Serving Type: Bottle, poured into a chilled pilsner glass.

Appearance: Cloudy brown with a tinge of red, half a finger of small bubbled foam on top that disappears as soon as you start to drink, leaving very little residue on the glass.

Smell: Very light oaky smell with a hint of maple, it is nice and well rounded. This beer has a well rounded aroma.

Taste: Very well balanced, the oak character and hop presence give it a nice personality. I also pick up some chocolate and a little sweetness from the maole that really bring this beer together. All these flavors though are very light though, there is no intensity to this beer.

Mouthfeel: Has a nice feel, I will say a little to much carbonation. After a while in your mouth, the carbonation starts to overpower the flavors.

Overall: A very light brown ale that can only be fully appreciated when you understand the region it comes from. Houston is damn hot, and most of the year it is really hard to drink a heavy beer. So this is a brown ale that is not very heavy, and actually very refreshing. You could sit out by the lake on a 90 degree summers evening and knock back a few. There are very few other beers with this kind of taste that can be enjoyed like that. So, well done Saint Arnolds, you made a damn good brown ale.

Pint was served on draft in the Houston Airport.

Om a hop head so this really isn't my style but it was pretty good. Would be aomething you could drink a few of no problem. Decent nose. Little nutty flavor and more bitterness than expected.
