July 2017: Keg pint at the Station Pub, Castleford. Golden colour, creamy white head. Weak aroma, but not offensive. Smooth mouthfeel. Refreshing clean flavour, fairly dry, but the hops are too moderate. Still not nearly as bad as I feared.

Picture this ... 11 years old, on a street corner with a can of carling that you nicked out of your dad's garage beer fridge.
Although Carling has a bad name amongst other lager drinkers. I feel that it does not get it's recognition that it deserves. It most likely moulded 95% of the users on beeradvocate.com. You're hypocrites to say that you never once drank carling and didn't enjoy it.
As much as I dislike this beer, you have to account for the culprit, that being carling, of those nights spent alone in a dark playground spinning on the merry go round of your lost dreams.

Can (4% ABV). Straw. Fizzy head which remains for a period of time.
Soapy lemony aroma. Cereal. Cleaning fluid.
Bland - some hops, metallic cereal and a maybe hint of spice.
Light body.
Yuk!

Very weak UK lager. Probably the worst commercial lager in the world. Tastes like water with no complexity.

The colour is pale gold; the large foam (created by the nitro-widget) sinks down to a ½ finger compact off-white head. Some lacing.
The smell got notes of boiled vegetables, minerals and a touch of wet cardboard.
The taste is first very mild, and then some stuffy malty notes emerge. A quickly passing sweet flavours leaves room for some minerals and a hint of cream. The aftertaste is very wishy-washy with hints of paper/cardboard and some malt-sweetness in the background.
The carbonation is mild, the few bubbles are microscopic and smooth. The liquid is very smooth, as expected from a nitro-can.
Wishy-washy. A waste of malt and hops, although it doesn't seem to be a lot of those ingredients in this beer.
