean as it finishes sweet and full on the tongue. Diacetyl again in the form of butterscotch. Not a fan and completely out of style. Body needs to be lighter with more carbonation.

O- Entire profile is out of whack per style. Too sweet and not light nor clean enough. I wasn't a fan, but my girlfriend liked it, so this became her beer.

A: Pours a rich caramel color with a light colored thin cap of foam which like to stick tTo glass walls.

S: aroma is of sweet caramel and some kind of fruit, maybe an apricot?

T: The first taste that you get is sweet caramel like the smell and the fruitiness is a mix of citrus and apricots with more of the latter in th mix. There is a nice light hop flavor in there as well. Very nice balance of flavors none are more prevalent than the others and they all compliment one another.

M: medium boidied smooth character.

O: Overall a very drinkable beer and you don't even taste the 6% ABV

This beer pours a murky bronze/orange color with a nice amount of foamy off white head. Not much lacing going on though.

On the nose I can pick up on a spicy note immediately. It has a rather subdued sweet apricot smell too that lingers in the back along with some other things that are sort of sweet but indistinguishable.

Flavor wise its alot like it smells, like a muted apricot with some caramelly / toffee notes the spice is definitely there on the finish.

It has a certain crispness to it but it still has a wet finish. I like the aftertaste that it leaves. I could easily see myself making a session out of these, easy to put down.

I’m starting to regret saying something to the effect of ‘I’ve never tasted an Oktoberfest beer I didn’t like.” This, case in point. Pours a clear, toasty brown color. Good head retention but not a whole lot of aroma at draught temperatures. Light in taste with a bitter hop kick at the end. It’s not the smooth, lightly malted marzen I’ve come to know and love. I’m glad I took a chance on this but I would be hard pressed to finish a sixer at home.

Received this in a trade with LadyOfMuchBeer. Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass. Pours a transparent amber hue with virtually zero head. The nose is pretty muted, not a lot going on. At most you pick up what seems to be some cinnamon or nutmeg. Maybe a little bit of malt and caramel. The taste is definitely on the malty side with hints of vanilla and caramel. The mouthfeel is very thin and alkaline like. There isn't a lingering aftertaste which is nice. This goes down real clean. Overall, while not one of my favorites, this wouldn't be a bad session beer this time of year on a cool, cloudy day. I wouldn't seek it out, but I wouldn't get mad if I was stuck drinking it either.

Pours a clear copper with a creamy white head that sticks around and leaves nice lacing.

The aroma is of caramel, toffee, maple syrup, spice and fruity notes.

Big sweet malt, honey tones, maple, and caramels with a fruity finish of apricot and spice.

Nice balance, easy to drink, medium body.

Overall, very good to style.

Poured from a bottle into a schooner. No obvious best before.

A - pours a tight, clear copper with some obvious carbonation in the glass. Very small head that doesn't leave any lacing.

S - notes of caramel and spice; only moderately intense

T - reasonably good traditional Marzen style with initial hops attack with a bit of lemon balanced by moderate malt profile. Finishes with a hint of spiciness.

M - quite light mouthfeel with lots of carbonation

D - quite drinkable, and reasonably good Oktoberfest. Not overly sweet, but lacking a bit of intensity.

A - Pours a golden amber color with some yellow on the edge. White carbonation head fizzed up to about a finger and disappeared instantly.

S - Sweet malts, caramel, some sort of syrupy honey and something like butterscotch.

T - Taste is pretty sweet and caramelly, with something coming through that reminds me a bit of lager yeast. Pretty malty, with some slight bit of butterscotch. It's okay and easy to drink, but kind of boring and the finish is nondescript.

M - Medium bodied, pretty crisp carbonation.

O - It's a very drinkable beer, but I find it too syrupy sweet with some ho hum flavors. Crushed it easily, but it lost my attention rather quicklly.

Ok. I had this beer out of the bottle and straight out of the fridge the other day while watching football and was wholly unimpressed. This time I let it warm while I ate my dinner and poured it into a pint glass.

A- A lighter orange color than other Marzens I've had. Good carbonation but little head when poured into pint glass. (This is a recurring theme in my posts so maybe it's the fall crop of beers or maybe there's soap or hardwater deposits on my glasses. I don't know.)

S- I found the smell pleasantly sweet and even a bit grainy (not malty, but grainy). Overall, fairly nice.

T- As I mentioned, I was ready for the beer to underwhelm and was delighted when it didn't. It gave me a strong malt flavor followed by a sweetness that was dry and faintly apricot-y. Good stuff.

D- Light and quaffable. A good clean finish with just the slightest grain aftertaste.

O- I like it, but don't love it. However, it was better than the S.A. Oktoberfest I had recently which is saying something since it was one of my faves last season.

Give it a try.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass, bottled 8/3/11.

This pours a light amberish color with a nice white head which quickly dissipates. The smell is of bready and caramel malts. Feel is medium. The taste is more of the caramel and bready malts, a little lighter than some of the others. Overall a good beer although one of the weaker oktoberfests I've tried recently.

Oktoberfest beers are here, so I stopped by my local beer store, deciding to try St. Arnold's Oktoberfest. I am a huge fan of St. Arnold's beer in general, so I did not expect this one to disappoint.

A - Has a nice soothing red amber color that looks inviting for Fall weather.

S - Nice soft smell with a hint of some sweetness

T - Delightful taste with a small dash of sweetness, but very great blend of autumn fullness taste.

M - Refreshing feel as each sip makes you want another taste

O - Very impressed with this Oktoberfest, so far this is one of my favorite Oktoberfest brews out. It is very well rounded, pleasant taste and overall feel. Each sip is delightful and refreshing. I definitely recommend everyone to try it.

Poured a 12oz bottle into a dimpled stein.

A: Burn orange to amber, 1 finger head dissipates into a thin rim that laces the glass on the way down.

S: Bready and caramel malts, that's about it.

T: Caramel malts up front, then bready malt along with hint of Saaz hops.

M: A bit thin for an Oktoberfest, carbonated just right for the easy-drinking style.

O: If I had to choose a Texas-made Oktoberfest, I'd opt for Rahr or even Shiner over this one. Solid choice and worth trying, though.

A: Amber, copper shade. Not much head, just a thin cap of foam after the pour.

S: Nutty, caramel, pumpernickel, brown sugar. Smells like autumn.

T: Typical caramel maltiness found in Oktoberfests. Some hints of grape and hot nuts with a brown sugar finish. Hops are minimal here.

M: No huge flavors here. A bit boring after the first pint.

O: Worth a shot if you can score a single. A six pack would take a while to finish.

Poured from 12oz bottle into Saint Arnold pint glass

A- Pours a deep amber color with two finger head, dissipates quickly but leaves good lacing.

S- Heavy caramel malty flavor

T- A good malty bread like flavor throughout. Not a lot of bitterness from the hops but they lend a dry finish to the beer.

M- A good bready texture to the beer. Feels a bit thick but it works.

O- A pretty tasty take on the style. Has a different taste to it because it is an ale but I really like the end product.

Appearance-Copper body with a 1 finger off white head the dissipates on contact and leaves almost nothing.

Smell-Malts, Wheat, pretty much nothing.

Taste-Sweet malts. Bready and Spicey. Simple, but good.

Mouthfeel-Light bodied, carbonated nicely, can see myself drinking many.

Overall-Pretty simple, but what I expected. I will probably drink this 6 pack by the end of the day.

Reviewed cold from a bottle to a glass

A - Poured one finger of foam, nice foam lacing ring, cloudy amber color, and carbonation is present

S - Malts, caramel, not a whole lot of hops in this brew

T/M - Medium to lighter bodied, malty caramel taste comes out, smooth brew with no real hop bitterness

D - Decent brew, lighter than most Oktoberfest beers that I have had. Good brew that I could easily have more than one. Would like to have again and I recommend trying it

I poured a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass...

The liquid was dark copper with a nice white head that dissipated quickly.

It had aromas of sweet caramel and butter with just a slight sourness to it.

The beer tastes mostly of toasted caramel, biscuits, and more sweet malt.

When you take a sip you notice a light- medium body, the smoothness, and just a slightly dry finish.

I'm very impressed with Saint Arnold on this one, nothing bad to say about it at all.
